Cut from whisper-weight black silk-georgette, this blouse is decorated with gold and tortoiseshell buttons and authentic wool-felt epualettes.
The wide-leg pants sit high on the waist with a ribbed panel that nips in your silhouette. Two gold buttons flatteringly frame the hips.
I’m a huge fan of the military-inspired trend, but this one missed the mark for me.
If you’re down to drop some coins, you can purchase the blouse here for $3,040 and the pants here for $1,290. Download the Net-a-Porter app today and you can receive 10% off your purchase!
This wool cardigan is richly embellished with 19 different appliqués, all representing one of the collection’s recurring motifs: birds, fish, flowers, hearts, butterflies.
The phrase “Space Boy” is applied across the back.
The past 8 years of Barack Obama’s presidency have been powerful, hopeful…and also sartorially stimulating because of the vision that is our fabulous First Lady Michelle. She walked into our worlds with perfectly pointed kitten heels, and kept a strong hold on our stylish hearts with a wardrobe that spanned from J.Crew to Naeem Khan. She was the master of the cardigan yet could pull out a jaw dropping gold flecked ball gown for the night. We had a good old time swooning over her many chic turns, and have documented every hair and outfit change with unmatched glee.
Enter Presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton, whose arrival onto the scene has been met with so much lukewarm sentiment, that #GirlIGuessImWithHer trended on Twitter.
Let’s be honest: Hill is not much of a fashion plate. Her suits are simple and practical (she mostly wears pants, not skirts). And though her words are powerful and she is, obviously, the best and most brilliant candidate, we can’t seem to get fired up.
Former Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin, who famously claimed she could see Russia from her home in Alaska, was feted and fawned over, with copious details of her designer digs, cool glasses, and blush pink lip color populating newspaper articles.
Even though Palin was *not* qualified for the position, she sure was popular, due to her good looks, simple makeup, and leggy ensembles.
The world is sexist. Some people won’t vote for Hillary because she’s a woman. Trump has used extremely offensive language towards females (About Rosie O’Donnell, he said, “Rosie is just disgusting…she’s fat, she’s a loser.” He stood by his statement last night!). And somehow it is still a close race in this upcoming election.
It simply is harder for women. Just as Beyoncé mused, “Strong enough to bear the children…and get back to business,” women in politics are expected to be smart, know policy, have a stunning track record, but most importantly, not just look professional, but enviably fashionable while doing so.
Hillary is our first female Presidential Candidate and GOD willing, she will be our first female President. But I sometimes wonder if we’d stand more firmly with her if she chose to wear something we could sink our sartorial teeth into.
We can only hope that one day females will be judged for their brain power over the brands they wear. That black men will stop getting shot in the street. That people will be rewarded based on talent and not theatrics. But it seems we have a ways to go.
Let’s hope that real change happens soon, however, on November 8th. Register to vote here.

Now, today, I chose to spotlight a young woman who has played a large role in supplying me with some of the best sartorial inspiration since 2015. I’ve always kept a keen eye on her growth and progression but, it wasn’t until now, that I’ve taken the time out to actually feature her here on Fashion Bomb Daily. Her wardrobe is a treasure trove of endless glitz and glamour but it’s her impeccable styling ability that keeps her followers so delightfully intrigued.
With that, join me as we get into our latest Bomb Blogger: Annabelle Fleur of The Viva Luxury!
In her ‘About Me’ section, Annabelle briefly writes, “I started my love affair with fashion working with a wonderful Hollywood designer Elisa Ferare. Elisa was the most intellectual, creative, chic, lively and brave person I ever met. She used to tell me “Dare to dream and all you wish for will come true”! Starting a fashion blog was a long-time dream of mine. I live, breathe and dream fashion. I hope my blog reaches people who share my obsession with all things fashionable and who dare to dream just like me!”
Annabelle is a style maven who knows no limits. Whether she’s floating down the street, drenched in Gucci‘s latest designs or simply donning distressed denim and an on-trend off-the-shoulder stunner, her versatility is the key factor that distinguishes her from other successful bloggers. In addition to her flawless grasp of selecting statement-making pieces, Annabelle is also queen when it comes to taking looks from day to night!
When I first started following The Viva Luxury, I found myself enthralled by Annabelle’s evident beauty but her Vogue-worthy style combos were also pretty high on the ‘outfit inspo’ radar as well. I found myself combing through every single page of her site, just hoping and wishing for another fashionable fix. And, she never disappointed.
Annabelle is a style chameleon who always builds her looks based on a feminine yet luxurious appeal. No matter what she slips into, this Bomb Blogger always remains the epitome of chic while providing added bits of straight-off-the-runway intrigue. If you were given the opportunity to raid Annabelle’s enviable wardrobe, you’d definitely discover some of the most coveted shoe selections, countless printed maxi dresses, bold voluminous silhouettes, loads of ladylike lace and a handbag collection that will bring you to your knees!
Slay on, hun!

Fashion extraordinaire Christine Centenera took to the streets of Milan Fashion Week while wearing a chic sheer polka dot blouse, strappy snakeskin ankle strap heels and an eye-catching $1,295 Altuzarra ‘Jude’ Paisley Faux Wrap Skirt. But, our girl Rihanna recently rocked the same piece with a pair of eccentric $895 Aquazzurra ‘Wild Russian’ Lace-Up Sandals, an off-the-shoulder tie dye crop top and an exuberant black fur coat.
The playful skirt boasts a dual-toned mixed print, a towering slit and also showcases a clean silhouette. If you’re up for the splurge, purchase yours now!
In my opinion, both ladies slayed! This is two completely different takes on the skirt and they’re both flawless in their own way. Point blank.
One of the victims was identified as 16-year-old Sarai Lara, who had survived cancer as a young girl. According to reports, she and her older sister had gone shopping, and had split up to go to different stores.
Sarai was fortunate enough to beat cancer, only to then be killed at the hands of a gunman, who seemed to have no motive. It seems we can’t even shop without the threat of violence or bodily harm.
Our hearts and prayers go out to the families and victims of this tragedy.

*Just last night, our presidential candidates debated about a range of topics, including gun violence and gun control. When Hillary Clinton accepted her Democratic Nomination in July, she said, “I’m not here to take away your guns. I just don’t want you to be shot by someone who shouldn’t have a gun in the first place. We will work tirelessly with responsible gun owners to pass common-sense reforms and keep guns out of the hands of criminals, terrorists and all others who would do us harm.”
As Fashion Week marches on in Milan (and goes to Paris next week), I can’t help but wonder: what’s the big whoop? Let’s be clear: I am a fashion enthusiast, and covered the shows in New York, London, Milan, and Paris for 8 seasons. But as I watch with glazed eyes at publicity stunts (Alice in Ghetto Land, anyone?), break dancing, and peacocking, I sometimes wonder is it really relevant in today’s fashion climate?
Yes, we can look at Gucci and point to their red/green trimmed pieces, and sometimes we’ll catch the uber wealthy like Marjorie Harvey in a full runway look (the Lady Loves Couture!). But increasingly we’re seeing the very wealthy wear everything from runway to House of CB and My Style Mode, with pieces ringing in around $100.
Fashion Nova has 5.3 million followers on Instagram, and has scores of celebrity spokespeople, including Nicki Minaj (who has also posed for Roberto Cavalli).
The list of celebrity clientele for House of CB reads like a who’s who of Hollywood. Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Gigi Hadid, the Kardashian/Jenners and many more have worn their affordable dresses on multiple occasions.
Of course we know that fashion trickles down. Before House of CB started creating its own original designs, it was known to primarily sell Herve Leger knock offs. And even now, you can see inspirations from Balmain.
And high fashion has its place on red carpets. But increasingly, we’re also seeing people wear House of CB on the red carpet.
So what do you think? Are brands like Zara, Topshop, Missguided, Boohoo, House of CB, and Fashion Nova more relevant in today’s fashion climate?

The Smithsonian Museum of African American History in Washington D. C. opened over this weekend! Lupita Nyong’o was in attendance looking like an African Queen in a $2,105 Maki Oh Adire Camouflage Dress:
The beautifully embellished structured piece works as perfect statement evening wear.
Hot! She better work with her African inspired ‘fits.
She gives life everlasting.
