On the Scene: VH1’s Dear Mama Show with Halle Berry in Ports 1961, Kelly Rowland in Cynthia Rowley, LaLa Anthony in Zachary the Label, and More!

VH1’s Dear Mama Show celebrated some of the favorite people in our lives—our mothers! Rousing performances went down and a slew of stars were in attendance.

Let’s get into their looks!

Halle Berry flaunted her toned abs in a sheer lace, one-shoulder Ports 1961 jumpsuit with a sultry thigh-high slit. Hot!

Kelly Rowland opted for classic femininity in a colorful Cynthia Rowley embroidered dress. She’s always flawless!

LaLa Anthony was the lady in red with adorable son Kiyan, slipping on a curve-hugging Zachary the Label gown in the fiery hue.

Jasmine Sanders and Terrence J were easily the night’s best dressed couple, with the self-proclaimed golden Barbie in White Fox. Gorgeous, no?

Chris Paul was handsome in an expertly-tailored blue suit.

Ludacris and his mom Roberta Shields were literally the cutest!

Floral jacquard and bow-detailed loafers were on the style agenda for the night’s co-host Anthony Anderson, while his mother Doris Hancox went bold in aqua and her luscious curls.

Mary J. Blige was suited up in neutrals with her mother Cora. Clearly, poppin’ blonde hair runs in the family!

Rocsi Diaz was a blue dream in a lace Self-Portrait number. I never grow tired of seeing this beautiful frock.

Singer LaTina Webb tried on the sheer dress trend for size in a short-sleeve, beaded piece. Great dress!

Splurge: Melanie Brown’s LA Nail Salon The Jetset Diaries Sierra Maxi Dress

Melanie Brown indulged in a little mommy/daughter pampering time at a LA nail salon dressed in a $219 The Jetset Diaries Sierra Maxi Dress:

The Jetset Diaries floor-length dress features a low-key floral print detail, tasseled drawstring at the gathered keyhole neckline and sashes tie over the arm openings.

Mel wore a pair of nude, open-toe sandals and medium sized hoop earrings.

I’ve always loved her style.  She carries herself with such style and grace!

If you’re feelin’ her dress, you can purchase it here for the sale price of $153.

Get The Look: Kim Zolciak Biermann’s Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live Saint Laurent One Shoulder Metallic Dot Dress And Pointed Toe Y Patent Leather Pumps

The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum Kim Zolciak Biermann brought the heat during a recent appearance on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live. For the occasion, the mom of six sported a $5,290 Saint Laurent One Shoulder Metallic Dot Dress and $895 Pointed Toe Y Patent Leather Pumps by the brand:

Her sleek mini dress was first seen during the brand’s Spring ’17 runway in Paris. Referencing the high-octane glamour of the ’80s, this one-shoulder piece is cut from devoré chiffon, patterned with black velvet and shimmery metallic polka-dots.

It boasts a sweetheart bodice that’s boned for support and a swishy asymmetric hem.

Her chic Italian made pointed toe patent-leather pumps feature a gold ‘Y’ at the heel and slim strap.

This entire ensemble is straight fire and she knows it! Hot!

Claire’s Life Rewind: Convos with Rasheeda Frost, and Interviewing Kevin Hart & Ashley North

Happy Monday, Bombers and Bombshells!
Can I tell you, I am SO HAPPY to be back by a computer. This past week has been super busy, full of travel, interviews, cocktails, and conversations, but I haven’t been able to update the site with the blow-by-blow because of a blown laptop (read the report at the end).*
At any rate, after completing my hosting/speaking duties for Sheen Magazine for their Legendary Weekend, I decided to make the most of my time in the A, and sat down for an interview with reality starlet, fashionista, and Pressed Atlanta owner, Rasheeda Frost.

We sipped on a ‘Southern Peach’ cocktail aka Ciroc Peach and tonic, and talked about her style, entrepreneurship, and the nitty gritty about how she started and maintained a super popular store in the most luxurious mall in Georgia (video coming soon to Fashion Bomb TV).

For the day, I repurposed a 5001 Flavors short suit, adding DSquared2 Strappy sandals and a Gucci Head Scarf.

Later on that day, Rasheeda and I hosted part 2 with Conversations with Claire and a book signing at Pressed.

Lots of fly Bombers and Bombshells came out to support, including ParisChea, Reco Chapple, Funky Dineva, and more! It was a good time!

Thank you to everyone who came out with great energy, great questions, and blessings upon blessings.

It was fabulous! I didn’t have much time to relish in the good Georgia vibes, as I boarded a plane the next day for the West Coat. Kevin Hart and his stylist Ashley North (@AshleyNorthStyle) have collaborated on a fashion film that simultaneously showcases Ashley’s artistic prowess and Kevin Hart’s multifaceted talent.

Though one should expect this to be another comedy, it in fact shows Kevin in a more dramatic light, and uncovers some of the pain behind his playful jokes. The FBD crew had the ultimate opportunity to hang out backstage, capture some Behind the Scenes footage, and also interview Ashley about how she broke into celebrity styling (she started off interning for Tameka Foster and helped style Usher and Justin Bieber before working with Kevin. She has been Kevin’s stylist for over 10 years).

I also got a chance to ask Kevin a few questions about his fashion sense and keys to success (he is killing it right now, isn’t he?).

Amazing, right? But again, I didn’t have much time to let the moment marinate, as I was booked to give a guest lecture on marketing and branding in Boston at MIT’s Sloan Business School.

Yes! One of my graduate student tutor’s I met while an undergrad at Harvard invited me to lecture to two of her classes about how I started Fashion Bomb Daily, and any key marketing and branding lessons I’ve learned over the past 10 years.

Each class was 80 minutes long, so I was certainly anxious, BUT the students were so eager and had such great questions that the time flew right on by. Call me (Guest) Professor Sulmers.

That night, I decided to do Convos with Claire Boston, so hightailed it to Hyde Park to Josefa de Silva’s atelier for a fun convo, moderated by FBD’s very own Cassandre LaTortue.

I rocked a dress from Boston’s Shop William Edward, while Cassandre stunned in a Ty Hunter x 360 style multicolored dress. We grabbed a pic with Josefa da Silva and model Akou Diop.

After we chatted, we sipped wine, ate hors d’oevres from Zaz Restaurant (1238 River St, Hyde Park, MA 02136. You MUST stop by if you’re ever in Boston), and I signed lots of books. I started my travels with a bag full of books, and left with just a handful. You guys are amazing!!! Thank you so much for supporting me!!

Then it was back to NYC to shoot my very first cover shoot with Woe Magazine, then to participate on a Diversity panel at this cool conference called Create & Cultivate. My co-panelists Katie Sturino of The 12ish Style, Deddeh Howard of Secret of DD, Emily Sears, Maiah Ocando, & Nicolette Mason were bomb. More of these conversations need to happen!

But none of this was recorded as it happened because my laptop was ruined at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis. And though I was told over a week ago that someone would contact me about fixing it, I haven’t heard a peep. Which is why I can never stay at a Marriott hotel again. Read more in the addendum, but until then, what do you think?
Smootches!

**Thank you to Conversations with Claire volunteers Kenyetta, Darion, and Charbra!
*Long story short, I attended Sheen Magazine’s Legendary Weekend, and was graciously accommodated at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis.

I updated Fashion Bomb Daily and The Bomb Life on Saturday morning from my hotel room, and energetically documented it all via Snapchat. I left my room to grab brunch and visit family, and came back to a laptop covered in liquid. Though it could turn on, the keys were rendering symbols, and my laptop was basically dead. Phone calls to Troy Gonsalves, Debra Carson, Roc Mutawassim, and an elusive man named ‘Elan‘ at Marriott corporate only resulted in a claim number (577913) but no retribution. Not even a sorry. I will live to write another day, but it’s quite disappointing that a hotel would allow such poor customer service. I was lucky (?) enough to stay at the Marriott in Cambridge, and attempted to prepare my MIT presentation down in the computer lab; the computers froze and shut down every time I tried to add images to my powerpoint presentation. I don’t normally complain, so you know this is bad. I’ll keep you updated as to if I ever hear back. It shouldn’t take a public roasting, however, to get a response.

On the Scene: The 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards with Tracee Ellis Ross in Rosie Assoulin, Zendaya in Zuhair Murad, Yara Shahidi in Gucci, and More!

The 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards went down last night, with our favorite stylish celebrities in attendance.

Let’s get into the night’s looks!

Tracee Ellis Ross went bold in a colorful sequin Rosie Assoulin wrap dress. She’s always flawless!

Zendaya tried on the sheer dress trend for size in an embellished Zuhair Murad stunner. Gorgeous, no?

Yara Shahidi went bold in head-to-toe Gucci. Hot!

Taraji P. Henson shimmered and sparkled in a sequin Emilio Pucci design and a blonde bob. This was fab.

Queen Mother of Politics Maxine Waters showed us all how it’s done in a lace, off-the-shoulder LBD. I’m definitely taking notes!

Ashton D. Sanders and Jharrel Jerome won Best Kiss for Moonlight! They also looked incredibly cool: Ashton’s Calvin Klein look was so dapper.

Amandla Stenberg gave her Fendi dress some cool girl flair with blue lipstick.

Jasmine Tookes was boudoir chic in a navy Lethicia Bronstein lace negligee, belted at the waist. She’s stunning!

Emma Watson wore a fun spin on the LBD in a one-shoulder Kitx dress with silver contrast paillette embellishment. She’s been slaying in the style department this year.

Jasmine Sanders was fierce in an embellished Balmain tunic and thigh-high boots. I loved this!

Yvonne Orji beamed in Dries Van Noten and Stuart Weitzman sandals. That green eye liner honey? Beautiful.

Jhene Aiko and Big Sean were quite the good-looking couple in DKNY and Dior Homme respectively. So fly!

You know I’m all for a statement-making jumpsuit, but Kat Graham’s Off-White piece needed a bit more tailoring.

Jourdan Dunn looked every bit the supermodel in a Johanna Ortiz ruffled blouse and high-waist trousers. She nailed this.

Issa Rae wore her hottest look ever in a blue leather Off-White pleated dress.

Amber Rose was the lady in red in curve-baring separates in the fiery hue.

Shay Mitchell smoldered in a head-turning, tiger print Roberto Cavalli cutout gown.

Cara Delevingne flaunted her buzz cut and mile-long stems in a Saint Laurent LBD. Easily one of the night’s best dressed!

Allison Williams sizzled in a sequin Galia Lahav cutout dress.

The night’s co-host Hailee Steinfeld showcased her toned abs in a lavender, embellished Fausto Puglisi cutout number. She owned this!

Actress Alisha Boe was gilded in a draped jersey gold metallic cocktail dress from Vivienne Westwood Anglomania’s Fall Collection.

Monday Motivation: Write It Down

My People, there is power in the pen.  I decided to go back and read my journal from about two years ago, and what amazed me was the fact that I am currently living out some of the goals that were written in my journal.  There’s something about reading or writing that triggers your subconscious brain.  When you write your goals down and read them over and over, your subconscious brain begins to think about these goals more actively – which in turn causes you to begin working towards them.  Writing your goals down makes them become clear and tangible.  It gives you a clear picture of what you want, it will push you to take action, and it will allow you to see your progress.

I write down whatever I want whether it’s big or small.  I place my list of goals in a notebook that I carry with me 90% of the time or on a computer or mirror so that I can continuously see them.  I constantly refer back to my list of goals to make sure I’m on track or to revise them, and then I execute a plan to accomplish them.

I challenge all of you to get a piece of paper out and write your goals down.  No matter if they are big or small, weird or funny – write them down, believe that you can accomplish them, read them over and over, and work towards them.  The goals you write down won’t be accomplished over night, but I bet you sooner or later you’ll see yourself getting closer and closer to what you’ve written down if you take action.

Write your life!

Happy Monday Positive Thinkers!
