Today’s Bombshell is Sade (@S4de_u), a Nigerian fashionista from London.
She writes,“When asked to describe my style my answer is usually, “It’s what ever mood I wake up in or fell asleep in.” But the truth is my style is just confidence and fun…that’s it.”
“I do what ever the hell I want with clothes and simply rock it with sheer confidence without taking myself too seriously.”
“I love clothes, style and fashion and I am therefore a complete hoe to it.. Im easily bored and hate same same so I am forever changing things up with different looks and styles. If I see a lot of people rocking what I have, it’s likely I’m gonna rip a sleeve off or do something to rock it differently.”
“I cannot really be boxed in one style type, though I tend to lean towards and love timeless classics and blacks I’m just as fanatical for fashion forward and unique pieces.”
“Honestly, I’m totally a walking contradiction when it comes to style. I go from Afro centric to preppy to classics to fashion forward from sartorial to street style.. and on and on. My style is just that ‘my style’ and is what ever I see, like and want to wear.. very much a big open box….of Sade styling tricks with a big dose of GodFidence.”

So I just got back from a deliciously sunny, yet regrettably short stay in Nassau, Bahamas!
More than a tropical travel destination, Nassau is like another home for me, as my mother’s family is from there, and we have family who still lives there! When I go, it’s to relax, yes, but also to reconnect with my cousins, aunts, and uncles! That said, I do have a few travel tips for those who want to embark upon this beautiful island.
1. How to Get There
Jetblue has direct flights from JFK to Nassau that leave several times during the day. A few of my friends also took American Airlines and United. It’s a little under a 3 hour flight. I had zero complaints about Jetblue! Spring for the extra comfort seats, watch TV, and relax.
2. Where to Stay
Our troupe of bridesmaids was stationed at the British Colonial Hilton, which was not bad, but not great. As I mentioned in this post, I was looking for peace and quiet. Perhaps it was the weekend we chose, but the hotel was oversold. The pool and beach were small and crowded. Inside was fine, but nothing mind blowing. I’d definitely do some research if you’re looking for more of a Bomb Life experience! Many people I spoke to suggested staying at the Bahamar because it’s new and majestic.
On this trip, I discovered I’m more of a boutique hotel/AirBNB type chick. On one day, my cousins and I went to a semi private beach called Palm Cay that had a quieter beach and beautiful environs.
We ran into a few new friends from D.C. and Indianapolis (!) who said they were renting a home nearby. I’d definitely go that route next time I come to Nassau.
I heard some chatter that the Bahamian Tourism Board and Government were coming down on AirBNB, but the women I spoke to said they were able to book their home with no issue. Definitely something to consider!
3. Where to Eat
I LOVE to eat and I LOVE Bahamian food. A few things you should order: Cracked Conch, Stew Conch, Conch Salad, Fried Fish, Crab & Rice, Guava Duff…and wash it all down with some Bahamas Goombay Punch!
A few cocktails you should definitely get: Goombay Smash ( spiced rum, coconut rum, apricot brandy, pineapple juice and orange juice) and Sky Juice (Coconut Water, Evaporated Milk, and Gin or Coconut Rum, topped with cinnamon).
Where to eat all these delicacies? On day one, we went to Compass Point (West Bay Street Gambier, W Bay St, Nassau 00000, Bahamas), which is a beautiful restaurant/resort by the water.
You should also definitely stop by Arawak Cay, an area chock full of yummy restaurants and food stands.
4. What to Do
The Bahamas is definitely a place where you chillax and enjoy life…

As retail sales continue to plummet, brands are acquiring other brands. Michael Kors is the latest to join in on the trend, buying up Jimmy Choo for $1.2 billion.
According to the New York Times, “Michael Kors Holdings said it had agreed to buy the shoe company Jimmy Choo for 896 million pounds, or about $1.2 billion, the latest push by an American high-end fashion house to find sources of growth in an increasingly competitive retail landscape.”
Michael Kors is expected to open new Jimmy Choo retail stores and expand their e-commerce presence.
John D. Idol, chairman and chief executive of Michael Kors, said this buyout is “poised for meaningful growth in the future.”
You gotta love enterprising women who see an unmet demand in the market place and jump to supply!
Cue Gabi Fresh and Nicolette Mason, two plus sized blogging powerhouses who launched their brand, Premme Us, today:
The two seriously stylish ladies concocted cute twin sets, fabulous denim jackets, dresses, jumpsuits, and more with the chic and curvy fashionista in mind.
They launched late last night and their site has already crashed!
Stock up while at can at Premme.Us and be sure to follow their new brand on IG @Premme.us.
Celebrities love showing off a little leg here and there, but the chicest way to approach that concept is to pull out that early ‘2000s era mini skirt. Yep, it’s back like it never left, but for the Summer of 2017 it’s getting edgier by the day.
Behold a few fabulous examples, as modeled by some of our favorite ‘it’ girls:
Karreuche Tran looks adorable in practically anything she throws on, but a pink leather zip up mini skirt indeed is her thing.
Kendall Jenner knows how to turn her edginess off and on, but this time it’s turned all the way on! She wore a $110 DG Dèvoiler patent leather mini. She came to slay not play!
Rihanna is a looker when it comes to trends. She kept her look subtle with a Vetements grey sweatshirt, paired with a red fringe mini skirt and red pointed heels to match. A skirt like Rih’s isn’t the easiest to pull off, but to make it work, keep the rest of the look simple by adding solid muted tones or tones that match the skirt’s color.
Charlize Theron wore an all white Dior set to the premier of Atomic Blonde Movie in Berlin. Two-piece sets are in for the summer as well, so what better way is there to pull off a mini skirt look than to have the matching top to go with it? It’s effortless and fashion forward at the same time!
We spied Kylie Jenner in a $2,890 metal mesh mini skirt by Paco Rabanne. A skirt like this number should be paired with a fitted crop top, bodysuit, or anything sexy with a lace pattern.
Emily Ratajowski is a looker in mini skirts too! She wore a confetti plaid mini skirt paired with over the top platform heels, and a lavender sweater, as she waited outside of Marc Jacobs show in NY.
Carrie Underwood wore a rainbow fringe mini skirt, a bedazzled long-sleeve top to match, and strap on heels. This is the ultimate party skirt so don’t be afraid to wear something like this to a club or birthday party.
Bella Hadid went with a destroyed denim mini, paired with all black from head to toe. You can pull off a denim mini skirt in multiple ways, but this model went for a more simple, yet chic approach.
Lastly, Hailey Baldwin wore a khaki mini skirt and paired it with a loose black top and boots. Khaki skirts are the easiest of them all to rock with anything, and the model proved it’s a chic piece to add to the rest of your look.
Lupita Nyong’o went bold at the Black Panther Panel 2017 Comic-Con International, vibrant in an Elie Saab Resort 2018 Palm Print Jumpsuit:
Lupita copied the brand’s lookbook ensemble almost verbatim.
The duster is something I’m still searching high and low for, but this $70 Nasty Gal Leaf An Impression Jumpsuit is a great substitute for Lupita’s all-in-one.
Hot! This print definitely channels J.Lo’s iconic Versace gown.

Aren’t they cute?
The designer is a favorite of celebs like Rita Ora, Taylor Swift, Demi Lovato, and more. Jenny’s saucy stunner left little to the imagination, but it’s definitely a grand way to celebrate her 48th birthday.
