This Afrocentric goddess @necessita went with dark prints and dressed it over with a long outerwear piece. I’m really diggin’ the print combinations!

“I love expressing myself through my outfits. If I wake up feeling like a rockstar you better believe that’s how I’m dressing! Lol”

Eight years later, Pushbutton is still one of the most coveted and buzzed about brands in Seoul. Founded in 2009 by pop singer turned designer Seung-gun Park, the brand captured all of the industry’s favorite trends for Spring.
A cutout bodysuit slipped under a high-waist, black latex pencil skirt was as sultry as it gets, while a double slit, strong shoulder dress layered over trousers couldn’t have been more modest.
A few looks went into completely dowdy territory, though there may have been look enough to save with a cinched waist and some nipping and tucking here and there.
Like many of the collections presented at Seoul Fashion Week, retro-inspired suiting had a stronghold in Pushbutton’s assortment. In double-breasted silhouettes, with shoulder pads, paired with oversized button earrings and sultry slit skirts—the 80’s and early 90’s are definitely having a moment in the Spring 2018 season.
Lace was a sexy addition to the looks on frilly mini dresses, sheer off-the-shoulder designs that were perfect for layering, and a peplum number toughened up with a wide-brim hat and black leather booties.
And that whole destructed, “jacket falling languidly off my shoulders” look got some major play here. Blazer-inspired styles and fringe leather pieces showcased the cool spin on the classics.
What do you think of Pushbutton’s Spring collection?
We’ve got a Bomb Product Alert! Behold bomb lipsticks, lip liners, and eyeshadows by RealHer Makeup.
RealHer is a cruelty free makeup brand that inspires women with striking, authentic motivational quotes on its products about how powerful you can be if you truly believe in yourself. 20% of all profits are donated to charities that empower women.
RealHer sent me over a few products to try. I loved their Do Your Squats shimmer eyeshadow palette, and their pop pink lipstick aptly titled, “I am a Queen.”
The colors are extremely pigmented (I didn’t really have to reapply) and striking. I can’t wait to try the rest of the line!
And be sure to check out how RealHer partnered with beauty influencers attending HBCUs: Judayah Murray of #BlackGirlsYouTubeToo https://youtu.be/NkAo2FAxZ68 & Cassidy Dixon:
Seems a bit expected that Jei Kim would be inspired by Madonna—what with a brand name like Fleamadonna—but that’s exactly who she was inspired by for Spring. Aptly titled “The Breakfast Club” after the band the pop icon was a member of before going solo, the collection was equal parts punk, fun, and spirit.
A sweatshirt tucked into a high-waist pencil skirt felt totally accessible and modern, but blue eyeshadow made even the most pared-down look lively—with that impossible-to-miss 80’s flair.
Sequins injected sparkle into the collection on short-sleeve crop tops, mini skirts, boxy power blazers worn as dresses, and off-the-shoulder tops. Simple ankle-strap sandals in red and black ensured none of the shoes took away from the power of the looks.
Star print never really goes out of style and it was strewn across leg-baring playsuits, high-waist pencil skirts with sultry slits, asymmetric shoulder tops, and voluminous peplum numbers for both work and play.
There was definitely no shortage of skin—with crop tops, mini dresses, plunging necklines, and hot pants.
A touch of the boudoir was present with slip dresses, pajama-inspired separates, and bralettes galore.
And there were definitely a few dresses on display that made the case for red carpet dressing and celebrity appeal. A tri-tone, long-sleeve mini dress would look perfect on the Hadid sisters and Kerry Washington would sizzle in a slip-inspired dress with a thigh-high slit and exposed buttons.
Seoul and Tokyo Fashion Week are happening at the same time! The former is one of my absolutely favorite cities for fashion and a brand like Bourie shows exactly why. After a smash debut last season, Eun-hye Jo returned with a sleek, modern, and monochrome collection with her expert tailoring and construction skills on display.
Stripes felt classic on button-front maxi dresses and matching skirt sets.
Suiting was strong with power-shoulder blazers, bermuda shorts, breezy trousers, and obi belt-inspired cinched waists. An element of sexiness showed through with exposed décolletage peeking from underneath the pieces’ wide-notch lapels.
Pops of blue injected color into the assortment and really spoke to our need for vibrancy after a long and harsh winter.
The assemblage proved that simplicity still packs as much of a punch as glitzier wares.
But an abstract floral print played on the season’s timeless pattern and added a sense of whimsy to the designs.
Sexy dresses—and those that could be tailored to appear as such—made the case for red carpet dressing and celebrity appeal. A white ruffle midi dress looked like just the thing for Kim Kardashian, while a peter pan collared-LBD would look phenomenal on Jennifer Lopez.
