On The Scene: Cocktails with Claire x Ty Hunter New York Presented by Martini & Rossi, Seagrams Spiked, Urban Skin Rx, Dare To Have Hair, Rayar Jeans, and Cantu!

Happy Monday, Bombers and Bombshells!

Fashionistas of all stripes gathered for a night fun, networking, and best of all, fashion on Saturday, November 11th for our annual event, Cocktail with Claire! Our Editor-In-Chief Claire Sulmers and celebrity stylist, Ty Hunter, took over The Attic Rooftop & Lounge in Midtown Manhattan.

The chilly weather couldn’t stop the party! Guests, including Love & Hip-Hop’s Yandy Smith arrived in their flyest furs, coats, and more.

Before the party headed up to the roof with drinks and music by DJ Olivia Dope, VIP attendees had the chance to brunch with Claire, Ty and our special guests Mr. Jay Manuel and Robert Verdi. The industry moguls shared advice with aspiring stylists, journalists, designers, and creatives during a short panel discussion. The guests sipped on Martini & Rossi and Seagrams Spiked drinks while indulging on the delicious menu items at The Attic including a delicious lobster mac & cheese, a chicken and waffles platter, and more. Flowers from The Bouqs Co decorated the table.

Once the panel and brunch ended, the crowd headed up to the roof for the party! Claire and Ty made their rounds and greeted guests who anxiously awaited to take selfies and introduce themselves to the host and hostess. Claire signed books while shinning in her Marquette21 dress.

Not only did bombshells and bombers dance the night away, but they shopped it up as well. Tnemnroda Eyewear was on the scene with their statement shades, Moda Operandi showcased designer duds, and Dare to Have Hair offered their wares to savvy fashionistas.

Before the party ended, iconic costume designer and honoree Patricia Field arrived! She was honored by Claire & Ty with an award for her commitment to diversity.

To close out the evening, we spotted some major street style looks and even got to chat it up with these Bombshells and Bombers (stay tuned for the interviews coming soon!) Take a look what they chose to rock for the night.

Man Crush Monday #MCM: Cordell Broadus

Snoop Dogg’s eldest son, Cordell Broadus, isn’t just known for having one of the greatest rap legends as a Dad! He’s his own rising mogul who adores pursuing his passions in fashion and film. This 20-year-old LA native is making a name for himself as a creative director for Joyrich, and he’s even gotten his hands dirty in directing music videos such as his father’s “Toss it” video with help from his production company. He’s been featured on the runways of Dolce & Gabbana (Menswear SS18) and Phillip Plein (SS18), but that was just to get his feet wet into his ultimate goal to walk the same path of some of the greats in directing films like Steven Speilberg and Quentin Tarantino. He is dubbed our MCM because he once hesitated to embrace his creative energy, but now he’s proving to the world that he can take on just about any challenge. Behold, our Man Crush.

This witty UCLA film student scored all A’s during his sophomore year, already has his career path aligned, is killin’ look after look in the fashion industry, and I’m sure the ladies can’t get enough of that fresh face and charming smile.

He loves sports, but he’s more of a creator than anything else. We see that through his input on designs for Joyrich, and even when showing off his own swaggy style on Instagram @cbroadus.

Prints look absolutely divine on this young fellow. It elevates his style to a more confident, sleek appeal.

Even though he loves indulging into films more than anything, his modeling career can take him through the roof! He would make a great spokesmodel for intimate brands’ like Calvin Klein.

Cordell’s originality reflects fashion decades of the ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s. He’s too cool to follow trends, as he’s put’s his own spin on the old and turns into a modern look.

His appearance is always clean, crisp and well put together. There’s no telling what his future will consist of but we know it’s surely a bright one ahead!

Fashion Bombshell of the Day: Bettinah from Uganda

Happy Monday!

Today’s Bombshell is bringin’ her a-game. Behold Bettinah from Uganda.

She writes, “Sexy is my mantra. I pick pieces that show off my curvy, feminine figure. I always strive to pick a silhouette that shows off my waist. My style is more high end,  very trendy and classy with a touch of sexy.”

“To me, fashion and photography should go hand in hand because photography is powerful. The quality of your photos keeps people glued to your social media even where you choose to shoot from contributes a lot to your photos, I always tell people around me, wearing the most gorgeous outfit and not taking a photo to share with the world is a complete and utter waste. What you wear is how you present yourself to the world. Fashion is an instant language and Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak.”

“I always dress to catch an eye being an influencer [ I’ve managed to work with U.K. and USA international brands such as Fashion Nova as their ambassador , and many more as seen tagged on my social media]  , also a panelist on Uganda’s most watched tv fashion show ” The Style Project” that airs on a national tv, NTV Uganda, I always have to look my best. It’s a 10 always when I dress up…. no excuses, and for that reason I’ve been nominated  3 categories in a row in 2 different major award ceremonies courtesy of my fashion.”
“Fashion is very important. It’s lifeenhancing. And like everything that gives pleasure, it is worth doing well. I always try to be the best dressed in the room or at an event, or else I stay back home and read a fashion magazine.”

On the Scene: The 14th Annual CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards with Ashley Graham in Victor Glemaud, Lala Anthony in Baja East, Nicki Minaj in Alexander Wang, and More!

The 14th Annual CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards went down in NYC last week! Our favorite fashion designers were in attendance as were their gorgeous muses.

Let’s get into the night’s looks!

Ashley Graham was white hot in a skintight Victor Glemaud LWD.

Lala Anthony sizzled in an asymmetric shoulder slit Baja East LWD. Hot!

Nicki Minaj flaunted her curves in a plunging Alexander Wang playsuit.

Teyana Taylor demonstrated the power of the LBD in Baja East. Flawless.

Paloma Elsesser brought a bit of the boudoir to real-life in an orange slip dress and duster from Adam Selman. I live for her style!

Lais Ribeiro was suited up in Cushnie et Ochs Resort 2018. This was fab.

DVF layered it on in a two-tone fur stole, roomy jacket, black and white stripe slit pencil skirt, tights, and sandals. Gorgeous, no?

Fernanda Ly shimmered and sparkled in a mixed media, asymmetric shoulder sequin frock.

Fei Fei Sun was ready for the holidays in a sequin J. Mendel mini dress. So cute!

Jenna Lyons exposed a bit of décolletage in a classic, white button-front shirt opened down to there—layered under a long vest and skinnies. In a word: iconic.

Young Paris donned tribal-inspired makeup and printed denim separates.

Cynthia Erivo was all smiles in a navy slit gown.

Everything was coming up feathers for Lauren Santo Domingo in Calvin Klein.

I loved the way Tory Burch accented an otherwise v-neck, embellished jumpsuit with a pussybow blouse.

Laura Harrier and Leon Bridges were easily one of the night’s best dressed duos. Her pretty yellow frock skewed Spring, but his expertly-tailored navy suit was impeccable.

If you haven’t yet decided on what to wear to tomorrow’s Cocktails with Claire x Ty Hunter event in NYC, here’s a few ideas to get your wardrobe game together.

For a fun and festive outfit idea, style a double-breasted blazer with a neck-tie shirt and leather leggings.

Add a dash of sparkle with a pair of silver sequin pumps and diamond logo stud earrings. Lastly, work a chic box clutch and a bold pink lip for a pop of color.

Style one of the season’s hottest trends in a hunter green velvet blazer and matching wide-leg pants.

Pull the look together with a lace bralette top, an acrylic box clutch, and black suede pumps. Add the finishing touch with simple gold jewelry, a soft pink lip, and full voluminous lashes.

And for your final wardrobe option, rock distressed high-rise skinny jeans and an ivory satin camisole with a burgundy printed velvet blazer.

Incorporate chic details with gold leather pumps, a plush navy blue fur stole, a burgundy velvet shoulder bag, and a beige wide-brim fedora hat. Opt for a deep plum lip and a smokey eye for the final touch.
