Fall Style Preview from TJ Maxx and Marshall’s

Hey Bombers,
Adriana here with a bit of an early bird special on fall! Last week I attended TJ Maxx and Marshalls’ Fall Preview event held in the penthouse of the Hudson Hotel in midtown Manhattan.

The incredible view of NYC from the terrace made a fantastic backdrop to check out what’s coming up for fall!

Now, I know we’re in the throes of late spring and summer hasn’t even started yet but I have to admit, almost *everything* I saw had me wishing it was autumn already. Take a look:

Sweet, no? Trend-wise, it seems we can look forward to lots of  sunny, citrus hues (orange, yellow, gold); jewel tones; animal prints; boyfriend fits; and, as we saw from the Fall ’09 runway shows, a big ’80s revival (the plaid wrap/red belt combo and acid wash jeans above are straight outta 1984).
Also, one trend I hadn’t seen much of in the shows but TJ Maxx/Marshalls seeem to be getting behind: hats, especially 1920s-inspired hats like the sunny gold beauty in the first pic. I’m not mad–love the days of yore when ladies wore their chapeaus and hat pins as surely as they carried a handbag.
What do y’all think about the upcoming fall looks?

Beyonce Tells the Daily Mirror: “I Don’t Know if I’m Fashion Obsessed”

In an article in UK’s Daily Mirror called “The Anti-Diva,” Beyonce claims that she’s, in fact, a low maintenance gal.

She says, “I don’t know if I’m fashion obsessed. I think when I’m working, yes, but when I’m at home I usually wear the same thing every day. I have my straight-leg jeans and a pair of Christian Louboutins and a little jacket and a white shirt. I get sent about fifteen designer bags a month. I can only imagine how much they cost. Even I wouldn’t buy some of them.”

Wow, can you imagine having 15 designer bags sent to you a month? And she can afford them! Meanwhile us non millionaires have to pay retail…hmm…

Who Wore it Better? Rihanna vs. Kim Kardashian in Christian Louboutin

Christian Louboutins have a cultlike following amongst celebs, and bombshells Rihanna and Kim Kardashian showed their affiliation by wearing his Suede Deva Tie Back Boots:

They both paired theirs with rolled up jeans, a white top, and vest, but while Rihanna went for pops of blue with her vest and matching blue Gucci Darwin Leather Backpack, Kim kept her look simple in nude tones and understated accessories.

Try a Trend: Skirts with Knee High Socks and Heels

Lately I’ve spied lots of girls wearing skirts with modern knee high socks and heels:

Tracy Reese featured the trend prominently in her Fall 2009 collection:

The look offers a quirky yet sexy schoolgirl vibe, without reeking of early 90’s innocence:
