Today Swagger brings us a picture of Yann, a consummate Parisian fashionisto:
Homeboy is working some very *ahem* tailored Cheap Monday jeans, leather boots, a vintage jacket, and a Dolce & Gabbana polka dot silk scarf. Lots of hot accessories, but I think the best part of this look is his confidence. The thumbs in the pockets and slightly off kilter stance communicate a certain pride that makes this ensemble special.
This year the GAP asked winners of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion fund to rework another GAP classic:
Khaki!
Alexander Wang, Vena Cava, and Albertus Swanepöel designed alluring motorcycle jackets, chinos, hats, and dresses in the traditional fabric. The collection will become available on June 16th with prices ranging from $39.50 to $88.
The clothes look cute enough, but I’m really excited about the campaign shot by Craig McDean and featuring models Arlenis Sosa, Raquel Zimmerman, Anna Jagodzinska and Coco Rocha.
“I seen a rainbow yesterday/ But too many storms have come and gone/ Leaving a trace of not one God-given ray/ Is it because my life is ten shades of gray/ I pray all ten fade away/ Seldom praise Him for the sunny days/ And like His promise is true/ Only my faith can undo/ The many chances I blew/ To bring my life to a new/ Clear blue and unconditional skies/ Have dried the tears from my eyes/ No more lonely cries/ My only bleedin’ hope is for the folk who can’t cope/ With such an endurin’ pain that it keeps ’em in the pouring rain/ Who’s to blame for shootin’ caine into you’re own vein/ What a shame you shoot and aim for someone else’s brain/ You claim the insane and name this day in time/ For fallin’ prey to crime/ I say the system got you victim to your own mind/ Dreams are hopeless aspirations/ In hopes of comin’ true/ Believe in yourself/ The rest is up to me and you…“
My Samsung SGH E-307 flip phone (Tape is holding the battery. What can I say? It gives my phone character.)… My classic iPod Nano 4GB (They literally don’t make em like this anymore.)… My War Child bracelet ($5 each and 100% of net proceeds go to aiding kids affected by wars. GREAT cause!)…My Christy’s Crown Wool Slick Fedora (It brings out the hipster in me)…and my absolute fave…ChapStick Spearmint (Cherry ChapStick is so 2008. This gives you a cool feeling on the lips that leaves a minty taste. Great for all you kissers out there.)
Methinks I should get an iPhone and ditch the cell phone and vintage iPod Nano. What say you?

Unfortunately the dress is sold out online, but check at your local Bebe store to see if they have a few in stock.
Keisha says, “I absolutely love this necklace Jennifer Hudson is wearing!“
“… Where can I find it or something very close to it?“
The covergirl’s jewelry is undoubtedly tres expensive, so I found you a few looks for less (plus one splurge!):
Joyce from Paris (what what!) says, “I saw this jumpsuit on Ciara and Kim Kardashian and fell in love with it:”
“Can you tell me where I can find cheaper alternatives?”
While Kim and Ciara paid $2,245 for this Stella McCartney Backless Jumpsuit, you can get a similar silhouette for less in a few different colors:
In a wardrobe query Christine says, “I’ll be attending a semi-formal and a black and white party in the same night! I’m a college senior and really want to go out with a bang this year. I’m hoping to find something that’s still appropriate for my semi-formal but also something hot for that night (I won’t really have much time to change clothes). Any ideas?”
We found you a variety of options at different price points to fit the themes of your big night:
Lastly, Ka’Lan says, “I’m looking for a pair of black ankle strap heels,…the closest thing I’ve seen are on a model for the Forever 21 site.”
“…I’m really hoping you could find a pair for me, or a cheap alternative.”
Sure! Adriana found you these options:
Hope you like ’em!
It’s a long weekend here in Paris and I have a friend coming to visit! Let me dust my walking shoes off…the Louvre is killer!
Have amazing weekends and stay tuned next week for a slew of celeb interviews!
Bisous!
Hey Bombers,
Adriana here with a bit of an early bird special on fall! Last week I attended TJ Maxx and Marshalls’ Fall Preview event held in the penthouse of the Hudson Hotel in midtown Manhattan.
The incredible view of NYC from the terrace made a fantastic backdrop to check out what’s coming up for fall!
Now, I know we’re in the throes of late spring and summer hasn’t even started yet but I have to admit, almost *everything* I saw had me wishing it was autumn already. Take a look:
Sweet, no? Trend-wise, it seems we can look forward to lots of sunny, citrus hues (orange, yellow, gold); jewel tones; animal prints; boyfriend fits; and, as we saw from the Fall ’09 runway shows, a big ’80s revival (the plaid wrap/red belt combo and acid wash jeans above are straight outta 1984).
Also, one trend I hadn’t seen much of in the shows but TJ Maxx/Marshalls seeem to be getting behind: hats, especially 1920s-inspired hats like the sunny gold beauty in the first pic. I’m not mad–love the days of yore when ladies wore their chapeaus and hat pins as surely as they carried a handbag.
What do y’all think about the upcoming fall looks?
