We’re going to the DMV today with Fashion Bombshell Ashleigh from Maryland:

She says, “My style is eclectic…”

“… and a little on the adventurous side.”

” I like to try out new things,”

“.. and pair together unlikely items.”

” If a fashion choice makes me a little nervous…”

” then I go for it!”

Hey Ashleigh! You’re absolutely lovely. You have great style and a cute command of color. No misses here, you hit it out of the park!
What do you think?

Style Diary: Mercedes Benz Fall 2012 Fashion Week Day 4

So on day 4 of Fashion Week, my feet raised the white flag. They were cramped, uncomfortable, and sore, so I pulled on my Loeffler Randall Riley over-the-knee back zip flat boots to navigate around town:

It was colder than a polar bear’s toenails, so I had a pull out another vintage fur, yet kept my look girly with a Paloma colorbock dress by Elizabeth & James:

I stored just a few small trifles in a pink accented Casshimi cross body bag:

And accented my pink and gray color scheme with neon green Shourouk E. Vegas crystal and sequin earrings:

(My Prada Baroque sunnies were to hide fatigue).

At any rate, there you have it. What do you think?

Fashion Bombshell of the Day: Dionne from Boston

Sure we’re going full force during Fashion Week, but our Daily Bombshells still need their shine! Today we’re profiling Dionne, a Boston based designer for the line Bondij by Blond Di:

20120213-112523.jpg
She says, “My designs have been featured on BET’s 106&Park, Miss Teen USA just to name a few.”

“… My designs are currently sold in 2 boutiques in Boston and Patricia Field, NYC.”

” I also work a full time job…”

“… and will be opening my own design studio & showroom this year.”

“I LOVE THE FASHION BOMB. “

“Thanks and hope to hear from you guys soon.”

Cute! I think adding some variety to your shoe repertoire would take your look to the next level.
What do you think? Would you buy from Dionne’s line based on her looks?

Style Diary: Mercedes Benz Fall 2012 Fashion Week Day 3

Happy Fashion Week Bombshells!

On Day 3, I decided to ditch the color, and go for all black with a touch of pattern. Since I planned to attend the Christian Siriano show that day, I ordered a Christian Siriano Black Mikado dress from Rent the Runway, then layered it under my Helmut Lang blazer:

I added of bit of interest with a Zara belt, along with necklaces by Michael Kors and Kenneth Jay Lane:

Because it. is. freezing, I of course pulled on a coat, and thought this Talon Blushed Blanket Jacket by BB Dakota from Karmaloop would fit the bill:

I didn’t make the same mistake as I did on day 1, so pulled on some sheer backseam hose by Spanx:

And added some height with heels from Velvet Angels–but made sure to store a pair of flats in my sturdy Givenchy bag:

And there you have it:

Day 3 Outfit: Hot! or Hmm…?

*Note, the BB Dakota coat is NOT warm. But I think it could be cool for, say, a California chill. If you want it, it’s on sale for $56 at Karmaloop (but they only have a medium). Also get it for $110 at Modcloth.

Style Diary: Mercedes Benz Fall 2012 Fashion Week Day 2

I’m literally running out the door, but wanted to share the outfit I wore on Day 2 of Fashion Week with you guys…!

Though most fashion editors are rocking hard with all black, I’ve been trying to kill it with color, adding a bit of fun to my everyday wear. For Day 2, I went with tried and true J.Crew, slipping on a pair of stretch twill Minnie pants in red flame:

I added a bit of pop with a blue pair of Miu Miu glitter pumps, along with a multi colored snake bag by Cashhimi:

My eyes were tired, so I wore a pair of Jungle Chic frames from Bonlook.com. I have a *very* high prescription, so am sometimes afraid they look like Coke bottles:

What do you think?
At any rate, yesterday was super busy, and today promises to be the same. I’m running off to see Lacoste, Jill Stuart, Christian Siriano, and L.A.M.B. In the meantime, what do you think of my outfit on Day 2?

*Random: my outfit kinda reminds me of this:

Ha!
*Outfit Info: J.Crew stretch twill Minnie pants in red flame. Miu Miu glitter heels. Vintage Fur. ken+dana design necklace. J.Crew Cashmere Boyfriend Sweater.

Style Diary: Mercedes Benz Fall 2012 Fashion Week Day 1

Hey!

So for Day 1 of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, I decided to play with color, pulling on my favorite J.Crew Blythe Silk Blouse in fetching purple:

I added a bit of contrast with an oversized orange clutch by Cashhimi:

Along with bright yellow patent leather pumps from Christian Louboutin (the heels are reasonable, so they’re not too much of a pain to walk in):

I anchored my multi-hued ensemble with a chocolate brown lace skirt from Zara, along with a vintage coat for warmth.

Your eyes are not deceiving you–I went bare legged. I somehow managed to shred through all my flesh toned hose, so had to go without. I won’t do that again. It was cold!

At any rate, as you all know, I like preppy, classic silhouettes, so love the idea of a button down and a pencil skirt. I tried to add some pizazz to my normal repertoire by working with various complementary colors and playing with texture.

How did I do?

Stay tuned for more of my outfits from Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

Smootches!

Fashion Bombshell of the Day: Sasha from Toronto

Today we’re headed up North for just a spell with Sasha from Toronto:

20120209-112439.jpg
She writes, “I wouldn’t say that I have a set style.”

” I dress according to how I feel and in accordance to what statement I want to make.”

20120209-132115.jpg

” I’m a plus size fashion blogger/designer for FLAWS OF COUTURE (www.flawscouture.com).”

“…My intentions are always to let all women know that fashion/styles is achievable in EVERY size!”

“Ladies, work what you’ve got!”

” You’re curves are BEAUTIFUL!””

Alright! You’re certainly adventurous. I think you have some hits and misses, but you definitely have your own look.
Ladies, do you think Sasha’s curves are beautiful?

Claire’s Life: Grey Goose Rising Icons Event with Kianga Peterson, Niki Schwan, and Amanda Seales

So yesterday was super busy for the Bomb! In addition to running last minute errands for the beginning of Fashion Week, I also attended the Red Dress Collection Fashion Show (review to come!), then capped off my night with a Grey Goose sponsored soirée.

I, along with designer Kiki Kianga Peterson and stylist Niki Schwan were named ‘Rising Icons’ in honor of passion, excellence, and inspiration. We partied it up at Empire Hotel Rooftop, all the while grooving to beats by Amanda “Diva” Seales, sampling yummy hors d’oeuvres, and sipping on Grey Goose cocktails:

Check out a few pix of the crowd:

Fashion Bomb 101: How to Wear Thigh High Boots

Tokirra says, “I’m going to Kevin Hart’s new show “Let me Explain.” I want to wear thigh high boots but what could I wear to make them stylish and not hooker-ish???”

“… Help!!!”
Thigh high boots are super saucy, and can definitely look like ‘hooker’ boots if worn the ‘wrong’ way. The simple rule is, the less skin, the less likely you are to be mistaken for a street walker.
If you want to go for conservative, take cues from the following fly ladies:

If you live by the axiom, “If you’ve got it, flaunt it,” look to these ladies for inspiration:

I personally don’t mind either iteration of wearing thigh highs. Just don’t wear ’em with, say, micro shorts…

..and you’re good.
What do you ladies think?
