Fashion Bomber of the Day: Roman from New Jersey

I decided to close out the week with Fashion Bomber Roman from Trenton, New Jersey:

The self described, ‘Foreign Manikin’ writes, “I couldn’t tell you how my style was even if I wanted to.”

” I always feel like I can do whatever I want. In reality I can’t do EVERY single thing I want, but dressing the way I feel gives me a powerful feeling knowing I’m being risky! It satisfies me.”

“… I like to plan 3 hours before heading out to get dressed because being under pressure to look nice brings the creativity out of me like no other!”

” I have dressed so may ways that now I can go up different avenues of styles and it be accepted more.”

“… Most importantly my confidence helps me wear the clothes instead of them wearing me :)”

Your style is fearless and shows lots of range! I’m sure not everyone will ‘get’ your looks, but I can always appreciate someone willing to take sartorial risks.

Today we’re hopping down south with Krystal from Texas:

The Houston resident writes, “My style varies…”

“…I like to keep things fun as well as sexy, but not over the top.”

” I truly believe in the statement that “less is more!””

“… I own a boutique: www.Sarai-Sarai.com, and every time I go out, I try to wear a piece from the boutique.”

“… Everything I sell, I wear. It’s totally a reflection of my personal style.”

Cute, flavorful, fun: my favorite look might have to be your peachy maxi dress.

“Simple basic cardigans and button up shirts to bright printed blouses and animal print skirts.”

Fashion Bombshell of the Day: Beeba from London

We’re taking a break from our Met Gala roundup to feature today’s Bombshell, Beeba from London:

She writes, “I am Nigerian but I live in London…”

“I own a fashion blog called beebaswardrobe.blogspot.com and a YouTube
channel – http://www.youtube.com/user/thebeebanetwork?feature=mhee

“My style is very free, I dress according to how I feel…I love a lot of shapes and colors and lots of vintage blazers and dresses.”

“My style icon is Marilyn Monroe. When i get married I’ll probably wear pencil dresses everyday and vintage girdles with a pin up style.”

“My style isn’t the same everyday but I will always opt for something really classic.”

Hey Beeba! I love what you sent in, but would have liked to see more. Your green blazer and patterned top was my favorite ensemble; wish we could’ve seen the head to toe look.

Fashion Bombshell of the Day: Jerrell from Virginia

We’re closing out this week with DMV diva Jerrell from Virginia:

She writes, “I started my blog {www.jerrellrenee.com} about a year ago, but only recently began focusing on fashion, beauty and personal style.”

“I like to think of my style as {sub}urban chic.”

” I gravitate towards classic, and even somewhat preppy, pieces, but I love adding a bold color/print or statement accessory to create my own signature look.”

A major focus on my blog is translating trends I see on the runways and in magazines and making them work for my body type.”

“… I also love to take high-end designer items and mix them with less expensive items to create a more accessible, high/low look.”

“I’m a beginner in this fashion blog world, but I’m loving every second of it. “

Enjoy the ride….! I love your polished, classic looks. And give me those patterned pants!

Steal: Alicia Keys’s 4th Annual Bronx Charter School for the Arts Auction Seville Michelle Anastos Black Square Bamboo Earrings

Along with Rocsi, Alicia Keys was also spotted at the 4th Annual Bronx Charter School for the Arts Auction. She kept it simple in all-black but let studs and fun accessories give life to her look with a studded Versace x H&M leather jacket, studded clutch, and $64 Seville Michelle Anastos Black Square Bamboo Earrings:

Her earrings are a modern take on classic bamboo hoops, in a square shape and leather.

I have been wearing bamboo earrings for years now and this pair is cute! They’re more expensive than a pair you would find on say Jamaica Ave., but they will also last you longer.

You can get Alicia’s hoops at www.patriciafield.com.

What do you think? Would you wear them?

Fashion Bombshell of the Day: Remona from New York

We’re keeping it in New York with today’s Bombshell, Remona:

The Mount Vernon stylista says, “I am in love with fashion.

“Ever since I was young, I have enjoyed playing dress up and expressing who I am through my [clothes].”

“My style is versatile.”

“I love preppy, punk rock, and vintage clothing.”

” I love to create a story with my style and enjoy putting anything together.”

“I am a big fan of leopard, black, and spikes!”

Hey! Love most of your looks, though those JC Litas blue booties and sheer knee highs gave me pause.

Wardrobe Query: Rapper Hazel-E’s Miami Jeffrey Campbell STR8UP Wood Curved Sculpted Wedge Sandals

Jasmine writes, “I love those shoes with no heel on the back, as seen on Rapper Hazel-E in Miami…”

“…which designer makes those???”
I’m not sure who Hazel-E is, but I know my shoes! When you see an inverted heel, in most cases it’s either Giuseppe Zanotti or Jeffrey Campbell. In this case, it’s the latter–Hazel-E shined in Miami in these $165 STR8UP Wood Sculpted Wedges by Jeffrey Campbell.

The extravagant 6 1/2″ platforms curves into heel-less height under a soft suede sandal.
Cute!

If you love ’em, get ’em at Nordstrom. See a few other styles plus the original Giuseppe Zanotti option here:

Now that the shoe mystery has been solved, can someone enlighten me: who is Hazel-E?

SN, I see you Teairra Mari!

Hot! or Hmm… Jennifer Lopez’s American Idol Top 5 Live Show Yeojin Bae Spring 2012 Dress and Christian Louboutin Sex Pumps

J.Lo’s fashionable turns on American Idol continue! For the Top 5 Live show, the diva opted for a red knee length dress by Yeojin Bae, accented by $1,395 Christian Louboutin ‘Sex’ Pumps:

Her Spring 2012 dress features a form skimming silhouette and a ‘nude’ mesh insert.

Her explicit pumps have a 4.7″ heel with a crystal embellishment at the toe.

I want to love this ensemble, but the mesh detail on the dress takes away the look. Perhaps if the mesh were closer to her skin tone…or didn’t exist altogether. Not her best look, but the pumps are hot!
