Fashion Bombshell of the Day: Karima from Baltimore

Today’s Bombshell is Nigerian born Baltimore resident Karima:

She writes, “You featured me as a fashion bombshell a little over a year ago.”

“I am writing to be featured once again.”

“... I would like to show your readers how my blog and style has matured from my last time being featured, now that I am in my early 20s.”

“I created No Dress Code (www.dresscodezero.blogspot.com) to blog about fashion, hair, and how I incorporate both in my everyday life.”

“… My style has not changed since my last feature but instead it is a more refined version.”

” I would describe my style as mix between classic and contemporary.”

” I believe in minimalism.”

” ‘When in doubt, less is more…’ that’s my motto…”

” I apply that to fashion as well.”

I love your motto–sometimes the most simple, refined looks have the most impact. And I definitely see an evolution since your first feature (see it here). Great looks!

Claire’s Life: Check me out in Glamour’s November 2012 Issue!

A few months ago, the kind editors over at Glamour got in touch, asking to include me in a feature on cozy winter sweaters. I wasn’t sure when it would come out, but was juiced to see my mug smiling back at me in their November 2012 issue!

Yep, that’s me, representing for the busty girls on page 104. If you like, pick up an issue. It’s on newsstands (it has Taylor Swift on the cover).
Thanks to all of you who have already sent notes. It’s always exciting to get love from a super popular National Magazine (Whoop!).
Thanks to Lauren over at Glamour for thinking of me;)
Smootches!

Fashion Bombshell of the Day: Arleene from Florida

Today’s Bombshell, Arleene, hails from Hollywood, Florida:

She writes, “I think of my style as chic, casual, sexy…”

“and fun.”

“…The one thing I love about fashion is that we can wear whatever… we want.”

” It’s about having your own personal style and not just following trends.”

” I love getting all dressed up as well as being most comfortable.”

” I love high heels…”

“… but it’s not everyday that I can just throw them on…”

“… [so] I wear a nice casual but feminine outfit.”

“… I love that I can express how I’m feeling and my personality with what I wear.”

Your style is simple and cute!

Fashion Bombshell of the Day: Marnita from Houston

Today we’re going to Houston, Texas (baby) with Bombshell Marnita:

She says, “My style is “something old, something new”.”

” I really enjoy thrifting and combining my findings with something contemporary to create a fashion masterpiece.”

… There is awesome apparel and accessories at the thrift stores I frequent in Houston and I don’t believe you have to break the bank to be fashionable or trendy.”

“… Designer brands can be expensive but I think it’s all about how a person wears an outfit that speaks volumes.”

” All of my thrift store haul pieces fall under $10…”

“…and I feel I pair them well enough to still pull off a modern look.”

” I took the Shakespeare quote, “A rose by any other name would still smell as sweet…” and kind of changed it around a bit: “A cute outfit by any other name would still be as cute!””

Interesting axiom! At any rate, your style is jazzy…I like it! My favorite look may have to be your green and orange colorblocking moment.

Claire’s Life: Nuvo’s Official Launch Party Hosted by Rosa Acosta and Draya Michele + The Dream Hotel with Gabrielle Union

Monday nights in New York city are a lot like Saturday nights in most parts of the world, as the media industry takes on the town for various soirées and booze fueled events. Last night, I had two parties on my schedule–a Nuvo Official Launch Party Hosted by Rosa Acosta and Draya Michele and Gabrielle Union’s birthday party at the Dream–so I slipped on a comfy striped leather sleeve dress by Cut 25, then tried my hand at mixing prints by slipping on a blue printed cardigan from Zara (previously worn here):

For some reason the look was giving me a Parisian/Cher from Clueless vibe, so I added a knit beret from J.Crew, Stuart Weitzman Knee High Boots, and my go-to Givenchy Nightingale.

I’ve been dreaming of stiletto nails, so went for it yesterday. Still don’t know how I feel about the blue crackle, though the length is kinda fun (except when I have to type, text, or do basically anything):

For the actual parties, I ditched the jacket and rocked the dress on its own:

What do you prefer, with the jacket or without?
Fashion Bomb photographer Marta couldn’t stick around for the actual festivities, though I did snag a few pictures on my Iphone (natch):

With Draya Michele on the way up to the Gansevoort Hotel Rooftop

Draya Michele in Angel Brinks and Rosa Acosta in a Geebin Flores creation. Hot! or Hmm…?

With Rae, Gabe, and Ashley of Stuff Fly People Like

Then over at the Dream…

With Gabrielle Union
Chef Roblé
Jaleel White

With Demetria Lucas of A Belle in Brooklyn

With Ty Hunter

It was a fun night!

Thoughts on my mixed print moment?

Fashion Bombshell of the Day: Krystan from Tennessee

Hey!
Today we have another Nashville, Tennessee native, 16-year-old Krystan:

She was dubbed ‘The Most Fashionable Teen in the South’ by her older brother, Kyndall, who submitted her pictures:

Kyndall writes, “I would love to see my little sister featured one day.”

“My little sister Krystan is very stylish!”

“Her style is very bold and sleek.”

” She loves to take risks…”

“… and stand out.”

” She is definitely the trendsetter amongst her peers.”

We normally don’t feature minors, but Krystan is indeed quite stylish for her age. What do you think? Is Krystan the most fashionable teen in the South?

At any rate, catch a glimpse of Tiffany from Virginia:

She writes, “Pick me, Pick me, Pick me, lol!”

“… My name is Tiffany and I am a Virginia native.”

” My style varies based on the day, my mood, the occasion, and the weather.”

” It ranges from Plain Jane, to chic, to eccentric, to street urban.”

” I love accessories especially hair, lipstick, necklaces, and shoes!”

” My pics are not the best, they all have been taken with my phone.”

True, the pictures aren’t great, but your looks are cute! I love the multiple ways you styled that colorful printed blazer.

Men’s Fashion Flash: Waka Flocka Flame and Meek Mill in Givenchy’s Black Rottweiler Print Hoodie

Ok, ok.
I know some of you are tired of the almost daily Men’s Givenchy Style Posts, but some folks are still asking about ’em!
Natasia wrote us just today with the following picture attached, saying, ” I would love to know how much and if the product is still in stock… Thanks!!!!”

It just so happens Waka Flocka Flame is a fan of the Rottweiler design, and donned the same sweatshirt for a Meet and Greet in Toronto:

The $565 black sweatshirt has a Rottweiler print on the front and signature cross-stitching on the back.

It’s a cool shirt, but I’m ready for these stylists to get just a tad more creative, no?
At any rate, get yours before they’re gone at Ssense.com.
