Real Style: Daisy Lewellyn’s Brooklyn Brunch Series at Vodou in Bed Stuy

Happy Monday Bombshells!
Yesterday I had the sincere pleasure of attending yet another of Daisy Lewellyn’s fabulous Brooklyn brunches. Every month, Daisy invites a host of her industry insiders and friends to fellowship, eat, and chat at a BK hot spot!

This month’s rendez-vous was at Vodou, a cozy café at 95 Halsey Street in Bed Stuy. Daisy’s friends always show up and show out, so I brought Fashion Bomb photographer Marta McAdams along to capture the moment:

Celebrity hairstylist Nicola Augustine opted for bold red in a Calvin Klein dress and patterned Wolford wilderness tights. She’s actually holding a holiday hair extension and wig trunk show next Sunday; visit her website www.nicolaaugustinehair.com for more details!

Fashion Bomb reader Amber looked comfy in a Forever 21 faux fur vest and Vince Camuto heels.

Publicist Theo Perry looked absolutely dapper in a Burberry button down and bowtie.

Theressa skewed smart in a colorblock sleeveless sheath from New York & Co.

I appreciated George’s velvet blazer and printed tee.

Makeup artist Camara Aunique Helps embraced a rocker chic vibe in a studded Forever 21 jacket and cap toe booties.

Photographer Rayon Richards posed in a pair of Cassius glasses I must have!!

Publicist Tunisia Wilson exuded cool in a leather sleeve jacket, red lips, and Ray Ban sunnies.

I loved this young man’s Comme des Garcons Play emblem button down, playful cardigan, and red sneakers.

Stylist Weyni Elder looked saucy in a Torn by Ronny Kobo Floral Pointelle Dress, a chunky Versace necklace, and Charlotte Olympia Lucinda booties. Not pictured: her fly mirrored gold Proenza Schouler PS11!

I was a fan of this fly guy’s cool glasses and earth tones.

And stylist Lolita bet on all black, incorporating textures like leather along with mongolian fur (I loved her DVF vest!)

After taking pix of the fashionable crowd, I posed with the hostess with the mostess, Daisy herself, who looked vibrant in a Rachel Roy sculpted sheath dress (love!).

As for me, I took inspiration from our What to Wear to Fashion Week post, and rocked an Emma Cook Printed Geogette Blouse I snagged on Cyber Monday, along with a Milly leather skirt (first worn here), and Valentino zebra rockstuds (first worn here).

You might notice my hair is a little brighter! Yes, I went platinum, with the help of Sammy at Noel New York. To bless the season, I applied a bit of dark lipstick. I love Cyber by MAC!

It was a fun time!

You Should Know: Accessories Designer Sophia Webster

A stylish woman needs a great shoe collection, but the same old brands can get predictable. If you’re a girl after my own heart, then discovering new designers is a hobby. Sophia Webster is definitely one to watch with her playful line of footwear, sure to give more than a few points to your shoe game.

From neon hues to cutout detailing, Webster’s creations are for those who love to stand out.

Webster already has a pretty impressive resumé, having had her final student collection at the Royal College of Art picked up by Browns, as well as working with Fashion Bomb favorite Nicholas Kirkwood as his assistant. You can definitely see elements of his tutelage in her first full collection, titled “Welcome to the Dollhouse”.

Kirkwood aficionados including Beyoncé and Solange Knowles, LaLa Anthony, and Khloe Kardashian need to get their feet in these designs, stat!

You can also snag some cute clutches from Webster. A couple box styles are named “Azealia”: after Yung Rapunxel herself perhaps?

Shop Sophia Webster here.

You know I’m living for these pieces! What do you think?

Hot! or Hmm… Nicki Minaj’s 2012 ARIA Awards Camilla Spring 2012 Rainbow Crepe Top and Crystal Embellished Leggings

Nicki Minaj is always on the move! The rapstress was on hand at last night’s Australian Record Industry Association awards (ARIA) rocking a Camilla Spring 2012 Rainbow Crepe Top and Crystal Embellished Leggings.

Her multi-colored rainbow crepe top comes complete with fringe detailing.

The rainbow gathering crystal embellished leggings she wore are made from viscose lycra.

Hmm… At this point we’re all accustomed to seeing Nicki in colorful ensembles, but this shiny wig is not doing it for me at all. I’m wondering if she’ll serve us more of that Monique Lhuillier glamour a la the AMAs.

Angie’s World: My Diet and Workout Regimen

Hi Fashion Bombers!!  Thank you for sharing your favorite scents with me yesterday. I was reading your responses and loving some of your choices. Wow, this week has flown by, no? I’m working on so many projects right now and can’t wait to share them with you.

UP NEXT: Angelaiam.com. I’m excited!!

At any rate, as you may know, I am very into fitness and nutrition.

My friends and family will tell you I’m always preaching about good health and constantly trying to find new ways to work out! But sometimes I find myself stuck in the same old boring routine.

Now that I’ve moved to NYC, my fitness routine has changed dramatically. In LA I did a lot of outdoor work outs and personal training with Mike T (@forcefitnessinc), who I’ve worked with for over 6 years.

Now, I box. I’ve found a love for Box/Kickboxing. Boxing really helps me tone up. My trainer Nelson (@itscoachnelson) is teaching me the true dynamic of the sport.

I’m always changing the results I want to see with my body. So switching up my exercise routine is great!

As for my diet, I have been a vegetarian for 3 years. I became a vegetarian because of my Uncle Russell. He showed my family a video on vegetarians and I was hooked!

I am a very picky eater. My favorite vegetarian restaurant, Veggie Grill, is sadly in LA. I could eat there everyday. I’m waiting on Veggie Grill to open in NYC. Its an amazing vegan food place.

Have any of you recently become vegetarian? How do you stay in shape? Please tell me your experiences.

~Angie

Fashion Bombshell of the Day: Danielle from New York

Sorry for the delay with today’s Bombshell! There’s a lot going on here, but we’ve pulled it together:) Take a look at Danielle from New York:

She says, “With the not-so-gentle nudging of friends, I’ve mustered the strength to submit my blog (www.dani-dk.com) and my signature look to your site for all the world to see.”

“… As my blog www.dani-dk.com states, my style is undefined.”

” A tomboy at heart, I didn’t really kick my sneaker habit until college.”

“… Even now that I’ve fallen head over heels (pun intended) for a bit more glamour, I can’t resist the urge to go sporty sometimes…”

“… but now with a touch of glamour. “

“I love shopping for both high and low-end products.”

” I think my best friend described my style best when she said, “Picture a yummy mélange of femme fatale and girl next door – high on style, low on fuss, and timelessly chic.””

“I would love the chance to be featured as the Fashion Bomb’s “Fashion Bombshell of The Day”.”

You’re gorgeous! I love your writing style, along with your instances of camouflage. From laid back to glam, you work it!

” I’m not sure what my style is, but I know that I am drawn to feminine, fun pieces.”

” I love rainbows, sparkles, ruffles, high heels, and big hair. Honestly, in my past life, I must’ve been a fabulous gay man who moonlit as a drag queen on the weekends. lol.”
