She debuted bump #2 at last night’s SuperBowl, as part of their halftime performance. She looked fierce and incredible in a custom Loewe look and Salomon x Maison Margiela sneakers, performing songs like “Work,” “B—- better have my money,” and “Run this town.” Mirroring the singer, Rihanna’s back-up dancers also channeled streetwear with white monochromatic parachute cargo pants with boxer briefs that held together with chains, perfectly paired with mesh tanks and oversized hooded bombers. Her back-up dancers’ futuristic sunglasses were on fleek as they moved rhythmically up and down the stage in their urban looks.
She later slipped on a floor length Alaia coat at a tribute to her friend, the late Vogue Fashion Editor Andre Leon Talley:
Although the main event was of course the Super Bowl LVII championship between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs, fans would beg to differ that it was in fact, “Rihanna Day.” With months of anticipation, the nine-time Grammy winning artist finally materialized in true fashion form, but this time, with the symbolic announcement of her second pregnancy by rapper A$AP Rocky. Check out some video below:
Over the weekend, I was blessed to sit front row at the Sergio Hudson Fall 2023 show.
The offering harkened back to the 80’s with bold neon colors, print, and Barbie like hair. The season, Hudson introduced logo’d pieces and new prints, along with bright hued gowns with cut outs that I can see gracing any red carpet.
Another week, another men’s style highlight. This week we’re honoring designer and NYC style star Joseph McRae.
Photo: joseph_mcrae on Instagram
McRae’s style is the kind of refined maximalism you’ll find within his namesake clothing line. Tailoring is pristine and sharp, with proportion play often being a main element alongside sentimental patterns. His signature look seems to be when he pairs relaxed trousers with tops that feature outsized sleeves or shoulders.

However, McRae is no one trick pony. He dabbles in streetwear and still incorporates his appreciation for cultural print.

Exuberant and beaming with bright and neon palettes, Sergio Hudson set his NYFW runway show ablaze with colorful garments at Spring Studios, leaving us all to remember that he is undoubtedly a force to be reckoned with, and ahead of his time.
From a coalition of zealous supporters who filled the room, to celebrity attendees, and the hottest stylists of the moment, Hudson’s show was overflowing with devotees who’ve precisely recognized Hudson’s undeniable contributions to luxury womenswear.
The South Carolina designer who is known for designing for celebs like Beyonce, Michelle Obama, and Rihanna, presented jaw-dropping, and graffiti inspired looks as an ode to the late 90’s. Channeling nostalgia for the vibrant era with neon colors, and shoulder pads.

In a true testament to the era, Hudson’s vibrant lineup also seems to honor the cult classic fashion of the hit 90s movie Clueless. Tailored skirt sets with structured shoulders dominated the catwalk. Aoki Simmons, following in her model mother’s footsteps, strutted down the runway in a black jacket dress cinched at the waist with a bright purple belt.

Hudson also made way for a line of baby tees covered in graffiti-graphics, which played another major nod to the 90s. Yet, in his sea of suiting and t-shirts, Sergio Hudson does not skimp on the sexy. This designer is yet another to grab hold of the no-pants trend and had models showing off their lovely legs in high-waist black briefs with nylons. Elsewhere in the collection he explored plunging cowl neck mini dresses and sequin eveningwear with thigh-high slits.

Hudson was initially inspired by Brooklynite and award-winning graphic designer Jason Naylors, whose global murals are known for spreading color and positivity through inspirational messages. In fact, the runway floor was covered in one of Naylor’s designs, which reinforced the theme of the evening.
Highly anticipated with an aesthetically pleasing collection, PatBo shined so bright at New York Fashion Week that some of Patricia Bonaldi’s competitors may have to wear sunglasses in her presence.
That’s right! Founder and Creative Director Patricia Bonaldi, who’s fashion line PatBo is an abbreviation of her name, presented her Brazil-inspired collection inside the Atrium at Surrogate’s Court in Manhattan. The designer, who launched her line in 2001, has unapologetically reigned supreme in the fashion industry for her exceptional and impressive craftsmanship.

Bonaldi’s haute moment exuded modern day Hollywood, and gave us a fresh look at her beautifully crafted party-wear. Her designs, which were handmade by the best artisans of Brazil’s embroidery capital, included everything from embellished rhinestone gowns to strategically adorned velvet suits rich and lavish in brilliant colors. PatBo embellished on every fabric you can think of including sheer, velvet, silk and denim.

From sequins on sequins looks, that look as if they came out of a fashion-forward matrix, to double denim that’s perfectly embossed with rhinestones from the bralette to the pants, and off-the-shoulder coat, PatBo’s FW23 indulges in custom embroidery.
With 20 years in the game, Bonaldi’s next-level designs have gained the attention of celebs and influencers everywhere. From celebrities like Ciara, who has rocked one of PatBo’s cutout swimsuits while vacationing in Brazil, to Kelly Rowland, who shut down the internet in a remarkable custom beaded bandeau top and embellished layered skirt from Patbo’s previous Spring 2023 collection, it’s no surprise that Patbo is on everyone’s radar.
Bonaldi incorporated bedazzled bralettes and bandeau tops throughout her signified looks with pants and layered skirt completions that came in several silhouettes. Her outstanding use and implementation of multicolored beading at the hemlines of some of her garments demonstrates how Bonaldi’s talent has only elevated since the inception of PatBo.
Patbo took calculated risks with their extraordinary designs that embodied phenomenal hand-beading work with sculptural embellishments. Bonaldi is an avant-garde designer who has undeniably become a force in the industry.
Omar Salam is a man about the details, and this season he didn’t spare the ones that make a statement. For his label Sukeina’s Fall 2023 lineup, the French designer coated his collection is oversize zippers, fun fur, and gold trimmings.

This season, Salam toyed with the idea of perception. What does the Sukeina woman say to the world, and how does she frame these statements? In a world so driven by social media and the constant oversharing of our lives, Salam used exposed zippers to represent the notion of access. The use of sharp tailoring in both suiting and outerwear speaks to the clarity of the Sukeina woman. She’s direct, she’s sleek, and undoubtedly knows how to dress.

The extensive zippers ––though frequently used–– are only one of the main embellishments. Fur is used aplenty atop tailored sleeves and dress hems.

Coco Rocha closed the show in a black and fuchsia gown that didn’t spare any of the collection’s spotlighted details. Black fur lines the top of the confectionary skirt, and the sleeves are covered in sequin, while the crisp white collar speaks to the tailoring. Sukeina’s known in fashion as one of its “best kept secrets.” Here’s hoping this collection gets everybody talking out loud.

Everyone can broadcast their gaming in real time for everyone else to watch. Aim to cultivate a sizable following or a dedicated audience. The most popular platform for live streaming is Twitch, but users also have the option of using YouTube.
Getting people to watch a live stream takes time. You might not get 10 people watching simultaneously for months or 100 people for years. Most streamers never get to that point, and you need thousands of regular viewers to make a living by streaming video games.
Nowadays, there are too many people streaming. Why should I watch you when there are other popular streams? It’s hard. Be the best gamer in the world, have a unique sense of humor, or play games that nobody else does.

Engage in a game of e-sports
If you’re the kind of person who routinely crushes their buddies in Call of Duty or other online shooter events, consider looking at e-sports as a career option.
In e-sports tournaments, both pro and amateur gamers compete for prize pools worth millions of dollars. Millions of people tune in online to watch these things as they happen in real-time. Some of the most popular games in e-sports are first-person shooters, fighting games, and card games.
As of 2020, the highest-earning e-sports player has earned a career total of over $6,000,000. In the United States, the best e-sports competitions offer cash prizes of up to $200,000.
When there are five or six people in a tournament, the prize pool is bigger, and the prizes can be split more evenly. Although not every competitor will walk away with a six-figure prize, big bucks are up for grabs.
Take part in online card competitions
If you can’t get to a casino or other place to gamble, you can still play poker tournaments and other gambling games online and win real money. Participate in the Field of Games Journalism
Assuming you enjoy writing and are a dedicated gamer or lover of video games or e-sports, you should look into a career as a video game journalist. If you are a serious gamer, generating money through online games is something you should look into. People who like to perform in front of an audience or compete in tournaments can play games that pay real money. There are also opportunities for those interested in working more behind the scenes.
Be sure that the expectations you have of yourself are grounded in reality. You will unlikely make a six-figure income from online gaming unless you work full-time in this field.
But let’s say you’re ready to put in the time, effort, and commitment needed to build your platform and skills and connect with an audience. In that case, your online gaming addiction can become a respectable way to make money online.
Animal print has become Fashion Week commonplace, and the usual options are the iconic leopard and zebra, but Prabal Gurung looked to the sky this season. Across the runway, butterfly prints and patterns adorned a diverse range of styles and sizes. Draped knits, sashes, and dresses feature the wing design in a mosaic style.

Elsewhere, tailoring is bold-shouldered and sharp. Bold also speaks to the color story of this lineup. Vibrancy is varied and not spared even for an evening. Gurung embraces the trending pantless look and pairs it with one of the many fun outerwear pieces. The outerwear ranges in classic patterns with playful updates and cropped saturated furs.

Lace slip dresses and several night-out tops decorate this offering making it a party-forward lineup that’s sure to speak to the current It Girl class.
A new direction is being explored at Simkhai. Previously known as Jonathan Simkhai, the beloved American label has recently dropped the ‘Jonathan’ in its brand name and ushered in a new logo. This sense of breaking down the old to reveal the new is carried within the brand’s Fall 2023 collection.

The show opened with gowns cut through the middle and joined by metal beads. Elsewhere in the collection blazers are sliced to create jacket and skirt sets. The look comes in both day and evening options.

Simkhai’s usual taste for tailoring is done in a new direction. Experimenting with oversize belts atop bold shoulder trench coats and blazer mini dresses provided an overall NYC chic. Hardware embellishes leather looks as a cowl neck red leather dress is one of the collection’s standouts.

The collection also deconstructs style. Nearly every model wore heavy boots regardless if they wore evening gowns or moto leather looks, breaking down the linear style idea, as we’ve seen before at houses like Balenciaga and Gucci. Simkhai’s finale, however, offers a touch of glam. The new ‘S’ logo, designed in a bedazzled monogram, decorates outerwear and eveningwear.
A silver banquet decorated the Williamsburg Savings Bank. Chromatic tablecloths lay across silver tables that held silver food on mirror-effect trays. The whimsical runway scene was what you’d expect from Rodarte, but it was nothing compared to the gothic ethereality that walked among it.
For Fall 2023, Kate and Laura Mullevy commissioned their artist mother to draw them some fairies. These playful illustrations were used across the collection atop flowy cold-shoulder caftans and ruffle trim dresses.

But this isn’t a collection for just any kind of fairy. This lineup speaks to the dark and gothy. Each model strutted the runway in dark eye makeup and black lipstick. Black gowns in jersey and velvet opened the show, each with bell sleeves so dramatic they swept the runway with each stride.

Black V-shaped lace insets, mutton, sleeves, and double-breasted wool coats, touch on a Victorian feel, while beaded slip dresses and full tulle robes speak to an Old Hollywood glam.

The collection was already a spectacle, but the real drama came when over-the-top metallic fringe made its way down the runway in the shape of bold shoulder gowns and glamorous cape coats.

In true Rodarte style, this collection reflects the fun and whimsy of fashion. Something often compromised these days in place of quick trend turnovers and the constant focus on making the next It item. If Rodarte’s fairy world is one where fashion is first, sign me up.
