Considering the Smith’s won our Best Dressed Couple Award this year, it made perfect sense for us to take a closer look at half the power-duo for today’s Fab List: Jada Pinkett Smith.
What exactly has Jada NOT done? The beautiful actress, songwriter, businesswoman and social advocate has been on the scene for quite some time; many of us can think of at least one notable thing we’ve seen her in, whether A Different World, The Nutty Professor, Menace II Society or her metal rock band Wicked Wisdom.
Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Jada was raised by her mother along with the assistance of her grandmother, both who saw the passion she had for the arts. She attended the Baltimore School For the Arts, where she met and became lifelong friends with Tupac Shakur. She then went on to continue her studies at the North Carolina School of the Arts, but eventually, she packed up her things and with her mother’s blessing, moved to Los Angeles to get her start in show business. She started her acting career in the 90s, appearing in television shows that garnered excellent reviews of her acting ability. A few years down the road, she would play alongside Eddie Murphy in the ’96 hit, The Nutty Professor. Many of us also remembered her amazing role in the movie Set It Off, where she played alongside other greats such as Queen Latifah, Vivica A. Fox and Kimberly Elise. She’s also appeared in The Matrix movies, Ali, The Women, and created her directorial debut in The Human Contract (starring Idris Elba and Paz Vega) which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2008. She was the executive producer and starring member of Hawthorne, and also starred in the first season of Gotham, a crime drama currently on Fox.
Along with an amazing discography way too long for us to even cite, she participates in her Red Table Talk web series, where she discusses topics of life with her daughter and mother in an effort to stimulate household conversation and conversations for women. She’s also the owner and founder of her own music company, 100% Womon Productions, fashion label, Maja, non-profit organization The Will and Jada Smith Family Foundation, author of the book Girls Hold Up This World, activist for PETA and “Chime for Change”, and so much more!So what can we actually say about Jada Pinkett Smith aside from the fact she is SERIOUSLY #goals? Her class, effortless beauty, and take over the world mentality makes her a huge role model for not just young women of color, but for all to live their lives with purpose, passion, and fabulosity. Let’s take a look at 25 times she grabbed our attention not just with her cool ways, but with her cool threads as well.
The sequined jumpsuit features a round neckline, sleeveless silhouette, cut-in shoulders, seam across the natural waist, a fitted silhouette, and flare legs.
