Last night the Fashion Bomb Daily team was invited to cover BET’s How to Rock Denim Fashion Show at Milk Studios!

Hosted by Karrueche Tran, Quincy Brown, Stephon Mendoza, and Jessica White, and styled by June Ambrose, the presentation highlighted both high fashion and high street ways of rocking denim, from pairing close fit capris with swaddling ponchos to placing sequin addled jeans with punchy sweatshirts!

With performances by Desiigner and Kent Jones, and appearances by Young Thug and Dej Loaf, the night was full of fabulous fashion, music, and fun.

June Ambrose and team truly managed to make denim runway ready by way of pencil skirts, snazzy heels, and loads of sparkles. My favorite looks include Ashish’s Kimye sweatshirt paired with Vogue Jeans, a denim button down worn with a ruffled hem patterned skirt and pom pom pumps, and a pair of thigh high boots from TwelveAm.co worn with a sequined Ashish mini (see even more looks in the gallery above)!



The style translated off the runway into real life.

This stylista made a statement in a floral decorated jacket and jeans affixed with a front apron. A denim choker, dotted bandeau top, and gold clogs completed her look.

Distressed denim was on tap for this fashionista, who wore expertly ripped jeans with a sheer duster, leather jacket, and a show stopping hat.

Somaya Reece was in the building! Black on black is always bomb.
Backstage…

DJ and twin sunglass designers Coco and Breezy opted for jumpsuits and dope shades.

I grabbed a pic with model Jessica White and BET CEO Debra Lee.

Said hellerrr to celebrity stylists June Ambrose and Bryon Javar.

And blew kisses with Karrueche. We were twinning in denim jumpsuits!

Rita Ora is at it again, skulking the streets of New York in some high fashion duds during tapings of America’s Next Top Model.  The new judge of the show opted to showcase her curves in a Norma Kamali Resort 2017 Red Turtleneck Jumpsuit.
Offset with a high neck, this jumpsuit, comprised of stretchy fabric, seems to hug curves in all the right places without being too racy.  And with a bold color like red, the need for embellishments isn’t necessary.
Look after look, Miss Ora has been delivering.  But does this look stand up to the rest? I think she looks red hot! You don’t need bells and whistles to slay.  Sometimes, a pared down look with somewhat of a relaxed aesthetic is all you need.  A slightly messy top bun, large gold hoops, and gold sandals complete her look.  What say you?  Are you feeling it?

Olivia Culpo was snapped out and about in Santa Monica in the same $695 Cushnie et Ochs White Cutout Collar Bodysuit Bella Hadid originally sported back in June:

Olivia paired the one-piece with a Misha Collection Black Sheer Lace Jacket, a black belted skirt, and Gianvito Rossi booties. Bella complemented the design with black leather pants, a $1,534 Givenchy Bow Cut Leopard Print Shoulder Bag and Dior Black Glazed Calfskin Ankle Boots.

The white ribbed bodysuit features cutout detailing, a high neckline, and long sleeves.

Bella wins this round for me: Olivia’s look has one too many focal points.

Olivia Palermo vacationed in Greece in the same Zara Zebra Pattern Jacquard Mini Skirt she originally sported back in 2013:

This time around, she paired the skirt with $275 Westward Leaning Vanguard 13 Sunglasses, a $263 Self-Portrait Balloon Sleeve Lace Panel Top, and a Céline Solo Smooth Lambskin Bi-Color Clutch. Back in 2013, she complemented it with a black sequin blazer, Western-inspired belt, Givenchy Antigona Croc Bag, and snakeskin-embossed flats.

Her mini skirt features an allover black and white zebra print jacquard.

Straight from the Hamptons to Italy, the vacation adventures of The Carters seem to never end.  Snapped while boating the waters of Capri, Beyoncé was snapped with Jay-Z and Blue Ivy luxuriating in the summer sun while wearing a $660 (previously $1100) Alberta Ferretti Beige Silk Shirt Dress covering a $175 Zimmermann Ticking Wrap Cutout Striped Swimsuit. Elegant and understated, this silk dress from Alberta Ferretti is styled with a maxi length and colored in timeless camel beige.  The shirt-inspired silhouette adds a nonchalant edge to the luxurious finish.Queen Bey also gave us a tiny flash of her Zimmermann swimsuit worn underneath her shirtdress.  Zimmermann’s ‘Ticking Wrap’ swimsuit has been expertly crafted and vibrantly patterned with slimming stripes.Daring yet super flattering, it’s designed with cutouts to create the illusion of an hourglass silhouette. Complement the plunging neckline with a long necklace or add an extender like Beyoncé did, for a better fit for curvier frames. As we live vicariously through these pics of #vacaygoals with “oohs” and “aahs” exiting our lips, when your concerts gross around $5 million a show, dropping a total of $835 for swimwear and a coverup may not seem like much of a splurge. George Clooney continues to prove to be more than a thespian, displaying his charitable side during a fundraiser for Darfur he and wife, Amal, hosted at the very posh Villa Camilla in Lake Como, Italy.  George looked dapper in a light blue linen suit, but Amal personified daytime elegance in a $560 Great Unknown Ivory Vintage Tassel Dress and a $1,295 pair of Marchesa ‘Clara’ Gold Floral Laser Cut Sandals.Influenced by the 1920s flapper silhouette, yet constructed circa 1960, the dress has a straight cut and features layers of tassels, creating movement when worn. Gold bugle beads trim the neckline and straps of the dress adding a touch of sparkle. Staying light on her feet and dancing the afternoon away, Amal donned a glitzy pair of golden Marchesa sandals.This peep toe lace up sandal features a four inch heel and a nappa leather upper.  Floral laser cut details and tonal gilly lace add ultra feminine aesthetics to an already gilded shoe.With a side part, wavy curls and minimal jewels, it’s not difficult to swoon over this look today.  But at a total of $1,855, is Amal’s look worth the splurge? Given the fact her dress is a vintage piece begs to answer ‘yes’ to the question, and you agree, you can purchase the dress here and her strappy Marchesa sandals here.
