I just returned from a sun filled and action packed weekend down in Miami for the Revolt Music Conference! Every day was chock full of activities, and I’m honestly a bit overwhelmed recounting it all! But as the popular phrase goes, begin at the beginning and at the end…stop.
So let’s go!
Day 1, I spoke on a panel called Women in Social Media along with Necole Kane of XONecole.com, reality starlet Tahiry Jose, Media Maven Amy Dubois Barnett, reality star and artist Cardi B, and Angie from The Shade Room.
Though each woman on the panel offers something different to the digital community, we all triumph because of our authenticity! We are unapologetically ourselves. Consistency and quality are also keys to our success.
Someone in the audience asked how to we stay ahead of the curve. I offered that we continue to evolve our brands and go to where people are. So if readers aren’t on the website as much, they can find us on Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook Live, and more! To wit, we are going to be doing a lot more on those platforms, but will of course put the most important info right here!
For the day, I offered classic with a kick with a Sergio Hudson button down, House of CB skirt, and Versace sandals.
It was very Miami Vice, no?
At any rate, the whole time was fun, and had loads of highlights including kicking it with Kehlani, Yara Shahadi, Trina, and DJ KHALED!!!!

Tidal had an electrifying concert this weekend, with performances by Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, and more!
Take a look at what the leading ladies rocked on the red carpet:
Nicki Minaj skewed scandalous in a sheer Margiela catsuit and Prada lace up shoes. This was racy!
She opted for all white later in the night in a vintage jacket, custom bodysuit, and Sophia Webster heels. I liked this.
T.I. smiled bright in a rose embellished Bomber jacket.
Bebe Rexha embraced the velvet trend in a Queen Russia top and short set. She’s hot!
Beyonce went for sheer simplicity in a dress by Guillermo Gattioni.
Lastly, Justine Skye looked bomb in a Moschino jacket and a high slit skirt.
The concert was pretty dope! I’m sure you guys all saw Nicki’s….performance.

Lupita Nyong’o stopped us all dead in our tracks as she graced the red carpet for the 2016 BFI London Film Festival’s premiere of her touching film, Queen of Katwe. The actress donned a structured, multicolored bralet and eccentric soft blue wide-leg trousers from Rosie Assoulin’s Resort 2017 presentation. She also topped off her jaw-dropping frock with a patterned gele, turquoise drop earrings and a glossy red lip. Hot!
2) Daphne Joy in Willfredo Gerardo
The gorgeous Daphne Joy was an absolute vision as she sat front row for Willfredo Gerardo’s recent fashion show. The Phillipine-born beauty shut it all the way down in a plunging $3,000 French lace embroidered gown and soft, billowy curls. Now, I’ve been raving that I’m “officially” over the sheer trend but this chick just pulled this off so effortlessly! It’s kind of hard not love this pick.
3) Taraji P. Henson in Bibhu Mohapatra
Taraji P. Henson has been on quite the fashionable roll as of late, hasn’t she? For her quick appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, the Hidden Figures star slipped into a bedazzled midi dress from Bibhu Mohapatra’s Spring 2016 collection. The shimmering piece includes honeycomb detailing along the neckline, a two-toned silver sequin palette and a clean silhouette. Taraji also slayed every single one of our lives as she playfully flaunted a freshly-cut black bob and ankle strap sandals. Werk it!
4) Adrienne Bailon in Missguided
The Real co-host Adrienne Bailon celebrated endless love and her engagement to gospel singer Israel Houghton in a $68 curve-hugging Missguided white lace dress and nude ankle strap sandals. The fashionista gave her Instagram followers a brief glimpse into the chic soiree including a few of her favorite moments which included one of the most stunning cakes I’ve ever laid eyes on. Anywho, a huge congrats is in order for the happy couple! And, I’m sure the wedding will be just as spectacular. We see you, Adrienne! Love it!

The Gucci takeover continues! Cardi B attended the Revolt Conference in Miami wearing a $3,200 GucciGhost Printed Silk Dress:
The black, long sleeve, silk dress features the GucciGhost logo in baby blue along with red print and a self-tie around the neck.
Cardi kept it classy with a black veiled hat and black pumps.
Obsessed! The celebs are loving the GucciGhost collection and so am I.

Kristen Stewart stepped out to promote her new film, Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime, dressed in a Rodarte Spring 2017 Lace Ruffle Blouse and White Trousers:
The winter-white, cropped, lace blouse features a ruffle detail as well as one short sleeve and one long sleeve. Her extravagant white pants have safety pin detailing lined on the front and side.
While I’m not a huge fan of this look, I love the combination of soft lace ruffles and edgy safety pins.
