Its not every day the Drake name drops a top celebrity hairstylist in his latest hit single – or any rapper for that matter! That’s only one reason why we know that Arrogant Tae is the real deal when it comes to hair styling. Known for his seamless wig installs, it’s no wonder that Tae boasts Nicki Minaj, LaLa Anthony, Dream Doll and more as some of his regulars.

With previous Faby Awards wins already under his belt, this mane slayer is back, back, back again for another round!

Ray Christopher

Our next nominee is a two time Emmy award and three time Guild award winning hairstylist to the stars. More commonly known under his Instagram handle @hair4kicks, Ray Christopher has been in the game for more than 14 years and has coiffed the likes of daytime talk show host Adrienne from “The Real”, Lori Harvey and Tiffany Haddish as well as Letoya Luckett, Mindy Kaling and the list goes on!

Household names such as Prince, Celine Dion and Mariah Carey are just a handful of the legends that have sat in his chair.

Neal Farinah

Having served as Beyoncé’s hairstylist for an extensive period, Neal Farinah has breathed life into numerous hairstyles for the iconic Queen Bey, spanning tours, albums, and various eras, culminating in this year’s Renaissance rebirth. Farinah’s expertise extends beyond Beyoncé, as he has showcased his skills on notable figures such as Nicki Minaj, Solange Knowles, Tina Knowles, Uzo Aduba, and Mary J. Blige. His impact reverberates through the industry, leaving an indelible mark on each canvas he touches.

Whether delving into hair care or executing flawless sew-in installs, Neal Farinah emerges as a versatile stylist who excels across the spectrum of hairstyling.

Kellon Derryck

Atlanta’s very own Kellon Deryck is the creative force behind the Flawless Illusion brand. He’s also the one masterfully working his magic on the ever-stylish Megan Thee Stallion as an integral member of her glam team for red carpets, performances and more.

Beyond Megan Thee Stallion, Deryck boasts an impressive clientele, including the likes of City Girls and the legendary Missy Elliott. Regardless of the chosen style, Kellon Deryck consistently delivers a blend of artistry and magic, ensuring each client is prepared to command attention with his undeniable touch.

Tym Wallace

When you’ve been “Tossed by Tym”, you know Tym Wallace was present and greatness was made. From “go big or go home” natural styles to waves full of body, Tym Wallace always makes sure his clients are “the” moment wherever they go.

Tokyo Stylez

In 2021, Tokyo Stylez was crowned the Faby Awards Hairstylist of the year for all the looks she helped bring to life on our favorite celebrities. After gaining massive popularity through Cardi B as her main hairstylist, Tokyo has gone on to work the manes of Victoria Monet, Flo Milli, Coi Leray, Kylie Jenner, GloRilla and so many more.

Tokyo an OG in the industry, and she’s known to make any hair concept, no matter how long, colorful, complex or out of this world, happen!

Sean Christopher Fears

Sean Christopher Fears is making a name for himself in the Hollywood hair game. With a tender 6 years in the industry, this New York native has already amassed high profile attention for his undeniable gift in hairstyling. Some of the names he’s worked with include Cardi B, Kendall Jenner, Lil Kim, Alicia Keys, Tokyo Stylez, Rihanna, Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid, Ashley Graham and more!

As we wrap up 2023, the time has officially come for us to vote for the FABY’s ‘Fashionista of the Year,’ and based on the fierce competition, this won’t be easy.

From Beyoncé serving cutting edge realness on her Renaissance tour, to Rihanna styling her baby bump in the most avant-garde way, and Cardi B putting the “C” in couture, celebrities didn’t disappoint as they arrived on the scene with style, and grace.

The Fashionista’s below, also known as the trendsetters, stylista’s and trailblazers in the entertainment industry are individuals who have stayed ahead of the curve, showcasing their bold sense of fashion in the most captivating looks. However, it’s up to our readers to decide which fashionista was the best amongst the bunch.

Beyoncé

Earlier this year in February when Beyoncé announced her Renaissance World Tour, no one could have imagine how hard she would come, but in true fashion, she had the hottest looks in rotation. The Houston native kicked off her tour in Stockholm, Sweden and from the moment she took the stage, we knew she was going to shut it down.

From custom Alexander McQueen, Balmain, Valdrin Sahiti, to a shimmering catsuit by Loewe, and a fully monogramed Ivy Park costume, the cutting edge looks were endless. Her creative team which consists of stylists like Shiona Turini, Julia Sarr Jamois, and KJ Moody ensured that Bey looked elevated and fashion-forward throughout the entire tour. It’s estimated that Beyoncé wore over 140 stage outfits which is more than enough to fill an art museum. If anyone made the stage their canvas, it was certainly Beyoncé .

Rihanna

With an estimated net worth of 1.4 billion dollars, Rihanna can wear absolutely any designer that she desires. As one of the youngest self-made billionaires, the ‘Fenty Beauty’ founder manages to keep things hip and fresh. Despite being pregnant both this year and last with her and A$AP Rocky’s children, RiRi hasn’t let up. The Barbados Princess turned it up a notch with her regal red carpet moments, and we love how she accessorized her baby bump in the most innovative, and eye-popping way.

In February of this year, everyone was anticipating Rihanna’s half time performance at the Super Bowl, but no one could have expected her explosive reveal. Dressed in an all red monochromatic Loewe jumpsuit in honor of the late Andre Leon Talley, Rihanna left fans and media outlets alike in a frenzy as she debuted her second pregnancy.

But leave it to the ‘Diamonds’ singer to glisten and shine throughout her three trimesters with her ultra stylish wardrobe consisting of cropped tops, baggy jeans, thigh-high boots, and Timberlands. If anyone took maternity wear to the next level, it’s was Rihanna and for that reason alone, RIRI get’s two snaps & a twirl.

Cardi B

Since Cardi B first landed on the scene in 2015, to now, the ‘Bodak Yellow’ star has evolved into a style icon. Perhaps it thanks to her stylist Kollin Carter who always ensures that she’s dripped in the most notable designs.

We love Cardi B for her authenticity, but we also appreciate her ability to take risks in the fashion world. Her tribute to the late Karl Lagerfeld at the Met Gala was transformative, consisting of four different over the top looks that each showed off a poised, elegant and posh side to Cardi B. Not to mention how fierce she looked during Paris Fashion Week, and all her wonderful looks while promoting her latest music video “Bongos.”

Lori Harvey

When is Lori Harvey not the talk of social media? The model and SKKN founder has been in the limelight all year while previously dating Actor Damson Idris. Every time we saw her, she was on a tropical baecation. From the chicest swimsuits and straw hats, to jazzing it up while out on the town in the sexiest sun dresses, Harvey continues to leave a tantalizing spell on all her secret admirers with her ultra stylish wardrobe.

Kim Kardashian

Kim K has had an eventful year in the fashion world, curating a Dolce & Gabbana collection, and also becoming the face of Marc Jacobs Fall 2023 campaign. Not to mention all the sickening ALAÏA that she rocked all year long, and Swarovski X Skim partnership that left her dripped in the finest diamonds. Kim Kardashian reminded us this year that she’s still “THAT GIRL!”

Kelly Rowland

Kelly Rowland doesn’t seem to age, and every time we turn our heads, we’re enamored by how stunning and incredible she manages to pull herself together. The former Destiny Child member has shined this year in designers like Georges Hobeika, LaQuan Smith, Rahul Mishra, and Annakiki. Kelly wasn’t afraid to take risks this year, and that’s why she’s on our fashionista list for 2023.

Fantasia Barrino

2023 has been Fantasia’s year, and she’s definitely ending the year off with a BANG! With her latest film “The Color Purple,” she shined ever so brightly as the leading lady “Celie.” The American Idol winner, turned Actress has been on a press tour all year long, serving high couture in some of the most exquisite ensembles.

Her team which consists of Fashion Stylist Daniel Hawkins, Hairstylist Derickus Crawford, Makeup artist TLC Divo and photographer Salvatore DeMaio, are an excellent partnership. We’ve never seen Fantasia look better and what makes Fantasia a fashionista is her confidence, and ability to deliver “WOW” factor every single time.

Keke Palmer

Keke Palmer is on the rise, and if you thought she came with fierce looks in 2023, you just may want to brace yourself for 2024. The Actress, Singer, and TV Host gave birth to her son Baby Leo in February, and her snatch back game was real. Not only did she quickly shed pounds after giving birth, and embrace her new found hips, but she also shone brightly in practically everything she wore. KeKe was the quintessential poster girl for designer Sergio Hudson, as she flourished in a variety of Hudson’s beautifully crafted designs.

Teyana Taylor

With the nickname, “Spike Tey,” Creative Director, Singer, and Actress Teyana Taylor is in her own lane, and the queen of her domain. It was great to witness all the fruits of all her labor this year with Taylor starring in “A Thousand Roses,” and winning a BET Award for “Video Director of the Year.” Not to mention how fashion-forward she looked all year long in a variety of Thom Browne and Rick Owens looks. Teyana Taylor is proud to say that she styles herself, and has opened doors that few could have opened alone. Her distinct style and individuality make her one of the best dressed fashionistas of 2023, and of our generation.

Savannah James

Wife to Lebron James, Savannah James is the epitome of a ride-or-die who has been by her man’s side since their High School days. Her natural beauty shines through and this year we saw Savannah’s style progress in a sophisticated and polished way, thanks to Celebrity stylist Icon Tips. From opting for luxurious suits, to glamming it up on the red carpet, and dabbling with bold colors, Savannah like her husband may be one of the MVP’s in the fashion world.

JLO

Jenny from the block has definitely spiced things up with her wardrobe, keeping things haute for her husband Ben Affleck. With a dancer body that includes abs for days, we saw Jennifer Lopez showing off her curves in designers like Magda Butrym, Schiaparelli, and Valentino. She incorporated cutouts, ruffles, and chiffon into her style, and we appreciated how refined and elevated JLO looked this year.

Mary J. Blige

One thing about Mary J. Blige is that she’s going to pull out the fur and thigh high boots as she two-steps across a stage, and she did exactly that. The R&B singer’s style has evolved over the years to reflect the true DIVA that she is. Her stylists Mauricia Henry and Jeremy Haynes did quite an incredible job with finding flattering garments that looked classy and modern on the “Real Love” singer. From bodysuits paired with short shorts, to embellished gowns paired with Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry, Mary showed the “Strength of a Woman” by example.

LaLa

This year, we saw the “Power” Actress slaying events in tow with her bestie Kim Kardashian, and it was great to see LaLa accentuating her coke bottle physique with sheer and lace dresses. She played with bold accessories this year and stilettos happened to be her go-to shoe, as this fashionista served old Hollywood glamour on numerous occasions.

Monica

Monica showed us that she is indeed a fashion girl, who isn’t afraid to take calculated risks to serve some head-turning looks. The R&B singer had many stylish outings in 2023 that included both formal, casual and streetwear, but we really saw her fashionista title shine through with her monochromatic ensembles. Think matching Valentino, Vetements, Versace and Dolce & Gabbana looks that felt cohesive, and forward.

KARRUECHE TRAN

Karrueche Tran has made a name and brand for herself, becoming a highly sought after Actress who uses her Personal Shopper background in the fashion industry to put together some of the most futuristic looks together. She does an exceptional job of wearing clothes that are flattering to her 5’1 frame, and her latest pixie hair cut fits her face perfectly. Whether she’s on a red carpet, or strolling down the streets of Los Angeles, you’ll always catch Karrueche dripped from head to toe.

Looking back on 2023 style/fashion moments revealed that the boys are back. Some might even say, at the forefront of fashion. From A$AP Rocky’s maternity style tour with Rihanna to Damson Idris making us swoon in a sexy silk-on-silk ensemble at the GQ x Tommy Hilfiger party, the men stepped out and served all year long.

However, there can only be one Most Fashionable Man. Without further ado, get into this year’s nominees, and don’t forget to vote for your fav. Good luck!

ASAP Rocky

As usual, A$AP Rocky had a stylish year. He’s long been regarded as a fashion force in hip-hop, and his Rocky reign won’t let up. He started the year with his second maternity fashion tour with his girl Rihanna, and ended it as Puma’s first Creative Director of its F1 division.

Steve Harvey

From Family Feud to flexin’ fashion with his own family, Steve Harvey is back-to-back nominee because he brings the style as often as he brings the jokes.

Dwyane Wade

Dwyane Wade has proven he’s a force in ball and style. His red carpet looks, vacay ensembles and tunnel walk ‘fits always bring the heat.

Offset

Offset is arguably one of current hip-hop’s best dressed men. From his many King of Pop tributes to his collab with Denim Tears, Set has been setting it off stylishly.

Burna Boy

This year the African Giant kicked off his I Told Them tour in style, but also made time to stunt in some heritage looks as a Burberry ambassador.

Usher

It seems Usher couldn’t stay out of social media highlights this year. His Vegas serenades made him a trending topic more than once and a spicy music video didn’t help in some cases, but he skated through it all in expert style.

Fabolous

Nominated for the second year in a row, Fabolous loves a style moment. Whether he’s posing next to outsized buttas or suited to jewel-tone perfection, there’s no denying his fashion sense is F to da AB.

Lewis Hamilton

Nominated last year for his amazing work with Valentino and Fashion Week front row ‘fits, Hamilton shows no signs of slowing his style down on or off the track.

Fat Joe

From showing off his cool collection of kicks, to flexin in the snow in purple fur, Fat Joe loves a good street ‘fit. With every Nike collab and red carpet, Joe pushes his style all the way up.

Damson Idris

Contrary to popular belief, Damson’s infectious style predates his most recent romantic relationship. The Prada prince is often juxtaposing his British tailoring with streetwear.

Jay-Z

Jay may be taking his time with music, but he certainly hasn’t taken a day off from styling and profiling. From supporting his family during the Renaissance tour to his crisp off-day ‘fits, Jay’s commitment to excellent presentation landed him in two Faby categories this year.

Bad Bunny never fails at looking good. His genderless approach to fashion means nothing is off limits for the global reggaeton star.

Fashion design takes a special talent and capability, and we always have our sights on multicultural designers who aren’t afraid to step outside of the box and push the envelope. For this year’s FABY’s, we curated a list of our Top 9 favorite designers who are responsible for the stunning haute couture and Ready-to-Wear garments that we saw models strut down the runway in.

From their vastly different approach, and architectural silhouettes, to their progression of color and interchangeable ensembles, each designer below has stayed true to their vision, showing us that anything you can imagine, you can achieve.

Without further ado, check out the nominees for the FABY’s ‘Designer of the Year’, and be sure to vote for the designer who you think brought the heat and drama on the runway.

FABY’s 2023: Vote for the Designer of the Year

Sergio Hudson

Sergio Hudson is an unstoppable force to be reckoned with in the fashion world, and has dressed celebrities like Beyoncé, Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Tiffany Haddish, and Vice President Kamala Harris. His latest muse Keke Palmer was the talk of 2023, with her glamorous Sergio Hudson gowns that stole the spotlight on multiple occasions.

One thing for sure is that Hudson understands the women’s form, as the Ridgeway, South Carolina native comes from a family of fashionista’s including his mother who was a tailor, and his sister being a runway model.

Fashion has always been in Sergio’s DNA, and after becoming the first contestant to win Bravo TV’s “Style to Rock” in 2013, and earning a $100,000 grand prize, Hudson has been able to capitalize on his brand, and turn it into a household name.

Christian Siriano

Since his Project Runway heydays, Christian Siriano has come quite a long way, dressing The Who’s who of Hollywood, and giving other designers a run for their money. Originally from Annapolis, Maryland, Siriano won the fourth season of the Bravo’s fashion series in 2007, and he would later go on to received many accolades.

Christian Siriano always knew that he would be a big deal in the fashion industry, and after studying in London under Vivenne Westwood and Alexander McQueen, he developed his own collection in 2008 which became a fan favorite amongst celebs like Zendaya, Oprah, Mary J Blige, Lady Gaga and Cardi B.

In 2016, Siriano won “Designer of the Year” at the AAFA American Image Awards and in 2018, Siriano was included in Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People of 2018. His influence extends across the globe, and if anyone knows how to manipulate tulle, and offer sharp tailoring with impeccable draping, it’s definitely Christian Siriano.

LaQuan Smith

If anyone’s bring sexy back to the runway, it’s without a doubt LaQuan Smith who has become every “Hot Girl’s” favorite designer. When it comes to black designers who are paving the way with innovation and selected techniques, Queens native LaQuan Smith EATS every time leaving absolutely no crumbs.

From celebs like Bey, Kelly Rowland, and Lori Harvey to Taraji P Henson and the whole Kardashian clan, one thing is for certain, Smith is not new to this, but true to this fashion game. He has been a member of the CFDA since 2021, and in 2022 he was nominated for the CFDA Fashion Awards “Designer of the Year.” Although he didn’t win, his brand gained more exposure, becoming an even more highly sought-after brand.

His fashion roots come from his Grandmother who installed a love fo fashion and design in LaQuan early on. Staying true to his New York upbringing, all his designs are domestically manufactured in Long Island City, New York. We’re always looking forward to seeing Smith’s phenomenal craftsmanship characterized with striking cutouts, and the perfect glitz & glam.

Olivier Rousteing of Balmain

French Fashion designer Olivier Rousteing is truly one of a kind, and since taking the Creative Director position of Balmain in 2011, he has created a lot of buzz with his fresh and modern approach. Born to a Somali mother, and Ethiopian father, Rousteing was adopted at the age of 1 and would later discover his full African heritage.

If anyone has brought Balmain the attention that it deserves, It’s Olivier who has incorporated the finer aspects of French Couture into the brand’s line. They say that the devil is in the details and every time we see Kim Kardashian, Beyonce or Nicki Minaj in a Balmain piece, we can see the special illustrated touches that makes each garment a stand-out sensation.

Kwame Adusei

With West African roots that go as far back to his motherland, Ghana, Kwame Adusei is a revolutionary force in the fashion industry, who is forging the future with his electrifying designs. After moving to Los Angeles from Africa to pursue design on a larger skill, Adusei quickly gained popularity among the masses, and created his phenomenal collection in 2021.

Prior to creating the Kwame Adusei label, Adusei actually had a line entitled “Charlotte Prive” in Ghana where he created both Ready-to-Wear and custom pieces for his clientele. Although he now has a new name for his latest collection, the quality of his fantastical creations remains the same, with hints of provocative elegance and edge that always gives main character energy.

Some of our favorite celebrities like Chloe Bailey, Lori Harvey, Kylie Jenner, and Beyonce have incorporated Kwame Adusei pieces into their wardrobe and now that he has opened his very own store in Beverly Hills where A-list celebs can shop until they drop.

Harbison

Designer Charles Harbison relaunched his eponymous fashion label that originally debuted in 2013 after taking a break from the fashion industry in 2016 to refocus and regroup. Last year he released his resort 2023 collection that was inspired by American painter and sculptor Ellsworth Kelly and consisted of bold colors and eye-popping prints with sizes ranging for 0-22.

What sets Harbison apart from other designers is his sustainability approach which includes making clothes from vintage textiles, organic cotton and eco friendly fabrics. The North Carolina native, who now resides in Los Angeles, allows his creativity to shine through each of his designs which often feel futuristic and ahead of our time. When it comes to evening wear, the Architect turned Designer does an exceptional job at incorporating ruching and draping in the most flattering ways, and his color-blocking ensembles always reigns supreme.

Hanifa

With a slogan, “For Women Without Limits,” Hanifa is a global luxury brand that was founded by Anifa Mvuemba, when she was in her twenties. The self made fashion designer who taught herself how to sew, has a brand that’s on everybody’s wishlist including Megan Thee Stallion, Cardi B and Beyonce. Originally from Kenya, Mvuemba moved to the US at age 4 with her parents, and discovered her love of fashion from her mother who had an affinity for clothes and fine jewelry.

In 2021, Mvuemba debuted her first runway show in Washington DC which received positive feedback, and she spoke with Glamour Magazine about how she’s okay with taking her time and doing her own fashion show rather than being apart of a collective like Fashion Week.

We have to admit that Anifa Mvuemba is the blueprint, and a reminder that if you want to make a name for yourself, you can do so by working relentlessly and blazing your own trail. We applaud her for her skillful designs, forward thinking and tenacity.

Bishme Cromartie

This year we had our eyes glued to Bravo TV’s Project Runway All-Stars series which included some of the most brightest designers to be on Project Runway over the years. However, Baltimore designer Bishme Cromartie stole the spotlight on numerous occasions with his beautifully crafted and over-the-top designs that earned him the title as the winner of the hit fashion series.

Despite losing his oldest sister to cancer right before the show began, Cromartie gathered his strength and put his all into each of his designs in honor of his late sister. As someone who has been designing since the age 8, Bishme has developed modern techniques to ensure that his garments are thought-provoking and aesthetically pleasing. Each of his designs ooze prestige and confidence, and celebs like Michelle Williams, Coco Jones and Chloe Bailey have shown us the Bishme designs are elevated, distinct, and perhaps boundary breaking.

Gaurav Gupta

If anyone had quite a successful design career, it’s certainly Gaurav Gupta who has been shutting down red carpets and the internet with his progressive and avant-garde ensembles. From Cardi B who stunned in a sizzling haute cobalt blue Gaurav Gupta gown at this year’s Grammy’s, to Beyoncé who captivated her fans on stage in multiple Gaurav Gupta custom pieces, the Indian designer has proven time and again of how brilliant he is when it comes to fashion design.

Gupta studied at the National Institute of Fashion Technology Delhi where he earned his bachelor’s degree, and founded his couture house back in 2004. He has become will known for his sculptural silhouettes and intricate embellishments which has become his signature.

In addition to custom couture pieces, Gupta also specializes in menswear and bridal wear, making him a triple threat. From the moment, he kicked off 2023 with his first Paris couture show to now, Gupta has shown us this year that he’s untouchable with his unprecedented designs.

But what drove the popularity of gold grillz? In this blog post we’ll examine its rise and why this trend remains relevant today.

Origins

Gold jewelry, especially the type seen on Kendal Jenner and Black partygoers in pre-gentrified Brooklyn, has seen its time in pop culture. But embellishing one’s teeth with golden inlays or full-on grills has a long and rich history–it isn’t exclusive to rappers!

People have been altering their teeth with gold for millennia – this practice, commonly referred to as “gold work,” was common practice across many parts of the globe.

West Indian immigrants first settled in New York City during the 1970s, bringing with them golden tooth caps known as “gold fronts.” By the early 1980s, street vendors like Eddie Plein and Johnny Dang began adapting dental crowns for multiple teeth at once to form what we now refer to as gold grills or sets of gold teeth – becoming popular among rappers who wore them as an expression of street cred and hood pride.

Symbolism

Gold teeth (commonly referred to as grillz) have long been seen as a symbol of wealth and status. People have used precious metal to replace worn out or damaged teeth with the precious metal, with Caribbean immigrants opting for this approach over more conventional dental procedures.

Over time, gold teeth have seen their popularity fluctuate. Now more than ever before, they serve more as fashion statements and can often be found adorning rappers, celebrities, and influencers’ mouths.

Gold teeth may seem like an easy fashion trend to embrace, but their significance goes deeper. Wearing gold teeth serves as an incredible statement about rebellion against social inequality; reminding both themselves and those around them that their success came through hard work in spite of economic hardship – an invaluable reminder in an age marked by mass inequality and division.

Hip-Hop Culture

Hip hop emerged at society’s peripheries and its artists pushed the limits of artistic expression to their fullest. Graffiti writing became one of these frontiers; using blank walls and subway tunnels as canvases to bring them alive with life in terms of complexity, color and texture.

MCs (or emcees), also known as master storytellers (storytellers), weave complex tales in rhythm and rhyme that translate seamlessly to literary forms such as poetry, short stories, novels, scripts or even comic book-style graphic novels. Many of their works depict urban reality while offering social commentary.

Gold teeth have long been part of Black creativity, signalling its unbridled expression whether in words or visual art. Wearing one signifies one is hip and stands out from the crowd; gold grins speak the language of wealth which has caught on among fashion industry insiders.

Conclusions

Gold teeth (or grillz) have become a fashion trend in some cultures. Rappers and celebrities often sport these flashy adornments as a symbol of wealth; however, they may also serve as an expressive statement. Unfortunately, getting gold dental grillz can be risky and costly; instead it might be better to visit a dentist to get porcelain restorations instead.

The Renaissance World Tour was a spectacle of music and fashion. The best part was seeing Princess B(lue Ivy) light up the stage in style alongside her mother. Although theres a number of looks to love from the tour, this red on red Telfar moment was the moment.

Cardi B in Guarav Gupta (Grammys)

It’s always exciting to see Cardi B on the red carpet. This year, she began with a bang in an extravagant hood and gorgeous jewel tone.

Megan Thee Stallion in Custom Bach Mai (Vanity Fair Oscars Afterparty)

Her first red carpet following the State vs Tory Lanez case, and Megan was guilty of serving. The H-Town hottie rocked big hair for her big moment which perfectly accented her standout custom gown outfitted with a peek-a-boo neckline and gorgeous black fabric.

30,000 ruby red Swarovski crystals later and we had Doja’s Inferno. One of the most talked about looks from Paris Couture Week, Doja Cat, in team with stylist Brett Nelson, brought the most eye-catching look to the front row.

Chloë Bailey in DiPetsa (GQ Man of the Year awards)

For the GQ’s Man of the Year Awards, Chloë Bailey showed what that body do in a second skin-like liquid gown. DiPetsa is known for the wet look and Chloë kept that etho in mind when she accessorized with clear bauble bracelets and earrings.

It’s hard to pick just one maternity look as our all-time Rihanna fav, but if we had to, her Academy Awards Alaïa is a top contender. A growing baby bump didn’t stop the legendary bad gal from rocking leather, sheer, stilettos, or midriff during her nine months of baking, but this edgy yet elegant look is not only a noteworthy RiRi look but one of the best maternity looks we’ve seen from anyone this year.

Her first major appearance post the birth of baby Leodis, Keke brought 70s-style glam to the Met steps. Her body-hugging corset gown was a show on its own, but with a dramatic pale blue shawl –complete with a train, of course– and teased tresses, Keke was the epitome of vintage American glamor.

Halle Bailey in Valdrin Sahiti (Little Mermaid World Premiere)

When Halle pulled up the Little Mermaid premiere in a reflective blue Valdrin Sahiti gown, we desperately wanted to be apart of her world. Statement dresses such as this don’t need much styling, so she kept her auburn dreadlocks behind her shoulders and opted for gorgeous crystal earrings and metallic blue on the eyes.

After the 95th Academy Awards, Tems went viral for her cloud-like ensemble. Her dress might have been a distraction, but when the doll looks this good, why would you want to look anywhere else?

And just like that, we have arrived fashionably on time for our annual FABYS awards. This year’s categories much like the previous years still stand and we want to hear from you: who made the cut?

The parents have paved the way for our young fashion mavens passing the torch to their offspring on their own runways of style. This category is for Fashion Bomb Kid of the Year and the nominees are cute! At the same time, there can only be one, What say you?

North West

Much like her parents, North has commanded the spotlight of the media with her personal style. This year our rising fashionista was an i-D cover girl, rocking knee length braids letting it be known that she is her own style inspiration. She continued to show that style through her multiple looks for Halloween this year. Taking on the roles of Princess Tiana, Dionne from Clueless, and Galleria (played by Raven Simone) from the Cheetah Girls.

We are not completely surprised but thrilled to see her continue to understand the assignment with style and grace.

Not only is North taking after her mother as a style icon , she is also taking style cues from her father, Kanye West, as a mini fashion consultant giving style advice to her mother as seen on a few episodes on Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

Summer Miami

Happy to say we have yet another first timer on our hands for the 2023 FABY’s roster. She is a beauty girl and takes after her mama Yung Miami, posing in fine designer duds. From her beaded braids to her fun make up tutorials, Summer depicts she loves living in a Barbie world. This year she shut the gram down with her Barbie themed 4th birthday photoshoot: Think pink, Chanel , and a whole lot of glam. We’re looking forward to see Summer Miami continue to evolve and shine.

Combs Twins

Double trouble , the Combs Twins are back with us for our annual FABY’s awards and they keep getting better and better. Starting out on TikTok nailing every routine in style, the twins have been able to slay the stage as back up dancers and even grace the cover of Galore mag. The sisters are reveling in their growth and pushing forward to following in the footsteps of their late mother Kim Porter as models. We are sure that this is just the beginning for the pair.

Blue Ivy

Next up , we have our beloved Blue Ivy. Believe it or not this is Blue Ivy’s first ever nomination for the FABY’s awards and it was well deserved considering the amazing year she’s had.

Blue Ivy took to the stage of every major city around the world, with her mother Beyonce, for the Renaissance World Tour.

She wore custom pieces from designers such as Telfar, Brandon Blackwood, Ivy Park x Adidas collab , and Louis Vuitton by Pharrell to name a few.

She already has a fandom base , the “Ivy League” and a trending dance challenge that all the girlies , some adults too teehee, are going alien superstar crazy for. Cute!

Junie Shumpert

Third, we are no stranger to, we have had our eyes on her since birth and she has made it to our roster before. We’re bringing her back again , Junie Shumpert. Junie has been showing up and showing out just like her mother , fashion icon, Teyana Taylor.

Junie embraces the “cool kid from the block vibe mirroring her mother. Her latest debut was her appearance at her mother’s Air Jordan 1 ‘s collab , “Gym Red” campaign, and she shined next to her family for Skims.

She also stopped the show at the “Give Her Flowhers” ceremony rocking a full Rick Owens look. She carries the torch of being a Rose from Harlem. The future is certainly bright for our swaggy princess.

Kulture Kiari

Following one New York native is another New York native , Kulture Kiari , Cardi B’s princess.

This year she has shown up as such , from the little mermaid premiere starring Halle Bailey to her Princess Peach themed 5th birthday party , where she stunned the room in her Christian Dior ball gown!

But don’t get it twisted when she’s not dressing up like the princess she is, she opts to stunt like her daddy wearing Denim Tear sets.

True Legend

Another first comer to the FABY’s roster is new born True Legend , son to Da Brat and Jesseca Harris- Dupart , one would say was born fly. Straight out the womb into the world True Legend has been taking high fashion naps in onesies by Balmain, Polo Ralph Lauren , and Fendi to name a few. Talk about coming in hot, imagine what he’ll be dripping in by the time he can walk. Baby steps lead to giant leaps , so we are looking forward to seeing more of our young fashionisto True Legend in the future.

Kashton Prophet

Another young fashionisto, who is also a first timer for our annual FABY’s roster is Kashton Prophet , son of KashDoll. Kashton is no stranger to designer. Running around and dancing with his mommy, daddy, and other stars such as Quavo and Lil Uzi, Kashton is sure to do it in style wearing hot pieces from Burberry , Versace , and Fendi to name a few. He is also pulling off iced out cuban link chains and designer glasses. Another young stellar that will be leading a bomb path.

Zaya Wade

Lastly, Zaya Wade, a newcomer to our FABY’s roster who continues on with an undefeated chic streak.

Zaya is commanding fashion houses and pages, posing for brand campaigns such as MiuMiu , Tiffany and Co. , and Puma. Zaya started her own path and continues to walk it , unstoppable and insanely stylish.

In addition to his modeling career, Alton Mason has been recognized for his talents as a dancer, and actually studied dance and theatre at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in Los Angeles.
