Young Hollywood has been out in droves lately. From the People’s Choice Awards to the Women’s March held last Saturday, some of our favorite starlets have been showing up and out, and the year has just started. So this week’s beauty crush shouldn’t come as a surprise to you. Star of ABC’s award winning primetime comedy, Black-ish, and red carpet fave, Yara Shahidi is well on her way to having quite the year, and looks stunning all the while.
Gorgeous skin like Yara’s is the perfect base for makeup artists to explore different looks. Yara tends to lean more toward earthy tones, subtle bronzes, and soft pinks on her lips and full cheeks to compliment her complexion.
But she loves to bring drama to her eyes every now and then with deep reds.
As for her hair, these days, she sticks with rocking her natural curls. Though she straightens it from time to time…
…Yara definitely becomes more creative with braids and top knots.
When she’s not busy blazing the red carpet, thanks to stylist Ade Samuel, or paying homage to legendary goddess of blues and soul, Sadé…
…Yara is all for the advancement and education of black youth, the empowerment of black people and women’s right, as her passion for the two resonates during her speeches. She even participated in this year’s Women’s March with Black-ish co-star and TV mom, Tracee Ellis Ross!
Beyond her obvious beauty, Yara is a wise talent, a rarity, and a young woman of action, not only words. She embodies so much grace for a young woman and is fast becoming one of the more powerful voices of this generation. So today, we celebrate her as this week’s beauty crush!
Ali Larter took to the Resident Evil: The Final Chapter Los Angeles Premiere in the same Christian Siriano Spring 2017 Bell Sleeve Crop Top Janelle Monae originally wore earlier this month:
Ali copied the runway look verbatim, while Janelle paired the piece with Tome Spring 2017 black and white striped trousers.
Statement-making earrings, a matching high-waist, lace-inset skirt, black and white printed pumps, and a bag in the timeless combo accented the top on the catwalk.
Elizabeth Olsen took to the Wind River Premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in the same Dries Van Noten Long Orange and Lilac Lotus Blossom Print Satin Robe Dress that Tia Mowry-Hardrict and Rihanna have already sported in the past:
Elizabeth uplifted her casual ensemble with the statement-making robe, while Tia accented the ankle-grazing piece with Zara denim, Stuart Weitzman pumps, a DIY velvet choker, and Noe Garments bodysuit. Rih chose $1,190 Tom Ford Silver Metallic Ankle Lock Sandals.
The lotus print long robe dress boasts a shawl collar, oversized flap pockets, and a D-ring self-belt.
The Paris Haute Couture Collections are underway! And those serious about style (and spending) are in attendance. David Nyanzi is on the ground to capture the fun.
Take a look at who he photographed:
This show goer did not come to play! White thigh high boots and a belted blazer served as her look for the day. Hot! or Hmm…?
Layered pearl necklaces, striped pants, and mirrored shades created a chic ensemble.
Soft blue and blush pink were enlivened by metallic boots. This outfit looks dreamy–and comfortable.
You can’t go wrong with monochrome! This gentleman opted for olive green.
We’re not wearing coats on our shoulders anymore, ladies! Lane Crawford buyer Tiffany Hsu showed us how it’s done in an oversized Vetements bomber jacket.
Lastly, this fashionista stopped traffic in black lace and green pumps.Tres chic!

Lord knows I have a weakness for a pair of slick shades! On any a day, you’ll find me rocking sunglasses and lipstick. They take any look to another level! Thus, I was excited to discover Eyechic Philly:
Activist and Grey’s Anatomy star is candy for our eyes, souls, and spirits! Though he can look good in virtually anything, the actor demonstrated his style prowess of late—taking to a slew of Men’s Fashion Week shows in Paris:
All-black was on his fashion agenda at Kenzo. The color palette kept this look grounded, but the play on volume took it up a notch!
Jesse uplifted another all-black getup with a burgundy coat and creeper-inspired shoes at Lanvin.
Riccardo Tisci loves a diverse front row, thus we loved the addition of Jesse into the stylish mix of attendees. He actually attended the iconic French fashion house’s Spring 2013 show, so it was nice to see him back at it! Seems like he’d be a good fit for the brand’s next ad campaign, no?
Today’s Fashion Bombshell is Sahanie from Nigeria:
She writes, “I would describe my style as simple yet chic.”
“When it comes to fashion, it is great to take risks and wear your clothing with confidence.”
“I am inspired by my Nigerian culture and I love the ability to create with Ankara print.”

Sahanie, I love your fun and classy style! I need that “Youth Tribe” shirt, girl!
