Who Wore it Better? Kim Kardashian vs Rihanna in Vetements x Manolo Blahnik Spring 2017 Full-Length Boots

Kim Kardashian headed to dinner in NYC clad in Vetements x Manolo Blahnik Spring 2017 Full-Length Boots.  Rihanna was spied in the orange pair last year during her guest appearance at OVO Fest:

Kim wore a sheer blouse and mid-length jacket with her waist-high, stiletto heel boots.

Rihanna wore a Fengchen Wang Spring 17 men’s wear jacket, denim shorts and the orange version of the Vetements full-length boots.

Both looks are Hot!  I’m diggin’ the street style element that each bombshell offers.

I say they both rocked it!

What do you think?  Did Kim style her Vetements x Manolo boots better?  Or did Rihanna?

Beauty Bomb: Chrissy Teigen’s 59th GRAMMY Awards Sexy Wet Waves, Styled by Jen Atkin

Chrissy Teigen was easily one of the best dressed at last night’s 59th GRAMMY Awards: her sheer black Roberto Cavalli gown with strappy detailing and cutout accents made quite the statement! But a dress is only one part of a look and sexy wet waves provided the perfect complements for her ensemble, styled by guru Jen Atkin. Here’s how to get her hair for the night.

1. Prep your damp hair using a Wave Spray like this one by OUAI from roots to ends.

2. Create a deep side part, then blow dry your hair using a Hair Dryer like Dyson’s with the diffuser attached in order to achieve the effortless waves.

3. Use a flat iron to straighten the ends of your hair. The Kardashians actually have a pretty good version!

4. To keep the wet look, take one-inch sections of your hair starting at the nape. Add a light mask from the mid-shafts to your ends. Yes, this sounds crazy as masques are typically are put in and washed out, but that’s one of the major keys to the wet look!

5. Use a hold hairspray from your roots to your ends for a lasting hold, from the event to the after party. TRESemmé makes a great version.

6. Finish your look with root concealer at your hairline if needed.

Black History Month Future Legends: Stylist Bryon Javar

As we continue our Black History Month series highlighting the future icons of our generation, we take a look behind the scenes of a celebrity’s best kept secret; their stylist. Bryon Javar, stylist behind some of our favorite red carpet looks, sits down with Fashion Bomb Daily to talk fashion and making a mark in the industry.

Most people learned of Bryon Javar the moment he styled Karrueche Tran for the 2015 BET Awards in a black and white Stello suit and a La Perla bra.  That specific fashion moment birthed Karrueche’s reputation as a person to watch for on the red carpet.  The Compton-born stylist began his infatuation with fashion long before that moment.  From interning with Laurie Phillips at 19 years old to assisting Rebecca Gross, Lance Gross’s wife, Bryon took time to learn the ropes before he displayed his talents on today’s top celebrities.

Since 2015, we’ve had a chance to fawn over a number of Bryon’s red carpet looks, street style fashion and magazine shoots.  Beyond providing a wardrobe for his clients, he fully recognizes the importance of pulling together a complete look that includes hair and makeup.  To present a near-perfect finished product, Bryon often collaborates with the best hairstylists and makeup artists so that his vision is perfectly executed.

With trends constantly changing, Bryon holds street style fashion near and dear to his heart. “My favorite thing right now is how big STREET style is playing a part of high fashion. On the runways to the actual streets. That whole 90’s effortless look is beyond my fave. Gowns with bomber jackets adding the old distressed denim jacket to a look to give it a little edge. No matter if it’s a slip dress or on top of a mans suit,” he tells us.

There’s no doubt that Bryon caters to women of all shapes and sizes.  “When styling I like a challenge, whether it’s me styling a size 16 or a size 2. I think it’s important to make the client feel that just as much is available for them as it is for a runway model. I like to turn a challenge into a highlighted moment.”

We are currently in a time where stylists are a dime a dozen but a good stylist can take a celebrity’s career to another level.  Bryon drops some gems on how to be the best.  “My advice to aspiring stylists is to Intern/assist! It’s A MUST, it’s not just about putting a look together for a carpet or having racks of looks for a video shoot, BUT learning how to get those things. Learning how showrooms work, learning how to manage budgets. How you should set up a fitting the correct way, what needs to be in your KIT, etc.  So many want to jump in this game instead of doing the work first and paying their dues,” he said.

Bryon’s clientele includes, Angela Simmons, Karrueche Tran, Christina Milian, Olivia Culpo, Jazmine Sullivan, Letoya Luckett, Garcelle Beauvais and Melanie Brown.  With his impressive resume, the stylist adds designing to his repertoire.  “I’m currently working on my men’s summer collection about to drop this spring, and I’m about to start filming the new season of America’s Got Talent with Mel B, I’m pretty excited about that.

It’s a safe assumption that Bryon Javar is here to stay and he will continue to make waves in the fashion industry.  His ability to capture the personalities of each client and reflect it in their wardrobe is a talent that few have mastered.  What do you think?

XOXO- Marsha B.
