Fashion Bombshell of the Day: Shara from the UK

Happy Friday Eve!

Today’s Bombshell is Shara from the UK, who’s currently based in London.

She writes, “I’m a believer in the words of designer Ozwald Boateng who said ‘Everyone can wear colour, the question is about finding the right shade, there is a momentary trend to dark colours because when the financials are not that great people go for black navy and grey’.”

“Living in London where the weather can be unpredictable and grey, I’ll be the girl who wears a canary yellow coat when it’s pouring rain. I love bright colours so a pop of it is always injected into my style somewhere, and my outfit is determined by however I’m feeling that day.”

“I completely adore the style of Solange Knowles and Janelle Monae, while also drawing inspiration from my Jamaican heritage for colour palettes.”

“Being a designer myself I like to mix some of my own pieces with items I already have in my wardrobe (e.g Blue Printed Co ord, & pink jacket) which makes getting dressed even more exciting. If you would like to follow me on my socials please see my handles below, J.”

Amaze! Your style is fun, colorful, yet classy!

Beauty News: Mac Announces New Aaliyah Inspired Collection

Anyone who grew up in the 90’s and the ’00’s were undoubtedly fans of R&B singer Aaliyah, and impacted by her untimely death. The Bombshell was a trendsetter and a true beauty, noted for her simple yet stunning makeup looks and swooped bang hairstyle.

MAC has answered the call of countless Aaliyah fans, announcing today that they will be producing a collection inspired by the sweet songstress, gone too soon. In an Instagram post, they wrote, “Aaliyah is truly one in a million — an unstoppable icon whose groundbreaking work in R&B music and film inspires us all. Today we join her countless fans in celebrating her with the announcement of the M·A·C Aaliyah collection. You made it happen! Stay tuned in 2018.”

Though we don’t know what will be in this collection, we can predict large, wispy lashes and 90’s favorites including brown lip pencils, lip glass, and perhaps some bright shadows and berry lipsticks for added umph.

I’m really excited for this collection!

Beauty Crush Wednesday: Kristen Noel Crawley

If you’re as addicted as I am to Instagram, then IG story stalking may be a part of your morning rituals. But before you reach for your makeup brush, you may want to add this week’s beauty crush to your list of favorite Instagram beauty bosses. Enter Kristen Noel Crawley @KristenNoelCrawley. She’s become somewhat of an authority in the world of beauty -being an ELLE.com beauty contributor – sharing her beauty regimen from cleansing to contouring.
If you’ve been following her, you’re hip to all the cleansers, sheet masks, serums, and La Mer moisturizers she uses. They seem to work wonders as her skin is practically flawless. It’s really the perfect canvas for a good beat.
During summers, especially for daytime, a palette of nudes and light pinks works best.  For coverage, she swears by Chantecaille’s Future Skin Foundation. It’s light and after application, provides overall smoothness and conceals minor imperfections without appearing too caked on.
She loves playing up the shape of her almond eyes with a good winged eyeliner or a pop of bold color on her lids. How cool is this lilac shade?
When it comes to her lips, she doesn’t mind sporting some color. Whether an orange shade for outfits with splashes of color or a classic hue like Dior’s Rouge Lipstick in 999, Crawley’s look is always subtle, yet incredibly striking.
Known for her bob with accompanying center part…
…she can switch it up on you, giving you braids and cornrows while vacationing in Bora Bora.  Slay!
The beauty is more than just a pretty face, however. Her enthusiasm for all things beauty and makeup was probably the catalyst for her most recent venture, KNC Beauty Lip Masks. Tested and proven on A-listers like Emma Stone and KKW, the collagen infused lip masks fight dry lips in balmy weather.
Not only that, she heads her own jewelry line: KDIA. Worn by the likes of Rihanna, her line features tons of cool trinkets, like bejeweled candy colored necklaces and emoji pendants, all dipped in gold and luxurious gems, no less.
She’s also punctuated her résumé by being a beauty ambassador for luxury brand, Dior. *sigh* The stuff dreams are made of, right?
All-in-all, Kristen Noel Crawley encompasses what it means to be a girl boss. Beauty contributor, style crusader (she’s impeccably dressed, like always), running two businesses, and a mom of two.  How she finds the time to do it all, we’ll never know.
One thing that won’t remain a mystery, though, is how gorgeous she is while getting it all done.

Fashion Bomb TV Tuesday: Designer Sergio Hudson on Kendall Jenner’s Jumpsuit, Advice To Young Designers, and What He Wants the World to Know

Sergio Hudson is a designer you should know. Born in Ridgeway, South Carolina, the talented creator has dressed all of your favorites, including J.Lo, Janelle Monae, Kendall Jenner, Khloe Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, Serena Williams, and many more.

Inspired by Gianni Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, and Oscar de la Renta, Hudson’s designs are chic, sophisticated, and bold. We chat a bit about his journey below:

A few bits that got left on the cutting room floor:
His advice to young designers:
You have to get good representation. You can have the best clothes in the world, but if the right people aren’t representing you, no-one will ever see them.” He adds, “Know your craft. Know your fashion history. Don’t just know what’s popular now and don’t just follow what’s popular now. You have to create your own lane. If you don’t have an aesthetic, you’re just making clothes. There’s nothing new under the sun. You can put a seam on the back of a blazer…Jean Paul Gaultier did that in the 80’s. There’s nothing that’s new, but what can you bring? You have to figure that out first. And after you do that, you have to work on your craftsmanship. I know so many young designers who don’t even know how to sew a seam. My first 4 collections, I sewed them all myself. You have to know your craft. And once you know your craft, and have an aesthetic, then you have to have good representation. Invest in yourself.

What He Wants People to Know About Him:
“I want people to know that I’m here. I’m creating beautiful pieces. I actually moved into the workroom with my manufacturer so I can oversee my own productions. These garments are not cheap to make. My jacket can hang right next to a Gucci jacket. The only difference is that my label says Sergio Hudson and their label says Gucci. Quality doesn’t always mean a name. Explore other types of brands, explore other people that don’t just have a name. When a woman walks into a room with a Sergio Hudson piece, I want them to shut it down. I want everyone else to bow down.”
I hope you enjoy!
