It’s highly common these days for luxury designers to pair up with fast-fashion brands, which is why Karl Lagerfeld takes Vans on a different angle of streetwear chic with new clothing and footwear capsule collection on the way!
Indeed the collection has Lagerfeld’s full spin of Chanel aesthetics written all over it. The 12-piece capsule includes hoodies, bomber jackets, graphic tees, and backpacks to name a few. Also, six notable style change-ups are seen on the popular Sk8 Hi and Old Skool Vans with Lagerfeld’s silhouette, laceless sneakers, signature quilted leather padding, and more.
Over the weekend the collection was unveiled at the Bread & Butter tradeshow in Berlin.
The full launch and release will be on September 7th on Vans.com, as well as in both Karl Lagerfeld and Vans stores. The price will range from $40-$300.

Insecure is one of the hottest television shows out right now! Almost every millennial can relate to the comical characters and their ever-changing lives. The relationship suspicion between Issa and Lawrence continues to build, causing us to tune in like clock work to see how it unfolds. But while we ride the emotional roller-coaster of their complicated breakup, we can’t help but notice the absolutely FLY shirts Issa’s character sports on the show! We know we aren’t the only ones lusting over her cultural, thought-provoking gear. So we decided to put together a list of shirts you need in order to get your Issa Rae style popping. Get into them below!
Remember the night Issa got dressed up to go on her “promiscuous” tour? Although we weren’t cheering for the tour, we were definitely cheering for this shirt she wore while on tour.
Issa’s comedic antics have us gripping our sides from laughter, and this particular tee she wore right after one of her “escapades” added to the scene perfectly.
This sweater was one of my favorite that Issa wore on a night out with her friends. It’s simple yet impactful.
See more of Issa’s statement-making tees below. And don’t forget to tune in this Sunday for the season finale and possibly a peek at more intriguing tees!
Today’s Bombshell is pulling through with plenty of edgy and chic vibes. Behold Jenn from Brooklyn, NY.
She writes, “I would describe my style as tailored. No matter what my aesthetic is for the day; tomboy, girly, or glam, my clothes have to fit my curves, mood, and agenda!”
“My style is inspired by everyday fashion. I love walking down the street and thinking of ways to remix other people’s look and make it personal for me.”
“I don’t have a main store. I love to thrift. Zara is my guilty pleasure and club Monaco always helps to add a classic and clean finish to my outfits.”

Have you gathered up your $3K for Vogue’s Forces of Fashion Conference next month? Well, the iconic publication has given us another reason to make the major splurge, as Rihanna has been announced as a speaker at the momentous event:
The reasons for this move are plentiful. Rihanna has been a Vogue cover girl multiple times over; her FENTY x PUMA has been wildly successful and shows this Sunday, September 10th; her FENTY Beauty line is debuting in just a few days; she’s a force to be reckoned with in global fashion.
We’re giddy with excitement when we think about all the things Rihanna could wear, what hairstyle she’ll choose, and what nuggets of wisdom are sure to come from her very candid discussion.
Are you excited to get Rihanna’s thoughts on fashion?
She writes, “I would describe my style as both elegant and edgy. I like to make a statement by letting my outfits tell a story.”
“I am inspired heavily by different cultures whether it’s kimonos, capes, turbans or just colours. The originality of traditional looks gives me the ability to create a unique outfit with this in mind.”
“I usually shop at high street stores such as Zara, H&M and Topshop looking for hidden gems. I also shop online at ASOS and Lavish Alice (one of my favorite brands). However, I acquire many of my original pieces from vintage shops or small boutiques.”

Sophia Webster is taking a cue from Rihanna’s playbook—collaborating with athletic wear juggernaut PUMA on a collection of shoes and womenswear pieces. Globally-renowned for her whimsical and eccentric spins on footwear classics, Webster’s collaboration is brimming with her in-your-face, fun-loving designs. With a sporty slant of course.
Webster’s trademark butterfly wing motif is strewn against everything from high-top kicks to mesh leotards, while that athleisure flair really shines through on sport bras, barely-there track shorts, print-inset leggings, and more.
There is even Webster’s own spin on the brand’s popular creeper—in suede with transparent, glitter-flecked soles.
“Partnering with Puma has been fantastic as they allowed me full creative control of all the entire collection of footwear and apparel,” Webster told British Vogue in a recent interview. “So, for me it was my first opportunity to design ready-to-wear and think of how my aesthetic would translate into womenswear. I have loved the challenge.”
The first drop of the collaboration will be up for grabs on September 5th.
Will you be picking anything up from Sophia Webster x PUMA?

YSL’s Runway glitter boots are the stuff dreams are made of. The minute they pounded down the runway, the fashion world knew they were the special IT item of the season. When they finally hit stores, we found out just how special they were! They come with a $10,000 price tag.
Preposterous! Some might say. Ridiculous, others might echo. But fashionistas near and wide have been shelling out a full 10 Gs for the glittering beauts.
Rihanna was one of the first to wear them, keeping her look simple with ripped jeans, a white tee, and a leather jacket.
Celine Dion also embraced the boots for a sweet street style moment, downplaying the shine of the boots with an all black look and a jacket with a subtle crystal collar detail.
Cardi B slipped on the sizzling footwear with a custom Angel Brinks ensemble for a performance at the MTV VMAs.
Blac Chyna was the latest to wear the boots with a custom look by Dare to be Vintage.
All the women are iconic in their own ways in the fashion and/or entertainment industries. And all those women either have enough influence or enough coins to don this modern day Glass Slipper.
The crazy thing is that fashion lovers will try to justify the price. $10,000 could be a down payment on a house or car, feed the homeless, or sit flourishing in a savings account. But fashion might just push you to splurge for that must have item…that might look dated next season.
What do you think? If you could, would you splurge?
Gucci is lapping up all this popularity, seeing a record 50% increase in profits in the past year. While I’m sure they gift Beyonce and Jay Z with exclusive pieces, I’d predict most of the celebs above went to the store and shelled out thousands for the fine frocks.
Gucci has subtly acknowledged the urban community’s embrace, reportedly partnering with Dapper Dan after they were accused of copying his designs, and hiring an all black cast for their Pre-Fall 2017 campaign.
But I think the consumer should take a bit of power in their hands. Take ownership. And make some dividends from this serious Gucci resurgence. Start saving money where you can through side-hustles, using a FragranceX coupon on your next bottle of perfume and eating out less.
Buy a bag, yes, or even an overpriced logo sweatshirt. But own a part of the brand as well.
I remember talking to my father once about my shopping habits. He told me that most companies you love have the option to buy stock. Yes, you can buy a small part of the brand’s you frequent the most.
Looking at how absolutely everyone can’t get enough of Gucci, I’d say buying stock would be some sound financial advice. Get in before the Gucci fever is gone.

*This is purely an opinion piece. I do not profess to be a financial expert in any way.
**Contact a licensed financial advisor and ask them about buying some Gucci stock!
**A Financial Planner @JoselineHernandez360 wrote in on IG, “As you have noted, Gucci is part of the Kering Group. Therefore, you cannot purchase it solo dolo. Because it is a European company, you can purchase the ADR (American Depositary Receipt) OTC (Over the Counter) under the ticker PPRUY. It’s a decent company. Slow and steady. Expect 5 to 6 percent growth over the next two to five years. Not fantastic, but a much better investment than the Gucci handbag.”
