Beauty Crush Wednesday #BCW: Ella Eyre

Hailing all the way from The UK, this week’s beauty crush is one of England’s latest pop sensations. Working with Wiz Khalifa and most recently, Ty Dolla $ign on her new single “Ego”, Ella Eyre is on it. Aside from touring all over Europe, the singer finds the time for glam, and always hits the mark.
Ella loves to make her eyes pop, but not with eyeshadow. Colored, winged eyeliner is her go-to for kicking up her look a notch. She even amps things up by incorporating cute designs.
As for lips, when she’s not working a nude…
…she exudes a certain timelessness with a matte crimson shade.
But Ella loves a deep plum on occasion to vamp it up a little.
With a voice as big as Ella’s, she has the hair to match. No question. Her signature voluminous ombré curls, when untamed and free, seem to defy gravity. Light and full of bounce. But just like any girl, she loves a good ponytail…or two.
With a host of infectious songs and music videos to match, there’s no need to wonder why she’s on the radar.  Ella Eyre is the girl next door with a double dose of flair. Self assured and always positive, her outer beauty definitely mirrors the person she is on the inside.
So here’s to this week’s beauty crush, Ella Eyre!  For more, spy our gallery above.

Show Review: Saint Laurent Spring 2018

The fountain of Trocadero provided the perfect setting for Saint Laurent’s Spring 2018 fashion show—fully equipped with a magnificent view of the Eiffel Tower. A quote from the late Pierre Bergé was written on a card placed on each guest’s seat: “Maybe this is crazy love. The love of two madmen.” And the looks to follow were certainly amorous and daring, with Anthony Vaccarello’s love for full-on sex appeal on display:

Statement-making earrings and embellished dresses made the case for every single cocktail party any of us are attending in 2018.

Not sure how wearable jacquard rompers and furry boots are as a pairing, but if anyone could make the look seem appealing, it’s Vaccarello.

Cool, printed jackets uplifted simple black trousers for the guys.

Feathers were out of control and decadent, pretty much turning the models into modern-day birds of prey.

We cannot wait to see how the house’s fans wear these looks in real-time. Zoe Kravitz would look darling in a strapless, bubble sleeved embellished LBD, while Madonna could totally pull of an Eiffel Tower-embroidered bomber jacket.

On the Scene: The Dior Spring 2018 Fashion Show with Winnie Harlow, Jasmine Sanders, Olivia Palermo, and More!

As is requisite at this point each season, Dior’s Spring 2018 fashion show front row was star-studded. Though I was hoping for an appearance from Rihanna, the rest of the ladies in attendance surely brought the glamour.

Check out the show’s front row ensembles:

Winnie Harlow layered a suede trench over a shimmering catsuit. Hot!

A post shared by Jasmine Sanders (@golden_barbie) on

Jasmine Sanders flaunted her mile-long gams in a flirty LBD.

Olivia Palermo offset black accents with checkered trousers. I live for her style!

Emily Ratajkowski was white hot in a bustier LWD with a sultry slit.

Aimee Song toughened up a lively, printed dress with black leather boots. Cute, no?

Camila Coelho kept it flirty in a sheer, embroidered skirt.

Negin Mirsalehi was 70’s chic in a sheer maxi dress and suede coat. This was fab!

Susie Bubble layered it on in an embroidered, cropped shearling jacket, graphic t-shirt, striped pants, and swiss dot flats.

Nicole Warne uplifted a simple, black and white ‘fit with a floral embroidered coat. So chic.

Show Review: Dior Spring 2018

“Why Have There Been No Great Women Artists?” read the opening t-shirt of Dior’s Spring 2018 show—inspierd by a pioneering feminist 1971 essay written by Linda Nochlin. The collection certainly felt powerful and empowering, with functional denim, badass aviators, edgy leather, and wearable flats.

Veiled berets were paired with shaggy furs, while knee-high, mesh lace-up boots presented some serious foot candy for the season.

Sheer dresses were on the agenda—giving a flash of striped bodysuits and high-waist briefs.

Shorts were paired with long jackets and graphic sweaters for a real-time way to get through that Winter to Spring transition.

The iconic house’s legion of fans and faces includes Jennifer Lawrence, Zoe Kravitz, Angelina Jolie, and Rihanna. So we know all of the aforementioned ladies already have their eyes on the collection’s red carpet-ready wares. A sheer strapless swiss dot, tulle gown on Lineisy Montero was provocative yet gorgeous and a flirty pink mini dress was just the piece for one of Tinseltown’s more playful fashionistas.

Show Review: Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2018

For Milan, the nostalgia has been palpable. With Donatella beautifully paying homage to her brother, Gianni, twenty years after his passing to Missoni revivng a few of its classic patterns, it would only be fitting for Domenico and Stefano to follow suit. But where other houses relied on archived patterns, Dolce and Gabbana looked to things that reminded them of the essence of old Italia.  Despite that, it seems the house is steadfast in shifting its core demographic to a younger audience, injecting lots of high-voltage accesories and an array of colored and intricately patterned looks into this collection.
Not devoid of any of its quintessential sultry aesthetic, a few black sheer pieces sauntered down the catwalk, amplifying the boudoir feel of this segment. The standout: a tulle dress with a built-in lace up corset.

An onslaught of printed maxi dresses brightened up the runway, emblazoned with wild fauna and lush vegetation. Lemons, carrots, and radishes permeated floor grazing frocks, uplifted by fruity earrings.

A romantic essence has pervaded the Dolce and Gabbana runways for a while, and this season proved no different. The Queen of Hearts escaped the deck of cards to bring Domenico’s and Stefano’s vision to life, honoring how regal love can make a woman feel.    Sharply tailored suits offset the overall ultra-feminine mood, in vivid pinks with fuschia piping, stripes and brocade.

All-in-all, this collection was as Dolce as Gabbana could be, gilded crowns, red lips, and a throng of models dressed in black undergarments closed the show.  But beyond the beautiful clothes, the collection felt like the perfect marriage of the old world and the new, echoing the house’s sentiment of finding beauty in its surroundings and finding inspiration from the past to propel the future. For the full collection, spy our gallery above.

Rock It Or Knock It? Milan Spring 2018 Fashion Week’s Sock Trend

Wearing visible socks with shoes is by no means new: it’s been a cornerstone of ladylike dressing for longer than we can remember. It’s also a go-to for skaters and the streetwear set, who cherish their feet-covering accoutrements as much as their kicks. A bevy of London Fashion Week designers captured the iconic look, from Burberry to Erdem. The fad then hopped, skipped, and jumped to Milan where some of the biggest houses are cashed in on the moment:

Dolce & Gabbana anchored red carpet-ready dresses and sheer suits with lace and sheer socks for maximum sizzle.

Prada’s socks were knee-high and paired with striped shorts, brogues, and oversized blazers.

Binx Walton strutted down the Fendi catwalk in plaid socks, as did a few other models—an interesting mix against stripes. The house’s designs rose up to the thighs, which presented a hint of coquettishness under sheer dresses.

Missoni’s shimmered in glittering lurex fabric—cut up to there, for easy peeking with bikini briefs, mini dresses, and hot pants.

MSGM showed tie dye socks with everything from oversized denim jackets to bold, plaid coats.

Cardi B Makes History With Bodak Yellow Moving to No. 1 on Billboard Charts

Name a day party or barbecue you went to this summer without acting out to Cardi B’s Bodak Yellow.” I’ll wait. Everyone owns a pair of red bottoms and makes money moves when this song comes on all thanks to Cardi B. Today, the female rapper proved that she does in fact make ‘money moves.’ She made history being the first female rapper to hit No.1 with a solo since Lauryn Hill’s “Doo Wop” in 1998.

The race to the No.1 spot was a tough one. Cardi’s hardworking team and her loyal fans dubbed, #BardiGang were eager to get her the top spot. She beat out Taylor Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do” that sat at No.1 for a few weeks.

Cardi rose from a Love & Hip-Hop reality star to a history-making rapper, and we are here for it. She has been having an amazing year of hustling, and slaying while she’s at it.

Cardi, you are a bombshell and Fashion Bomb Daily congratulates you!
