Real Street Style: Bahamas Fashion Week 2017 by Shawn T Photography

Happy Saturday!

I touched down in Nassau, Bahamas for their very first Bahamas Fashion Week! I’m on the scene taking in local designers, eating great food, and also capturing street style with photographer Shawn T. Take a look at who he captured last night:

Bombshell Keywonah was resplendent in an off white ensemble, topped off by a turban.

Gustavus Cox aka @_WorldRenown cut a fine form in a salmon hued suit.

Ife aka @ifevlogs worked yellow and houndstooth. Yes, abs!

This fashion show goer uplifted an LBD with a denim jacket and a furry clutch.

Plaid is certainly on trend, as witnessed with the red plaid and yellow look.

Lastly, photographer Shawn T himself and his friend @_Maldawg worked red and green and dope shades.
Today, I’ll be speaking on a panel and taking in the last day of Bahamas Fashion Week! Stay tuned for the full report next week.

Until then, what do you think of style from Bahamas Fashion Week?

On the Scene: Kourtney Kardashian’s Pretty Little Thing Collaboration Launch Party with Kourtney Kardashian, Teyana Taylor, Laura Govan, and More!

The stars showed up and showed out to support Kourtney Kardashian and her Pretty Little Thing collaboration. We’re coveting the collection for all of our holiday parties, with pieces starting at $18.

Let’s get into the night’s looks!

Kourtney Kardashian sizzled in a $45 sequin LBD and $55 lace-up pumps from her collaboration. Hot!

Teyana Taylor flaunted her toned abs in a white crop top and high-waist striped trousers.

It was all about stripes and curves for Laura Govan in a crop top and pencil skirt set.

Adrienne Bailon was quite modest in a white t-shirt layered underneath a navy flare mini dress.

Christina Milian flaunted her curves in a 90’s-inspired plaid bodycon and sock-inspired booties.

Shanina Shaik was on-trend in floral, pajama-inspired separates.

Masika Kalysha paired a white, ruffle lace top with black skirted trousers.

Wiz Khalifa and girlfriend Isabela Guedes were pared-down in kicks, though her camo turtleneck crop top and cobalt flares definitely made a statement.

Malika Haqq shimmered in a bronze mini dress.

India Love layered it on in a Tupac graphic t-shirt worn as a dress, Gucci logo tights, and white lace-up booties.

Chantel Jeffries skewed sultry in a lace bralette, layered underneath a sparkling black suit.

Nicole Williams showcased her mile-long legs in a printed mini dress.

Look of the Week (The Top 5 Most Liked Looks on Instagram): Zendaya in Teresa Helbig, Kerry Washington in Roberto Cavalli, Kris Jenner in Dolce & Gabbana, and More!

Hey, y’all! Hope you all had a splendid week. I am exceptionally excited to share with you who had the top looks on Instagram based on your likes. Of course, it’s a treat every week, but I think you’ll be just as enthused as I am when you get through with this recap. Shall we?

1. Zendaya in Teresa Helbig: 33,465 Likes

I haven’t seen a flip curl since it’s resurgence back in the early 2000s, but leave to to Zendaya and her talented stylist, Law Roach, to push the envelope a bit and take us back to Jackie-O’s signature ‘do. She kept with the vintage vibe and wore a pastel high neck top by Teresa Helbig paired with showstopping high waisted sequins pants. What is not to love?!

2. Kerry Washington in Roberto Cavalli: 12,998 Likes

Is there really much I need to say for this? I mean, Kerry Washington was literally popping in this bomb floral pant suit by Roberto Cavalli. How perfect is this suit for the fall season? All the luscious colors and prints just gives all the feels. She was a vision with a vibrant smile to match. I’m quite sure she stole the show with this one!

3. Kris Jenner in Dolce and Gabbana: 11,499 Likes

You guys, say what you want about the Kardashians, but you cannot deny mama Kris’ tenacity for life. All her hard work has rewarded her with one heck of a life and it shows. Daughter, Kim, dropped a bombshell on us when she posted this pic of Kris in a new blonde ‘do, serving for the gods, dripped in a plush fur stole. As if that weren’t enough, she wore a stunning Dolce and Gabbana floral silk ensemble and played on the red with a killer pair of red boots and a Birkin to match. Bravo, mama Kris!

4. Cassie & Diddy in Dsquared and Tom Ford: 10,158 Likes

Cassie and Diddy attended Guy Oseary’s wedding in Rio looking like the dynamic duo that they are with Cassie in a Dsqaured floral ensemble and Diddy suited up in Tom Ford. As we all know, Diddy prides himself in his dapper appearance and I’d say he’s got every right. The iridescent suit jacket was a great choice to celebrate nuptials from the plethora of Tom Ford selections we’ve seen.

Cassie on the other hand loves to mix risqué with a bit of edge hence the lace bustier and drool worthy Dsqaured floral leather jacket. Did you catch the matching sheer high low skirt with the train? Love! Rarely do you ever see one without the other and it’s quite the treat for us when we catch them on the fly, so we’re not mad at it!

5. Lala in Rani Zakhem: 9,232 Likes

Lala looked radiant in a Rani Zakhem gown at the Angel Ball. What a gorgeous design! I love how it graduates from a dark shimmer to a vibrant gold. One thing for sure is that Lala knows how to shake it up and serve on all levels.

Adored all these looks!

Claire’s Life: Jay Manuel’s Beauty Event featuring Iman, Alfre Woodard, Jay Alexander, and More!

Happy Thursday, folks!

Yesterday I popped by Jay Manuel’s beauty event, celebrating his new partnership with Simon Malls.

Jay has initiated a new retail experience for beauty enthusiasts buying products at makeup counters. In addition to furnishing customers with glorious lighting, Jay has conceived of several high tech additions, including computers that remember past purchases so that you can buy your favorites with a click. Cool, right?

Several Fashion and Beauty insiders came to celebrate Mr. Jay, including Miss Jay Alexander, Lionbabe, Alfre Woodard , Bethann Hardison, and supermodel Iman, whose Impala beauty company owns Mr Jay’s eponymous brand.

For the night, I kept it colorful in a Solace London dress, Gianvito Rossi pumps and a Saint Laurent bag from A Daily Diva.

I am currently en route to my motherland Bahamas for Bahamas Fashion Week! I decided to take my mom as my plus one because she is responsible for my life, love of fashion, and it’s her birthday! Stay tuned for pix.

In the meantime, be sure to check our Jay Manuel’s line at JayManuelBeauty.com and stop by his retail experience at your local Simon Mall. Know when a Jay Manuel counter is coming to a mall near you by following @JayManuelBeauty on Instagram.

Smooches!

PS Mr. Jay will actually be one of our special guests at our VIP brunch at Cocktails with Claire x Ty Hunter New York!

Seagram’s Spiked drinks is a sponsor and has offered 3 readers the chance to win free tickets to the event. Stay tuned for rules to entry on @FashionBombDaily.

Virgil Abloh, Hailey Baldwin, Stan Smith, and More to Be Honored At This Year’s 31st FN Achievement Awards

The 31st FN Achievement Awards goes down right after Cyber Monday, on Tuesday November 28th. The awards show just released its list of awards recipients this year, which includes some of our faves:

Air Jordan 1 x Virgil Abloh will receive the Shoe of the Year award, while Hailey Baldwin will take home the Style Influencer of the Year award. The Manolo Blahnik Lifetime Achievement honor will go to none other than shoe icon Stan Smith and Ronnie Fieg will have the Collaborator of the Year award to place on his mantle. Other award recipients include Gianvito Rossi with Designer of the Year, Malone Souliers with the Vivian Infantino Emerging Talent Award, Attico with Launch of the Year, Birkenstock with Brand of the Year, Steve Madden Ltd. with Company of the Year, and Puma with Marketer of the Year.

Abloh is following in Rihanna’s footsteps, as she took home the 2016 Shoe of the Year award for her FENTY Puma Creepers. And Smith returns to the awards show, after winning the 2014 Shoe of the Year Award.

“Every year, we work hard to select the brands, designers, and influencers who shape the shoe industry,” stated FN Editorial Director Michael Atmore. “Leading the pack is Virgil Abloh, one of the biggest fashion forces of 2017, who grabs the shoe of the year crown. Abloh’s Air Jordan 1 set off a feeding frenzy that saw sneaker aficionados and celebrities alike crave the limited-edition style. He joins an incredible list of talents at what promises to be a star-studded evening.”
