Claire’s Life: The Fete Fashion Show During CIAA Featuring Fabolous, Nyoni Couture, Shop Jesse Queen, Made in Italie Swimwear, and More!

Happy Hump Day, folks!
This past Sunday, while most were knee deep in Oscars territory, I was graciously invited to Charlotte, North Carolina to co-host the Fete Fashion Show as part of CIAA Weekend!

I took to the stage with Fashion Bomb Men King Fabolous for a spell, but spent most of my time admiring and discovering a few designers you should know.
Behold a few you must bookmark:
1. Made in Italie Swimwear (@MadeinItalieSwimwear; MIISwim.com.)

Hit the beach in serious style in these chic one pieces, that boast alluring cut outs and bright colors.

Go from the pool to the party by slipping on a pair of jeans and heels.

Bomb!

2. Ms. Bling Miami (@MsBlingMiami; www.msblingmiami.com)

My Haitian sister Pascale has a solid online following because of her ‘sassy yet classy’ style. She decided to create a line that falls in line with her aesthetic, which embraces bright colors, feminine lines, and wide legged pants.

3. Nyoni Couture (@Nyoni_couture, www.nyonicouture.com)

Dapper gents need look no further than Nyoni Couture. The designer was born in Liberia and raised in Europe, and his suits have a supremely tailored fit.

Bepoke blokes will find a lot to love!

4. Shop Jesse Queen (@ShopJesseQueen; JesseQueen.com)

Jesse Queen fashion clothes for tall ladies with style. Her line bubbled over with dresses and chic sets with elongated hemlines.

The Top 10 Vanity Fair Oscar After Party Looks with Kendell Jenner in Redemption, Angela Bassett in Teresa Helbig, Lupita Nyong’o in Armani Prive, and More!

After the show is the after-party! If you thought the glam stopped on the red carpet, think again. While there were plenty of fetes after the Academy Awards, a lot of stars stopped by Vanity Fair’s annual celebration. We gathered the top looks based on your Instagram likes, who’s ready for the heat?! Get into it below!

Kendell Jenner, you did that! She wore the LBD of all LBD’s. What is there not to love about this look?! The youngest of the Kardashian/ Jenner clan attended the party baring all legs in a mini Redemption dress with a deep plunging neck. We can’t forget those statement sleeves that stole the show. This look is a head turner for sure, Kendell certainly wow’ed everyone.

Queen Angela Bassett brought color to the carpet, sparking in a Teresa Helbig pantsuit. The ageless beauty brought out the red hues of the ensemble with red strap sandals. This hair is giving all the life and put the cherry on top of this bomb look.

Behold, Miss Halle Berry! She showed off her hot legs rocking a mini embellished Zuhair Murad dress. In addition to her legs, Halle showed off cleavage with the low cut look and served every bit of class. She is such a beauty!

As if her Oscars red carpet dress wasn’t enough, Lupita kept the heat coming at the after-party! She was a vision in a sleek Armani Prive gown. The deep cut in the front and side cut-outs flattered the actress’ shape so well. Lupita nails it everytime!

Can this beauty do any wrong?! Zendaya stunned in a champagne Michael Kors gown. The dress had a slim fitting shape at the top and curved into tulle detailing. Zendaya was a favorite from readers who commented, “She has knocked it out of the park with this stunning outfit. It’s perfect,” and “Wow! I thought I loved her first dress! Amazing!” She was indeed a vision.

Talk about a drape! Jasmine Tookes glowed in a draped Jean-Louis Sabaji Couture gown. The metallic dress was a great choice for Tookes’ skin tone that looked luminous on the carpet. The caped sleeve detail made the look even more stunning! Bravo, Jasmine.

Salma Hayek did it for the culture on the carpet! The actress was draped in a Gucci x Dapper Dan Atelier dress. Yes—Dapper Dan on the red carpet! The pink two-piece set featured Gucci logo embellishment and had Dapper Dan’s name bedazzled on the back. We’re here for the representation!

Mary J Blige attended the soirée glimmering in a gold Vera Wang gown. Similar to her awards show look, the dress had off-the-shoulder tulle detailing. The tulle stayed consistent to the end of the dress giving even more of a wow factor to the sequins. Did we mention the silhouette of the gown had Mary’s curves looking like everything!

Danai Gurira made an entrance in a sleek white Gabriela Hearst dress, but what she accessorized with is what turned heads. The Black Panther actress had white hair art designed on the side of her head combining the white hues with a pop of red lip. This is so simple and chic, yet fierce at the same time. Love it, Danai!

Kerry Washington took a risk in an Alexandre Vauthier one-shoulder dress. This look was far from Washington’s usual carpet looks, but the edgy route looks good on her. The sequin shoulder pizazz along with her red lip and pink earrings definitely brought out the look and elevated it from a simple black ensemble.

The Hottest Looks From The Oscars Red Carpet with Zendaya in Giambattista Valli, Taraji P Henson in Vera Wang, Lupita Nyong’o in Atelier Versace, and More!

Happy Monday Bombers and Bombshells!

Red carpet season is slowing down and coming to an end, but the celebs seem to be heating it all the way up. Last night at the 90th Academy Awards, our favorite stars graced the carpet and some even took home Oscars. We tallied up your likes on Instagram and complied a best dressed list that you deemed worthy. Let’s get into it!

Hot, hot, and hot! Taraji P Henson played no games on the carpet in this custom Vera Wang dress. The frock featured lots of leg with a saucy high thigh slit and we are here for it. The actress added details with tulle arm accessorizes  that were perfectly in sync with the dress. Ms. Henson always brings it!

We can always count on Lupita Nyong’o to grace the carpet in an absolutely beautiful dress. She looked regal in a one-shoulder Atelier Versace dress. The shimmery dress screams glam! The details of this look is everything from the high thigh slit to the black and gold structured shoulder, to the gold wefted accessory in her hair. Divine!

All Hail Queen Mary! Although she didn’t take home an Oscar, she did have a winning performance and she looked absolutely amazing. Mary J Blige sang “Mighty River” from “Mudbound” in a burgundy custom Vera Wang gown. Get into the off-the-shoulder tulle sleeves and the amazing fit on Mary’s curves. The gorgeous gown called for simple dangling earrings which kept the attention on the superb dress.

Viola Davis sparkled in a hot pink Michael Kors dress. The actress added more glam to her look rocking simple diamond jewelry. This look was not her usual, but she sure did look amazing. The pulled back hair brought out her beauty even more. Stunning, Viola!

Tiffany Haddish made a royal entrance honoring her late father’s roots in an Eritrean traditional grab. Truly stunning! What better way to honor her people and her father than on the Oscars carpet? Tiffany never fails to amaze us.

Whoopi Goldberg hit the carpet in a bold belted off-the-shoulder Christian Siriano belted gown. This look was in fact out of the norm compared to Whoopi’s red carpet looks in the past, but readers loved it! Comments read,”Do this more Whoopi!” and “You slayed this look Ms. Goldberg, you slayed!!” She topped it off with round retro shades.

King T’Challa! Black Panther star, Chadwick Boseman has been bringing the heat to the carpet all season long. The actor kept it sleek in a Givenchy ensemble with embellished shoulders. It’s not often that we see men on the red carpet in longline blazers, but Boseman proves that it can be done and look hot. So handsome!

Get Out actress Betty Gabriel gave goddess vibes in a teal Tony Ward couture dress. The sheer cut-out in the front was a great addition to the gown. Not to mention, Gabriel’s hair and make-up looked flawless.

When have we ever seen Common not looking dapper? He always shows up and out to the carpet—the lyricist was suited up in an Armani suit. Readers were loving him in the comments saying, “Common is the quintessential gentlemen! Love this!” and “He’s always perfect.” We couldn’t agree more!

Octavia Spencer was a vision in Brandon Maxwell draped off-the-shoulder gown. The hunter green color certainly looks amazing on her and the waist cinching belt complements her body so well. What is not to love?!

Lastly, Gina Rodriguez kept it chic in a Zuhair Murad belted dress. This look pretty much speaks for itself, with a deep v-neck and embellishment throughout the gown it looked stunning. Comments read, “Best dressed for sure,” and “Obsessed! She looks so pretty.” Beautiful!
