The 2018 AMA’s went down last night, and of course, our favorite stars were in the building!
We broke down all the looks as they hit the carpet on Instagram @FashionBombDailyMag, but filtered out the top five below:

1. Cardi B in Dolce & Gabbana: 3,361 Likes

Cardi B looked like a blooming garden in a Dolce & Gabbana gown with a matching headdress. Bomb! Kollin Carter slays again! Offset looked great as well as her doting date.

2. Tracee Ellis Ross in Pyer Moss, Dapper Dan, LaVie by CK, and More

You guys didn’t like just one of Tracee Ellis Ross’s looks: you liked them all!

Every single ensemble Ms. Tracee wore slid in to the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th most ‘liked’ slot.

Not only did Tracee look great–but she made a much needed statement by wearing all black designers, highlighting the beauty and talent of diversity.

She is a certifiable, undeniable Bombshell.

3. Ciara in Dsquared2: 2,207 Likes

Cici looked snatched in a straight from the runway Dsquared2 look, topped off by the brand’s lace up sandals. Baby Future was also an adorable date.

4. Tyra Banks in Gucci: 1,620 Likes

Tyra Banks looked like a life sized Barbie Doll for the festivities in a Gucci fringed skirt, a Carolina Constas top, and a St. Germaine cap. Hats off to stylist J Bolin!

5. Amandla Stenberg in Ralph Lauren: 1,154 Likes

Amandla Stenberg flouted tradition at the AMA’s, opting for a Ralph Lauren blazer, bowtie, and Karla Welch x Levis jeans.

The American Music Awards bowed last night, and Tracee Ellis Ross hosted in style, wearing all black designers for the celebration of music. Take a look:


She first hit the carpet in a salmon pink Pyer Moss suit, which she accented with crystal jewelry and a slicked back hairstyle.

She next hit the stage in a Gucci x Dapper Dan cape, worn over a Nicolas Jebran sequined jumpsuit.

A frothy tulle look from Virgil Abloh’s Off White collection was a supremely feminine choice for the festivities.

I was living for all of her looks, but this leopard Sergio Hudson ensemble was definitely one of my favorites.

Another one of my fave looks: this sequined tuxedo gown by Balmain.

Ms. Ross encouraged people to go out and vote in an “I am a Voter” tee and a SHVNY Spring 2019 red skirt.

A gold, futuristic CD Greene dress was a great choice.

Tracee embraced Ankara print in a regal LaViebyCK gown.

Deshon.V is a newer designer, but Tracee gave them a shot, wearing a blue look by the brand for one of her many outfit changes.

And lastly, Tracee closed out the show in a red jumpsuit by Cushnie.

Her fashion icon status is secured!

After we shed some light on the lack of black designers at the Black Panther premiere (and also provided a list of some red carpet worthy designers), stylists and celebrities with a platform have been making a concerted effort to diversity their style choices. First, Issa Rae hosted the CFDA awards in all black designers, and Tracee has continued to hold the torch with her multitude of looks at the AMAs. Salute to them for using their fame to bring visbility to the talent of underrepresented minority designers. Way to make a statement!

A lot of people might wonder: What is Convos with Claire?

CWC started off as Cocktails with Claire: an opportunity for me to meet n greet some of the many fly and fashionable readers of Fashion Bomb Daily! Our first CWC was actually in Atlanta in 2013…

… and since then, we’ve had networking events in D.C., San Francisco, LA, New York, Lagos, Paris, London, and more.

At first our format was simple: just come, grab a cocktail, and have fun! But now, we’ve incorporated an empowering portion, where I have candid conversations with industry insiders, asking them how they got their start in the business, and gleening tips we can all use to inform our careers.

Having a great network is important–yes. But getting advice from people who have actually ‘made it’ in the industry, and having the opportunity to ask them questions is priceless!

This is what we offer to you with Convos with Claire. Knowledge and networking over food, drinks, and fashion. The dress code always adds an extra dose of fun.

This past weekend, Fashion Bomb stars headed down to Miami for BET’s annual Hip Hop Awards. From neon to pink ruffles to fabulous hair, the style was certainly on tap. Read on for some of our faves:

Juju shined bright in one of the hottest looks of the night, an on trend neon vinyl suit by TLZ Femme. Hot!

Neon was also on the menu for rapstress Dreamdoll, who rocked the green carpet with a neon ‘do, a Balmain dress, and YSL feathered sandals.

Bold tones continued for the fellas! Behold Deray Davis in a LTHJKT suede look. I like!

T.I. opted for subdued in a Hideo Bespoke shirt and Dolce & Gabbana pants.

Young Ma kept it cool and casual in a Valentino logo tee.

Inside, Reginae Carter looked bomb with blue hair and a Fall 2018 Versace ensemble.

Blac Chyna showed off her curves in a Dare to be Vintage dress.

BET Executive Vice President Connie Orlando looked bomb in a Tom Ford skirt and Christian Louboutin pumps.

Lastly, the king and queen Keyshia Kaoir and Gucci Mane blessed the festivities in coordinated pink and blue looks. They’re adorable.
