Happy Wednesday!
Popping in to quickly tell you about Virgin Hair Depot’s 613c collection!
As many of you know, about a year ago, I traded in my signature blonde Locs, for red Locs before I cut it all off and started to dip my toe into the world of hair (see the YouTube video here). Blonde is my ‘thing’…but finding great wigs that were thick, great quality, didn’t shed, and had movement was difficult for a long time! I was so happy to find Virgin Hair Depot, whose 613C collection of 100% human hair features all sorts of textures, lengths, and tones.
Since discovering Virgin Hair Depot, I’ve had lots of fun playing with lengths and cuts.
I stand by their quality, and encourage you to check them out (and tell them I sent you!).
See more and shop at VirginHairDepot.com.

Animal print is a huge trend this fall/winter period. Leopard, Snakeskin and Tiger seem to be the top picks at the moment with everyone trying to show their wild side. Another classic animal inspired trend that I have recently noticed to be popping up everywhere, is feathers.
Whether it is feather accessories, delicately added feathers or an all out feather frenzy. Celebrities and fashionistas alike have been loving this look. The use of feathers in any outfit can bring an air of sophistication and glamour to any look, day or night.
How Can You Wear It?
Look 1 – Feathers on Bags: One of the easiest ways to wear feathers is through the use of accessories. Use your feathery bag to dress up any outfit, whether it is a trusted LBD on a night out or a jeans and statement shirt combo for a brunch date with the girls.

Look 2 – Feathery Shoes: Shoes can make or break an outfit. Try your hand at this feather trend by making it all about a statement shoe.

YSL and Steve Madden have also recently been spied with plumage. Think about paring them with simple outfits to really make these babies pop.
Look 3 – A Touch of Feathers: Feathery shoes not quite your thing? Try a simple feather trim or chic burst of feathers. A little or a lot.. it’s your choice.
JLo was seen wearing a plush pink Valentino number in Qatar.
Look 4 – Choosing One Feathered Item: Take it to the next level by selecting one standout item with feathers such as a skirt or a top. Balance out the feathers by wearing it with something more streamline and structured to avoid looking overly puffy.

Who could forget this unforgettable Cardi B Christian Cowan suit in another stunning lilac color. So iconic, it was a Halloween staple this year.
Look 5 – Feather Bomb: This final look is not for the faint hearted and best reserved for an evening event where you want to make an impact. Go OTT in a full blown feather look.
Not once, but twice we saw bride-of-the-moment Priyanka Chopra elegantly pull off feathery looks. First time was at her NYC bridal shower in a stunning Marchesa dress. The second at her bachelorette party in Georges Chakra.
In LA, Chiara Ferragni modernised the look by wearing this feather and embellished Attico mini dress in this years’ most wanted color – lilac.

The sleek white-suited Victoria Beckham may have grabbed up the Style Icon award at the E! People’s Choice Awards last night, but it was the less understated pink-haired Nicki Minaj whose looks from the event that have been breaking the internet. The Red Carpet was literally glittering, with Versace clad glamazons, Gaultier goals, Balmain bombshells and more. The Best Dressed are either over-the-top extra, or minimal and classic. We saw many monochromatic, black and white looks, and then there were equally beautiful embellished designs; feathers, embroidery, gold structures and sculpted ruffles. Let’s take a look at who blessed the festivities:

Sorry I’ve been so quiet! I am currently in the midst of writing my 2nd book, which I hope to have available for you at Convos with Claire in New York on December 1st! Which means my deadline is like…tomorrow and I’m nowhere near done. Still, I wanted to pop my head in quickly to tell you why I love being a brand ambassador!
In writing my book, I’ve had to research the nooks and crannies of all things FBD. And while FBD started off as shopping tales about me, then super celebrity focused, then all about a mix of designers and stars, there came a point when I began to use my expertise and knowledge in marketing to come up with campaigns myself.
Some amazing brands I’ve been blessed to work with over the years include Toyota, Virgin Hair Depot, Reebok, Martini & Rossi, and so many more.
Of course I love to create! But I also love to help brands come up with new and inventive ways to reach potential customers!
If you have a brand and would like to work together, email bookclairesulmers@gmail.com!
Smootches!
*I’m also excited to announce that I am launching candles with Intuition LA! I absolutely love candles in my home, so decided to parter with Intuition on a line, just in time for the holidays!
My first scent, Claire No 5, smells of Cedar Wood, Teakwood, Jasmine, and Vanilla.
And my 2nd candle, The Bomb Life, features notes of Rosemary, Water Lily, Vanilla Sandalwood, Pink Sugar, Egyptian Musk, and Mayan musk.
Get your candles here and here.
Y’all don’t seem to like to comment as much as you used to, so here’s a test! Leave a comment telling me why you love FBD! The best comment will win a candle, courtesy of yours truly.
With lots of Love & Light!

Last night was the first day of taping for the Victoria Secret annual fashion show, however it was Brazilian model, Adriana Lima’s, last day as Victoria Secret Angel. Just last year, Lima expressed how she was retiring from the runway which left people to wonder if she was leaving Victoria Secret as well. Well, she confirmed it tonight. Lima made a heartfelt post on Instagram about her retirement from Victoria Secret following the show, thanking VS and her fans for everything.
Adriana Lima is one of the most famous Victoria Secret Models. She started in 1999 at the age of 18 years old and she has been an Angel since 2000. From then on, Adriana Lima has been a fan favorite and a lingerie company favorite as being under such a prestige lingerie contract opened many other doors for her in the industry. She has been with Victoria Secret for 19 years and missed only one show in 2009 due to pregnancy. But she came back stronger than ever in 2010, as she sported a fantasy bra down the runway. Now, wearing the fantasy bra was one of the highest privileges and recognitions that an Angel could achieve…Lima has worn the fantasy bra 3 times, so that says a lot.
Lima is labeled as the “most valuable Victoria Secret Angel” because she has gained such a huge fanbase and following over the years. She is loved by Victoria Secret and fans all around. As she walked down the runway last night, she was a bit emotional as she took her farewell wave and walk yet still looking amazing like she did in 1999.

Last night at the Victoria’s Secret annual fashion show made it’s way back to NYC. While amazing feathers, angel wings, and more walked the runway the fashion didn’t start there — celeb attendees shut down the pink carpet! See some of the looks below.
Bella Hadid hit the red carpet before walking the runway wearing a plunging neck Julien Macdonald dress.
Duckie Thot tried her hand at the neon trend rocking a Off White look. How amazing does this color look on her skin?!
Justine Skye looked like a goddess wearing an orange Kim Shui draped dress and a pop of color purple pump. Her twists looked amazing with this look!
Rita Ora was a vision donning a Versace sequin frock. Bomb!
Lala Anthony wore a zebra printed Halpern dress. I love the draped detailing!
The draped look was on trend last night! Bebe Rexha stunned wearing a red Alexandre Vaunthier dress. Her blunt cut was the perfect accessory.
Winnie Harlow made history as the first model with vitiligo to walk the VS show last night. Before that she popped by the carpet to show off her stems wearing a fringe Dundas dress.
Victoria Justice also wore a Dundas look! This printed puff sleeve dress by the brand.

Ladies…what’s the new show off piece currently on high trend alert? CAMO!
Camo is the new denim everyone is looking for due to its stylish practicality. Just like denim, you can get 10 times the wear because it’s a print worth repeating. You can wear the same camo pants 50 different times and style it 50 different ways – and it’s more than ok for securing multiple “drip drips” on the gram.
Camo is the canvas for an artsy fashion “It Girl” that loves to style & wow. The fatigue color palettes allow you to mix, match and blend print because it’s a neutral base. You can really express your creativity by slaying a unique camo stretch, fit and cut that’s right for you.
The challenge statement presented for today’s street style connoisseur is “If you want to show me who you are in fashion, style this camo print.”
HOW TO STYLE YOUR CAMO
It’s really about mixing and matching with the right pieces to feminize the look. The key question to drive your camo styling is “How do I make this look feminine and give it lady like direction?” A feminine approach can include pairing your camo piece with ruffles, sequin, chiffon, a stylish coat, or a sexy heel.
Green camo is the easiest to work with. But keep in mind – we’re not rocking camo for combat. Camo is all about love not war. However, when you slay this look, that’s how you can “Be All You Can Be” lol.
CAMO STYLING RULES:
A camo top should be paired with skinny jeans instead of a wide leg. Camo bottoms should be paired with a feminine cut top, instead of a boxy cut. Any tee worn with camo bottoms should also be lady like tight and fitting.
WHAT EVENTS ARE BEST FOR CAMO:
Camo is perfect for weekend plans which could include tailgating and game day, homecomings, day parties, club lounging, festivals and concerts. For any of these festivities you can be sure that camo would fit the bill.
HOW DO YOU KNOW IF THIS LOOK WORKS FOR YOU?
EVERBODY can wear camo. Any size, any complexion, it doesn’t matter at all.
WHAT CELEBRITIES HAVE BEEN KILLING THIS LOOK?
The 3 that come to mind based on how they’ve been killing my timeline are Beyonce, Kim K and Monica. When they stepped out in camo they did not come to play.
HOW DOES THIS LOOK MAKE A STATEMENT FOR THE CULTURE?
Camo pushes street style culture to the max. Its #BadAzz with femininity and disruption. We’re taking military garment and combining a military mindset with a lady like styling approach for unpredictable contrast.
Ladies we finally have an item worth repeating and wearing over and over again without being called out! Camo has gone viral and is flying off the racks, as fashionistas are constantly looking for it to creatively make a fashion statement. Camo has become art – and if Picasso were alive today, he would re-create the Mona Lisa in a sexy fitting camo top with no chill.
Traci Evans is a fashion stylist and owner of Meow and Barks Boutique.
House of CB is known for their show stopping looked beloved by many celebs including Queen Bey, Jlo, and more. Most recently we noticed Draya showed off her curves in the brand’s $209 ‘Fornarina’ dress, previously worn by Kylie Jenner. So you know we have to ask — who wore it better?
Jenner wore hers back in the spring with Yeezy heels and a black leather jacket adding a bit of edge to the ruched dress. Just a few months post-baby, she looked snatched in the frock!
House of CB rolled out the dress in red for the holidays and Draya slipped it on for a night out this week wearing it with a dazzling choker and leopard print sandals. Her sleek hairstyle and accessories looked made for an elegant look.
The $209 dress is a bit of a splurge, but could turn lots of heads at a holiday celebration this season—especially if you’re into showing your curves off! Get it here if you want to try your hand at the style.
