It is with a heavy heart we report that model and mother Kim Porter has died at the age of 47.
According to several reports, she had been suffering with pneumonia for weeks, and was found dead after respondents answered a 911 call of a “patient complaining of cardiac arrest.“
She leaves behind her children: Quincy, Christian Casey Combs, Jessie James Combs, D’Lila Star Combs, along with exes Al B. Sure and Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs.
Kim Porter was a quiet force in the industry; her good looks, quiet grace, and effortless style were her calling cards.
The Fashion Bomb Family extends its deepest condolences to the Porter and Combs family at this difficult time.
Happy Thursday!

Teddy bear coats have been in the spotlight for a little while now as the perfect winter-time outerwear essential. Teddy bear coats get their name from their fleece like material, reminiscent of our childhood teddy bears. Not to mention they are incredibly cozy.
The first teddy bear coat to make its’ mark was the Max Mara Teddy Bear Icon coat rocked by Kim Kardashian way back in 2013. Since then, there have been many variations from the original tan, long length coat – proving this is a wardrobe staple that’s here to stay.

The 2018 update of the infamous teddy bear coat, means that they now come in a range of colors as well as length. Australian label I AM GIA is most well known for updating the length to create a trendy bomber jacket style. Worn oversized, the Pixie coat is one of the favoured among faces of the fashion and Instagram world.
With the varying lengths available today, the teddy bear coat can easily be dressed up or dress down. For a work winter look, the coat can be worn draped on your shoulders over a tailored suit. To prepare for those cold nights during this party season, the below-the-knee styles matches perfectly with a statement dress.
With options today including a variety of pretty pastels, statement vivid colors or timeless classics, you will be able to find a teddy bear coat to go with anything and everything.

The beauty industry have made leaps and bounds in technologies for skincare. Facial peels, microdermabrasion and light therapy are all go-to treatments for many beauty junkies. But sometimes, you just got to listen to your momma and use tried and true methods of skincare.
As we know, crystals have been having a bit of a moment in spiritual and wellness circles. Gwyneth Paltrow, Miranda Kerr, Victoria Beckham have all been known to be advocators of crystals. Crystal use in beauty is nothing new, Jade face rollers have been recorded all the way back to seventh century China rumoured to have been favoured by royalty.
So why is everyone so obsessed with them and what are they supposed to do?
The action of face rollers are known to reduce puffiness through the promotion of lymphatic drainage, as well as smoothing fine lines and wrinkles. Increased blood circulation leads to your skin releasing toxins, improving your skins’ brightness. Through all this, regular use of crystal face rollers can improve skin tone and elasticity also.
Your crystal face rollers are best used with your serums or face oils. Remember to massage in an upwards direction following the contours of your face, under eyes and neck. You can gently warm up your roller by placing it in warm water or for extra de-puffing (and tightened pores) action, keep your roller in the fridge for a cooling effect.
There are many different types of crystals used as face rollers. Most popular are jade and rose quartz rollers but there are also options made from amethyst and opalite.
Happy Wednesday!
Popping in to quickly tell you about Virgin Hair Depot’s 613c collection!
As many of you know, about a year ago, I traded in my signature blonde Locs, for red Locs before I cut it all off and started to dip my toe into the world of hair (see the YouTube video here). Blonde is my ‘thing’…but finding great wigs that were thick, great quality, didn’t shed, and had movement was difficult for a long time! I was so happy to find Virgin Hair Depot, whose 613C collection of 100% human hair features all sorts of textures, lengths, and tones.
Since discovering Virgin Hair Depot, I’ve had lots of fun playing with lengths and cuts.
I stand by their quality, and encourage you to check them out (and tell them I sent you!).
See more and shop at VirginHairDepot.com.

Animal print is a huge trend this fall/winter period. Leopard, Snakeskin and Tiger seem to be the top picks at the moment with everyone trying to show their wild side. Another classic animal inspired trend that I have recently noticed to be popping up everywhere, is feathers.
Whether it is feather accessories, delicately added feathers or an all out feather frenzy. Celebrities and fashionistas alike have been loving this look. The use of feathers in any outfit can bring an air of sophistication and glamour to any look, day or night.
How Can You Wear It?
Look 1 – Feathers on Bags: One of the easiest ways to wear feathers is through the use of accessories. Use your feathery bag to dress up any outfit, whether it is a trusted LBD on a night out or a jeans and statement shirt combo for a brunch date with the girls.

Look 2 – Feathery Shoes: Shoes can make or break an outfit. Try your hand at this feather trend by making it all about a statement shoe.

YSL and Steve Madden have also recently been spied with plumage. Think about paring them with simple outfits to really make these babies pop.
Look 3 – A Touch of Feathers: Feathery shoes not quite your thing? Try a simple feather trim or chic burst of feathers. A little or a lot.. it’s your choice.
JLo was seen wearing a plush pink Valentino number in Qatar.
Look 4 – Choosing One Feathered Item: Take it to the next level by selecting one standout item with feathers such as a skirt or a top. Balance out the feathers by wearing it with something more streamline and structured to avoid looking overly puffy.

Who could forget this unforgettable Cardi B Christian Cowan suit in another stunning lilac color. So iconic, it was a Halloween staple this year.
Look 5 – Feather Bomb: This final look is not for the faint hearted and best reserved for an evening event where you want to make an impact. Go OTT in a full blown feather look.
Not once, but twice we saw bride-of-the-moment Priyanka Chopra elegantly pull off feathery looks. First time was at her NYC bridal shower in a stunning Marchesa dress. The second at her bachelorette party in Georges Chakra.

The sleek white-suited Victoria Beckham may have grabbed up the Style Icon award at the E! People’s Choice Awards last night, but it was the less understated pink-haired Nicki Minaj whose looks from the event that have been breaking the internet. The Red Carpet was literally glittering, with Versace clad glamazons, Gaultier goals, Balmain bombshells and more. The Best Dressed are either over-the-top extra, or minimal and classic. We saw many monochromatic, black and white looks, and then there were equally beautiful embellished designs; feathers, embroidery, gold structures and sculpted ruffles. Let’s take a look at who blessed the festivities:

Sorry I’ve been so quiet! I am currently in the midst of writing my 2nd book, which I hope to have available for you at Convos with Claire in New York on December 1st! Which means my deadline is like…tomorrow and I’m nowhere near done. Still, I wanted to pop my head in quickly to tell you why I love being a brand ambassador!
In writing my book, I’ve had to research the nooks and crannies of all things FBD. And while FBD started off as shopping tales about me, then super celebrity focused, then all about a mix of designers and stars, there came a point when I began to use my expertise and knowledge in marketing to come up with campaigns myself.
Some amazing brands I’ve been blessed to work with over the years include Toyota, Virgin Hair Depot, Reebok, Martini & Rossi, and so many more.
Of course I love to create! But I also love to help brands come up with new and inventive ways to reach potential customers!
If you have a brand and would like to work together, email bookclairesulmers@gmail.com!
Smootches!
*I’m also excited to announce that I am launching candles with Intuition LA! I absolutely love candles in my home, so decided to parter with Intuition on a line, just in time for the holidays!
My first scent, Claire No 5, smells of Cedar Wood, Teakwood, Jasmine, and Vanilla.
And my 2nd candle, The Bomb Life, features notes of Rosemary, Water Lily, Vanilla Sandalwood, Pink Sugar, Egyptian Musk, and Mayan musk.
Get your candles here and here.
Y’all don’t seem to like to comment as much as you used to, so here’s a test! Leave a comment telling me why you love FBD! The best comment will win a candle, courtesy of yours truly.
With lots of Love & Light!
