Yesterday marked the 91st Academy Awards in Los Angeles and as always your favorite celebrities came through with their looks for one of the most watched red carpets of the year. This year we saw lots of vivid brights, sparkly embellishments and ruffles. Various shades of pink ruled the carpet, as well as strapless and one-shoulder ensembles appeared to be the pick of the trends. Regina King accepted her Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in an angelic white Oscar de la Renta strapless gown with a thigh high spit.

 

Meagan Good wore a sexy sheer panelled Georges Chakra flowing dress.

One of the most talked about looks has to be Jennifer Lopez sparkling down the red carpet in this one of a kind Tom Ford dress.

 

Amandla Stenberg rocked a Miu Miu dress with draped chain details on the bodice.

 

Lady in red, Jennifer Hudson in a one shoulder, ruffled Elie Saab gown.

 

Angela Bassett was a vision in a bright pink Reem Acra dress.

In the world of fashion, there is no month more important than February this year. This is when the world-famous London, Milan, New York and Paris Fashion Week events take place with all the biggest names in the industry with all the biggest models and designers making their presence felt throughout the world during this special time of the year.

 

Dates

This year, events will kick off with the New York fashion week from the 7th to the 15th of February before jetting over to London for the 15th to the 19th. It is then over to Milan between the 19th and 25th of February and last but certainly not least the Paris fashion week from the 25th of February to the 5th of March. This means that it will be an incredibly busy month in the fashion world and one which will be kept a close eye on by those in the industry, celebrities, bloggers, press, socialites and those with an interest in clothing, models and fashion.

 

Travel

This also means that there is a huge amount of travelling that needs to be done for those involved in the fashion weeks as clothes, models, makeup, the team and other key parts of the operation need to quickly and efficiently travel from country to country. Fortunately for the fashion companies, this is not a huge task as they are able to charter their own private jets which are more than capable of making transport simple, stylish and efficient.

Private jets and the fashion industry have always been closely intertwined and this is for a few reasons. There are the obvious benefits in that it allows companies to transport everything they need and bypass the whole major airline and airport process which can be stressful and time-consuming. This enables fashion companies to get from one runway to another in no time at all. Not only this though, but private jets are the most stylish, luxurious and exclusive form of transportation so it is only right that they are used by fashion luminaries and celebrities who people look up to.

 

Therefore, jet hire is a smart solution for fashion companies this February looking to play an important role in the four huge fashion weeks happening throughout the month. For these fashion companies, this can be a highly stressful and chaotic period so it is important that they have transportation that they can rely on and enjoy.

 

The world eagerly anticipated the New York, London, Milan and Paris fashion weeks this month as these are always amazing events that dazzle and exude style and luxury. Fashion Month has been an eventful one as we witnessed iconic show,  a few scandals, and a huge loss. On a brighter side, the fun part of fashion week is what goes on between the shows: the street style. The Copenhagen-based brand, Saks Potts, has been taking over the streets of these big fashion cities with its immensely popular fur coats which has caught the attention of celebrities such as Kendall Jenner, Cardi B, Jorja Smith, and Slick Woods. One coat in particular has been spotted a few times and seems to be a favorite amongst the fashionistas and fashionistos.

Saks Potts’s “Yvonne” coat comes in a red, orange, and yellow ombré color way adorned with a fox fur trim. Yesterday, I was blessed to be in the building for the 12th Annual Essence Black Women in Hollywood Awards! The ceremony, which recognizes the accomplishments of an esteemed group of black women who have made strides in film and television in the past year, has been going on for 12 years–I’ve been lucky enough to have attended 4.

The star power and energy in the room is real! While most of the afternoon feels like a family reunion, it’s also a moment to shake hands and network with celebs you admire. While there, I said hey to Diddy, Kelly Rowland, Iyanla Vanzant, Meagan Good, and more (duh, and got their outfit deets so that we could post about it on Instagram).

Powerhouses Eva Marcille, Funa Maduka, Yaya DaCosta, Bozoma Saint John, June Ambrose, Bevy Smith, Angela Rye, Luvvie Ayaji, Tai Beauchamp, Jovian Zayne, Valeisha Butterfield-Jones, Cari Champion, and Aisha McShaw were also in attendance.

I actually found out that I was able to join the AT&T table just a couple days before the event, so I was scrambling (and distraught) trying to find something to wear. I ultimately made an easy choice, plucking something from designer Sai Sankoh, which we stock at FashionBombDailyShop.com. I added Versace accessories to make it more ‘red carpet’ vs. ‘resort wear’, then got my twirl on!
