We are always showcasing new designers you can shop at Fashion Bomb Daily Shop! Today, we are highlighting Sybille Guichard, founder and designer behind the shoe brand SybG:
Haitian American Sybille Guichard’s story is definitely an inspiring one, as she has learned to overcome unimaginable obstacles before launching her shoe brand. Born in Miami, Sybille spent most of her youth in Miramar which rests on the county line between Miami-Dade county and Broward county. She later graduated from Broward College where she received her Associate’s Degree. In an attempt to continue her education, Sybille was met with complications from her ongoing battle with Crohn’s Disease (a disease that causes inflammation of your digestive tract, which can lead to abdominal pain, severe diarrhea, fatigue, weight loss and malnutrition) , which involved frequent visits to the hospital.
Sybille went out to start a non-profit for the disease and even opened her own nutrition center in 2019. Unfortunately, the center was forced to close three days after its grand opening as she was hospitalized for three months. Her time in the hospital allowed time to focus and lay out her goals, essentially helping her to establish SybG:
Sybille describes how she spent her time in her hospital bed building her brand, “I laid in my hospital bed my cousin bought me a sketch book. I drew so many different things, but shoes was the main inspiration. I started drawing as if SybG was a real brand. On my days I felt ok enough to be on my phone, I would search the web for information on how to produce a shoe from scratch. Before you know it, I was writing my manufacturer and they said they can make my shoe. By the time I got out the hospital, I had my first sample in production and on its way to my house…To know that I created something during a time that was so hard and scary for me, I made my dream a reality.“
When describing the brand, she narrows it down to two words: purpose and confidence. Heels already give off the utmost confidence, but she builds on the purpose aspect by including the Crohn’s Disease awareness ribbon on every pair of heels with a percentage of proceeds going to C.A.R.E. for Crohn’s Foundation. She further adds, “I want everyone who puts on a pair of SybG’s to know that they have purpose and they are confident, beautiful and sexy no matter what!“
Since the brand just launched this year in January, Sybille has been utilizing influencers for brand exposure which led her to her biggest lesson in business: “Be careful when sending influencers free product because they can take your stuff and never post or tag you. Make sure whatever agreement you have with them is clear, say what you want because they will take that “gift” and keep it pushing.”
Sybille has big goals and plans for SybG as she hopes to take it to a global level! She expresses, “I want my shoes in department stores, boutiques, and even on the red carpet because SybG is for everybody. If you got some swag, then you can wear it.“
In closing, Sybille Guichard praises Fashion Bomb Daily as “an amazing platform for creatives and fashionistas/fashionistos” and expresses her excitement to join the Fashion Bomb Daily Shop family. She also leaves future business owners with some advice: “Have faith. God will always guide you. And have confidence, people are attracted to confidence. If you believe in your vision, then act like it. Self doubt is not allowed, that’s just background noise.“

Happy Thursday! Every Thursday, we highlight the style evolution of a celebrity whose looks has been known to capture the attention the industry. Today, we are honoring Kylie Jenner and her style evolution throughout the 2000s:
Kylie has been a regular to red carpets and the spotlight since 2007, with the premiere of Keeping Up With The Kardashians. Being the youngest of six sibling, and 10 years old at the time, her early style is what every other pre-teen at the time would be wearing. As she grew older, her sisters’ influence (specially Kim Kardashian) to her style and aesthetic became clearer.
As she turned into a young woman, she took a more edgy and sexy approach to her wardrobe. Figure hugging pieces, slits and cleavages entered the scene. She also started experimenting more with her hair colors and styles, being perhaps the Kardashian-Jenner sister that plays more in that aspect.
Now let’s get to the 2016-2020 part of Kylie Jenner’s style evolution! Being a mom and a beauty mogul, Kylie Jenner’s style is still in construction, but certainly leaning on the sexy and modern side.
Still influenced by her sister’s tastes, she dabbles in designer labels more these days. #Versace, #Balmain and #AlexanderWang are among her favorites.

Last night, we witnessed the second day of the Democratic National Convention where Kerry Washington and Kamal Harris delivered their highly-anticipated speeches for the evening.
With the theme of “A More Perfect Union” in place for the convention, Kerry Washington hosted the second night of the convention where she delivered a moving speech in an Alexandre Vauthier pin-stripe double breasted suit, highlighting the struggles of women and the Black community to be apart the Union.
Moreover, Kamala Harris also appeared at the Democratic National Convention in an eye-catching wine double-breasted suit paired with a Irene Neuwirth pearl necklace. She delivered a rousing speech which posed as an acceptance for her nomination as Vice President, making her the first Black woman and South asian woman to be on a major party’s presidential ticket!

In recent weeks and months, we have noticed a surge of women in hip hop rocking coveted Hermes Birkin Bags (as the City Girls rapped in their famous song Act Up, “Real ass b*tch, give a f*ck ’bout a n*gga/ Big Birkin bag, hold five, six figures“).
As we wrote here, “Birkins range in price from $12,000 to more than $200,000. Exotic skins command a higher price (approx $95,500). Birkins are also covetable because they are not only extremely expensive, but also hard to get. They are reserved for an exclusive group of people (namely those who are longtime customers of the brand). And lastly, with the base price at $12,000, you generally have to be in a certain wealth bracket to afford them.”
Comments on posts about women like Dreamdoll, above, reek of skepticism and judgment. @ShayNeverGetOld Wrote “Hope they all own house[s] and properties walking around with $30,000 bags.” @_SimplyFe_ added, “These girls flaunting birkins like it’s coach… Im convinced I need to that a closer look & do the sniff test 🤔”
While there are many naysayers, and those not only questioning these ladies’ ability to afford to bags but also the bag’s authenticity, there are others who see nothing wrong with it. On a post about a custom Birkin bag Cardi B gifted to Megan the Stallion, @The.Danie wrote, “It seems like y’all only wanna say these brands lose value once black folks start being able to afford them. How y’all tired of seeing Hermès bags now that more black girls are starting to have the funds to acquire them? Some of the biggest haters I swear #BlackGirlsDeserveBirkins.”
We definitely agree with The Danie! Young women of color are making major moves these days, and bringing in more than enough bank to buy Birkins– real ones.
Also the idea of black women ‘cheapening a brand’ intrinsically intimates that black women hold inferior value–enough to reduce the value of a “superior” brand. That couldn’t be further from the truth. Nothing is inferior about black women or women in hip hop, as they are some of the greatest purveyors and consumers of luxury goods (Hermes should be thanking them for all the extra Birkins they will sell this year).
Times have changed, and it’s way past time for us to start getting used to seeing more than a handful of women of color (and some men) having the disposable income to comfortably afford a $12,000 bag.
We should be celebrating their accomplishments, not questioning their spending habits or sniffing the leather to spot a fake.
And if you’re worried about their ability to maintain, rest assured Birkins are assets and can be sold at a hefty price on the resale market.
Travis Scott and Kylie Jenner shared adorable pictures of their baby girl Stormi Webster as she played on the beach during a family vacation! Stormi was joined by her cousin and Khloe Kardashian‘s daughter, True Thompson. The two were spotted frolicking through the beach’s shore in cute dresses!
