American designer Tommy Hilfiger sold his home in Greenwich, Connecticut before making his big move to Palm Beach, Florida. According to sources, the 22-acre estate sold for $45 million!
Tommy Hilfiger and his second wife, Dee Ocleppo, bought the Connecticut home back in 2010 for $31 million and it has been their place of residence ever since. The French-style home is definitely a sight to see with its profound greenery and cottage-like feels. The estate is complete with six bedrooms, a swimming pool, guesthouse, and of course, elaborate gardens. It is no wonder there were a few buyers that had their eye on this property. In fact, the original listing for the home was for $47.5 million but one lucky buyer walked away with it for $45 million.
Currently, Tommy Hilfiger and his wife have their eyes set on Palm Beach, Florida as they are currently searching for their next home there. As Hilfiger continues on this next journey in his life, let’s get into some fashion moments the designer has provided over the years:
‘It girl’ Lori Harvey smiled from ear to ear as she posed with her beux Michael B Jordan rocking With Jean’s $239 Andy dress in forest green. Available in an array of colors such as ‘Maple’, ‘Violet’ and ‘Latte’ this ruched, long sleeved mini dress is perfect for a classy date night.
Lori’s hair was in a sleek top ponytail showcasing the collared neck line, and paired this dress with small hoop earrings and gold stack rings.
How would you rock this dress? Which color would you choose?
The 2016 election result had a traumatic effect on his psyche and as a Black creative in America, he started to feel hopeless as the country declined. Liberties were encroached upon and violence and race relations worsened. He was forced to retreat inwards for a perspective that would help him make sense of the current climate. This journey led him to his African ancestors; their struggles, their survival, their protests.
The African printed fabrics cut on bias and cowrie shells were tattooed on top of tailored wool coats.
The edges of the wool coats’ hemlines were left raw or painted white.
The Nylon puffer technical coat was hand painted abstractly.
Safety pins, which have become a symbol for the protestation of authority, were used to create texture with African printed fabric.
Shirley Chisholm and Kamala Harris on the backs of two of the outerwear pieces allude to hope and change.
The collection exudes his ancestors’ strength, courage, resilience, and most of all their power.

Born in paradise, in the “Land of Wood and Water,” Jamaica, Allan Virgo was introduced to the world of fashion very early on. His journey began among the heaps and mounds of fabric and patterns in his mother’s seamstress and dressmaking business. By the tender age of seven, Allan was already well versed in the art of garment making and construction. Under his mother’s tutelage, he developed and mastered the skill of making beautiful clothes, while understanding the importance of constant innovation and a strong work ethic.
After completing high school in Jamaica, Allan moved to New York where he attended the prestigious Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT). Here he received an Associate Degree in Fashion Design, then a Bachelor of Science in International Trade and Marketing. He began his robust design career by playing an integral role on design teams such as Baby Phat by Kimora Lee Simmons, Guess, Michael Kors, Kenneth Cole and Macy’s.
In 2010 through 2013 Allan Virgo returned to his native Jamaica to introduce his Spring/Summer collections at Jamaica StyleWeek. With an eccentric and unpredictable flair, Allan garnered critical acclaim and stellar reviews in the Jamaica Gleaner, Jamaican Observer, Fashion Bomb Daily Style Magazine, and was featured in Vogue Italia, and British Vogue. After a successful debut and with many years of experience, he decided it was time to launch his self-titled outerwear brand, based in New York. His philosophy can be encapsulated by a commitment to innovative design, craftsmanship, functionality, and quality that are influenced by the American culture around him and his Jamaican roots. Though it is entitled simply, “Allan Virgo,” his brand is anything but simple; he is known to challenge the aesthetic of typical ready-to-wear outerwear. The fame of the Allan Virgo brand is burgeoning amongst fashion’s elite buyers such as international retailer GILT Japan. Allan’s greatest hope for the future is to continue to challenge the norm by blurring the lines of his own artistic expression and wearable fashion while continuing to inspire others through his work.
The fast fashion retailer created their version of her $229 Veronique blouse (that debuted during her groundbreaking virtual show Pink Label Congo) for only $55. She took to Twitter to write, “I normally don’t speak on these things, however Pretty Little Nothing is Trash for this.”
Fast Fashion is known for creating the more budget friendly version of high end looks, from behemoth designers like Chloe to self funded operations like Hanifa. And while many are able to turn the other cheek when they score a dupe of a $700 boot for only $60 at Zara, it hits differently for designers who are making it happen on their own.
It’s not right, and it’s not ok, but sadly there is little recourse for designers, nor laws to protect them, as everything in fashion is about inspiration, and offering unique twists on established silhouettes.
As some said in our comments, Hanifa loyalists (myself included) will always go to the source, and never to the watered down version.

Layle (just like Gail with an L) Gregory launched ShopFASHIONny.com on June 15th 2020, amidst Covid 19. However for Layle (like so many others), launching a business or really pursuing the journey of being an entrepreneur started way before Covid 19.
As the owner of a Property Management/Commercial Cleaning Company, a vending business and now an online store she understands hard work and ESPECIALLY understands being busy. Launching Shop Fashion was an opportunity to dress women who are similarly extremely busy, have active lifestyles, and love every bit of their lives.
There is something empowering about getting her child(ren) ready for school (even online school), working out, updating her website, having an meeting with her assistant, checking in with clients (staff or co-workers), working on her business, running errands and occasionally meeting up with friends for brunch or drinks and maybe going out on a date or two. What’s even more empowering is wearing a Great Shoe and Amazing Outfit while doing so many things every day.
This is what Shop Fashion and Style is all about, dressing the busy woman in a beautiful and stylish way for everything she does and everywhere she wants to be or needs to be.
In another episode of copying designs in the fashion world, Serbian singer and media personality Jelena Karleusa and designer LaQuan Smith are the topic of the latest incident.
It started with LaQuan Smith sharing a recent Instagram post featuring Kim Kardashian in his Spring/Summer 2021 leather jumpsuit, bustier and motor pants while promoting her latest KKW Fragrance campaign.
Jelena Karleusa then proceeded to create a post showing a side-by-side photo of her and Kim Kardashian wearing similar looks. Jelene’s blue look was worn and designed by her for a performance back in October of 2020. She claims the look was developed 5 months prior to her performance and the bodysuit is three years old. The singer stated in a caption, “At least give me some credit or ask me to work with you! Many world celebrities and designers literally STEAL everything I do without permission.“
LaQuan Smith stepped in to address the matter and brought some receipts along with him. In an Instagram post, Smith showed sketches and fittings of the SS21 designs dating back to May of 2020 which is five months prior to Karleusa’s performance. He shared his thoughts: “I’m disappointed that you would discredit me and my design process. I wholeheartedly stand by originality, great quality and craftsmanship. I promise you, no one is checking for you.“
The two seemed to be cordial prior to this social media fallout. Jelena Karleusa has even worn LaQuan Smith’s designs back in 2017. Smith even reposted the look on Instagram.
Now, a third party has entered the chat to say she did it first! Serbian folk singer Radmila “Rada” Manojlovic took to the social media platform to share her pink look in a similar design to LaQuan Smith and Jelena Karleusa’s. Manojlovic’s look was from 2017 and worn during her appearance on the AMIG Show.
With so many of these instances occuring, this poses the question: When does it become inspiration over time vs. blatant copying? Thoughts on this situation?

It’s no doubt this year has been a tough one, so why not treat yourself to a little bling as you say goodbye to 2020 (and those rundown sweatpants)?

After trending on social media platforms, Lori Harvey continued to be the talk of the week as she stunned with her birthday look. Yesterday, the media personality and fashionista celebrated her 24th birthday with a designer look we absolutely loved!
Lori Harvey posed for her birthday shoot in a vintage Vivienne Westwood corset and orb earrings from Pechuga Vintage along with the designer label’s three-strand pearl orb necklace from NN Officiel Vintage. She completed the look with leggings from Katie Gallagher. Glam included Lorenzo Calderon on the hair and Haley Andrews for makeup.
Lori’s Vivienne Westwood corset is from the designer’s Gold Label from Spring/Summer 2006. A fun fact about the corset is that it was created out of men’s suiting fabric and features a feminine twist of mixed animal prints.
What a glamorous shoot and we wish Lori Harvey a happy birthday!
