Accredited as “fashion’s biggest night out,” the Met Gala is a fundraising benefit for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. Celebrities, political figures, and creatives in every sense of the word, attend this glamorous event dressed to fit the theme of the night. This year’s theme, “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion,” similar to every theme, is greatly up for interpretation based on the designer and the invitee. 

Each year, the Met Gala teaches us that fashion is up to us; we have every right to be creative and wear what we feel fits best. Though it might be easiest to start your style journey at home, you should not be afraid to branch out in other elements of your life. Generally speaking, we do not categorize our work place whether it be at home or in an office, as the epitome of expression. Two celebrities and one pair of Versace platform heels! Bebe Rexha and Beyoncé were spied in the same pink platform heels by Italian brand Versace.

Known as the “Medusa Aevitas” platform sandals, the undeniably chic shoe hails from Versace’s Fall 2021 collection as seen on model Bella Hadid in the brand’s runway show. The $1,295 Barbie doll-like shoe rests of a raised platform in a dazzling pink satin material complete with an embellished adjustable ankle strap. Rounding off the shoe, Versace’s Medusa head appears as a dangling pendant on the ankle strap as well as on the bottom on the shoe itself. As an eye-catching piece, it definitely caught the attention of celebrities Bebe Rexha and Beyoncé.

Bebe Rexha was spied out in Santa Monica attending a birthday dinner with her friends at Giorgio Baldi. For her dinner ensemble, she wore what appears to be the $895 Versace black sweetheart-neckline bodysuit and ruffled buttoned mini skirt. She finished the look with the $1,295 Versace pink satin platforms. The music artist also wore gold jewelry pieces to accompany the look.

Beyoncé attended her husband’s 40/40 Club anniversary celebration wearing a full Versace look including the pink platform sandals, styled by KJ Moody. Rappers Fat Joe and JaRule recently took the stage as the most recent pairing for Verzuz TV. The two were joined by other familiar faces such as Nelly, Jadakiss, and Remy Ma to name a few. Amongst the night’s epic appearances, Ashanti also graced the stage with both JaRule and Fat Joe in a bomb all-black look.

Ashanti appeared at the latest Verzuz battle between Fat Joe and JaRule wearing an $5,490 Alexander McQueen black leather peplum jacket. She paired the look with a pair of stunning lace and PVC over-the-knee boots by Jennifer Le, priced at $449. Erica Mena wore Fashion Nova’s $59.99 No One Like Me Jogger Set in heather grey. The set includes a crop top and jogger which takes an unconventional design turn. The crop top appears sleeveless with a bandeau-style lining under a mesh overlay. The jogger pants include an obvious mesh thong panty which peaks out at the waistline, with the jogger presenting itself in its typical nature with an elastic waistline and cuffed ankles.

Hanging wall arts may sound like the most straightforward task, but it can prove tricky. It requires careful attention and placement, especially when dealing with large framed wall arts. 

You want to ensure the sides are balanced and none is tilted away from the other. Instead of staring at a blank wall when you know not what to do, go through the guide below for tips and procedures for placing your large framed wall arts in the proper position.

Placing Wall Art Symmetrically on The Wall

If you have some wall arts with similar sizes, shapes, and forms, it is best to place them symmetrically to each other. This arrangement is much easier to fix than the asymmetric setting, although you still need to follow the necessary tips.

Make sure the spacing between the wall arts is the same. 2 inches is ideal for tight spacing, and 5 inches is suitable for average spacing. You can use a metric ruler to ensure the inches’ differences are perfect.

If you are hanging an uneven number of frames, e.g., three shelves on the wall, it is best to place them vertically. You can set the three on the same row, place two sides by the side, and place the last one beneath them, but in between.

To confirm the space between each frame is balanced, you can measure with your finger.

Placing Wall Arts Asymmetrically on The Wall

The asymmetrical arrangement is for wall prints with various sizes but similar themes. Despite the controversial sizes or shapes, ensure there is a common thing between the asymmetric wall arts. It could be the color scheme or subject matter. Hence, this will ensure they are organically balanced.

Place the two wall arts slightly lower and higher than each other so that both will not be at the exact top level. More so, you can arrange a mixture of larger and smaller pieces in ascending or descending order.

You can draw your imaginary lines before placing the arts on the wall. This will make it more balanced, by preventing an overweight on one side and underweight on the other. 

Hanging wall arts with large frames properly might require the best hardware, and they include:

1. Wall Anchor

Wall anchors are plastic and nylon materials where you can drill a hole to place your screw. Then, fix the anchor on the wall after making a hole. Gently place the wall art on the anchor and use the screw to tighten it against the wall.

2. Toggle Bolt

The toggle bolt is similar to a wall anchor and perfect for heavy wall art. Although it comes with a wing that spreads against the wall, it will come off after installation.

3. Picture Hanger

A picture hanger is the most common hardware among others. All you need is a small hammer to fix the nail and metal hook. However, each hanger has a weight limit, which is usually on the packaging material.

Conclusion

You would know you have placed your wall art right if the center of the piece meets eye level. Arrange them in a whole square for multiple wall arts and make the center your focal point. However, it is a different case for the dining area, as it must be slightly lower than the eye level. This will meet your eye while sitting down.
