NYFW Recap: 7 Trends as seen at LaQuan Smith, Sergio Hudson, Prabal Gurung, Telfar and More

For Fall/Winter 2022, runways all around the Big Apple were decked out in latest styles by the hottest designers. As always, Fashion Bomb Daily attended several shows by the most coveted designs yet – here is our roundup of trend highlights from Christian Siriano, Victor Glemaud, LaQuan Smith, Sergio Hudson, Prabal Gurung, Telfar, Bronx and Banco, The Blonds and Claudia Li!

1. Glitz Is In

Here come the sequins, and just like last season, they’re here to stay! Maximalism in full effect, sequins are appropriate for just about any occasion now. Go big, or go home!

2. Just Fur Fun

This season has proven that there are so many different ways to do fur – so long as you’re doing it boldly, you’re bound to ascend into the high fashion ranks!

3. Feathers Galore

Who doesn’t live for a feather trim in 2022? Serving opulence and extravagance, feathers were all over the catwalks and we are certainly not mad at it!

4. Highlighter Hues

What better way to highlight your style than to dress in full neon? Telfar, Sergio Hudson, Prabal Gurung and Bronx and Banco showed us just how throughout each of their vibrant collections.

5. Monochromatic Patterns

Print on print on print is the new way to do monochrome. Sergio Hudson, Claudia Li, Christian Siriano and Prabal Gurung did the all pattern everything looks justice this fashion week.

6. Metallic Mentality

Another repeat from previous seasons, we love a flashy metallic moment especially when done by The Blonds, Laquan Smith or Bronx and Banco.

There is no doubt that Rihanna has been slaying her pregnancy looks recently! Mss. Fenty was spotted in Los Angeles for Superbowl festivities in a $2,990 Balenciaga fur trimmed jacket and a $650 soccer hooded scarf by the brand.

Her jacket boasts tones of navy blue/sun yellow, along with a classic hood and front zip fastening.

Her sport jersey has a hood without strings and attached sleeves.

She anchored the outfit with a pair of $2,000 Margiela gray jeans.

To completed the look with Attico white pumps and a Jet Pack Homme vintage tulle shirt.

She paired the gown with a furry, white stole from Abdul Sall Couture. She completed the elegant look with a pair of Dolce Gabbana pumps.

Kendrick Lamar wears Virgil Abloh’s x Louis Vuitton FW22 Suit and Tiffany & Co. Jewelry For Superbowl Halftime Performance

We have to admit the Superbowl LVl was an amazing match between the Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals. We must give a standing ovation for halftime performances that took place, along with the looks the performers took pride in. Let’s get into Kendrick Lamar‘s look:

Kendrick Lamar had a very powerful meaning behind his ensemble he wore for his performance for the halftime show. The sophisticated, black toned suit was a Virgil Abloh x Louis Vuitton collaboration. This was the designers final collection.

You can see the blazer is fitted and featured with broad shoulder pads. Pairing the blazer with perfectly tailored trousers, the trousers has a split near the ankle and gives the pants a tender blaze look.

To complete the upscale look, Lamar sets the look with Tiffany & Co. Jewelry. The posh gems were draped on the left side of his chest. He also had on a diamond necklace that hung from his neck.

This look was styled by Taylor McNeill.

I wanted to show the full gamut of who I am as a designer.” The brand’s co-creator Charles Lynch added, “The inspiration was inspired by the African Mbele tribe and their jewelry. We wanted to bring that story to how we live in Beverly Hills. So it’s like Africa meets Beverly Hills. What would Cher from Clueless wear on Safari?”
