Women’s Wear Daily reports that Naomi Campbell has been tapped to appear in designer Dennis Basso’s fall ad campaign:
According to the article, “The pair met when Campbell dropped by his Madison Avenue store opening six years ago, and were reacquainted this past winter. Basso lined up lensman Tom Munro, stylist Patti Wilson and creative director Giovanni Bianco for the shoot.” Sounds like perfect material for a future Snapshot!
Eva Marcille looked positively stuntastic at the Essence Music Festival:
She paired an easy summer strapless black romper with a chunky gold necklace and a simple black and gold belt.

The holiday weekend seems to have jump-started the season, what with the fashionable making their splashiest appearances so far this summer!
Diddy’s famed annual White Party moved to L.A., and with him went much of the star power. The multi-hyphenate mogul and singer-actor Tyrese struck a casual pose on the white carpet, both men opting for crisp button-down shirts, slacks, and kicks. Diddy flavors his look with statement sunglasses, while Tyrese opts for a diamond rosary and rolled cuffs. Diddy’s the picture of a stylish, relaxed host and while I’m not a huge fan of the high-waters, Tyrese manages to add a little hip-hop edge to what’s usually a difficult dress code for many guys. Nicely done for both gents!
Bombshell Amber Rose sported a sexy take on all-white with form-fitting jeans and a cropped halter top decked in artfully draped panels. Smartly, she lets her golden skin and simple diamond studs stand as her only accessories, as the top alone makes enough of a statement for the entire ensemble. Quite a hawt look for Ms. Rose.
Teyana Taylor sticks to her tomboy roots and pulls off this straight leg slacks-leather jacket combo with plucky aplomb. White Wayfarers and Chuck Taylors round out the look nicely, and Teyana’s rosy makeup, tumble of curls, and fitted tank top give it a sweet feminine touch. Very cute and true-to-her-style look for TT!
The Cannons also breezed through en tout blanc, Mimi in her preferred floor-length silhouette and Nick in a dapper suit. While there’s nothing outwardly amiss and they’re a nice looking couple, they’re both still too young to be so staid in their clothing preferences. I’d like to see them shake it up a little from time to time, Hmm…
Those who didn’t make it to Diddy’s in L.A. were cooling their heels at the Essence Festival in New Orleans, though with the amount of partying some of my Tweeples reported, I doubt anyone’s heels were fully cool all weekend. Bomb celebs Sanaa Lathan and Gabrielle Union were among those letting their hair down, and looking great while doing so! Sanaa opts for a flower-print, scoop-neck wrap dress with kimono sleeves and gold sandals, while Gabby shows off her new bangs in a body hugging one-shoulder sheath. Both ladies look Hot yet cool as a fan amid the sweltering Nola heat…
Choreographer Laurie Ann Gibson‘s colorful leggings/jersey/pumps combo is random and a bit disappointing for someone of her stature in the biz. With such a great dancer’s body, it’d have been nice to see her in something more sophisticated and less like a “Making the Band” audition outfit, Hmm…
Also at Essence, trendsetter Solange showed off her gams in eye-catching black and white leggings paired with a cropped tuxedo jacket. The neon pops of color in her accessories blend perfectly, and she glams it up a bit with glittery shades and a classic Chanel bag. I’m diggin’ it: it’s the perfect combo of edgy, fun, and chic–very Solange. Hot!
Swagger is back in Paris, bringing us the best Street Style photos from the city of lights. Today we have Nelly, a Balenciaga City Bag carrying sista spotted in the Bastille:
Nelly takes it back to the 90’s in combat boots and a self made floral dress, but then represents ’09 with an edgy Diesel jean jacket and sick accessories.
I could do without the stockings in the summer (a hot Parisian trend), but I like her look and her bag is the business!
Adding some design details to the classic high top sneaker, Crews played with laces and colors, spray painting some with white and green and affixing gold chains to others. Would you rock these?
Next, pop art king Jeremy Scott created his new Floral Flight Travel Bag for his annual collaboration with Longchamp Paris:
The bag, covered in roses and airplanes, is $345 and available at www.longchamp.com. Way to make a travel statement!
Would you rock ’em?
Pop princess Britney Spears recently released a video for one of her hottest singles, Radar:
Say what you want about Britney, the girl knows how to make a hit! Radar is one of my faves from her Blackout Album. The video is kinda ‘eh’ but the song bumps.
You can always count on Fredflare.com for something very cute without breaking the bank! This $49 Ruffled Keri Mini Dress is totally perfect for a 4th of July barbeque!
A little advice: don’t go with red shoes–you don’t want to wind up looking like Dorothy sans Toto. Pair with red nails and a white loafer like the ones below:
