Ready for the 2nd contestant for our Bombshell makeover with Noel New York?

The Southern California transplant says, “I’m a Substation Operator for a utility company. I just graduated from my operator class of 40 weeks of training and as you can see I’m around men all day and night.”

“Since I work rotating shifts, which is about 60 hours a week and work outside I have started to let myself go, because I always wear a uniform, and always at work so I never give time to really dress myself anymore.”

“I have a short haircut, but can barely manage it 24 hours after its done, and I’m always wearing hats.”

“I love fashion, trends and what to wear articles you publish, and I love seeing the urban/culture of the fashion industry on your blog is what draws me to to your website. I’m always fantasizing on how I could look, but I spend so much time at work, and tired I just close my computer and go back to reality.”

“I think this makeover would help me out on how to manage my look while not at work, make me feel confident and get my girly self back despite me being around testosterone all day!! Please give me the chance of getting this makeover!!”

I see lots of fabulous potential here, folks! What do you think of Brittney’s submission?

Claire’s Life: The Fashion Bomb x Covergirl by Derek Blanks for Essence Magazine April 2012

Pick up Essence Magazine’s April 2012 issue to see my very first Covergirl ad:

Squeal!!!!!
I snuck a peek at the ad in the airport as I was coming home from France, and couldn’t help but yelp (I’m sure everyone around thought I was a nut). I mean, who doesn’t want to be a Covergirl?

While Covergirl Blast FlipStick transformed my look from bookworm to Bombshell, Karen of WhereDidUGetThat.com went from sophisticated to superstar. I love how everything turned out:

Catch behind-the-scenes videos at www.essence.com/alterego starting this Thursday March 15th.
Reminisce on the experience with me with some personal shots in this archived post.

I still can’t believe this is real…! Thanks for always reading and for your support!

” With that being said my style at this phase of my life is called “party rock” !”

“I am a curvy girl but I am not afraid of prints, patterns and color.”

” It would be an honor to be featured again.”

Rock on, Chimee! My favorite look might have to be your white jumpsuit. Simple, yet sassy!
If you don’t remember Chimee’s first go around, reminisce here.

Claire’s Life: The Kanye West Fall 2012 Show Afterparty

Happy Almost End of Fashion Month!
If you were following my tweets yesterday, you’d know I was on the front lines, giving you the blow-by-blow for Kanye’s Fall 2012 Fashion Show. Afterwards, I dipped into the after party, which was chock full of celebs.

I said hey to Big Sean, who performed “Marvin Gay & Chardonnay,” “Dance (A$$)”, and other hits. He was rocking a luxurious fur hood that I couldn’t help but pet. I sidled up to Jourdan Dunn, who walked in the show. I asked her about how painful the shoes were, and she said, “They were actually ok! They fixed them!” Common was in the house, beaming in the red lights. As was cutie Kim Kardashian, who was rocking all DW by Kanye West Spring 2012. And on my way out, I ran into designer Alexander Wang. Yes, I had my IPad with me…had to give y’all first look at the show! There were tons of other fashionable people in the building, including Cassie, Diddy, Alicia Keys, Swizz Beatz, Azealia Banks, and Waka Flocka Flame, who performed (to my delight!).

It was a fun end to fashion week! I have about 3 shows left on my plate, and am then taping a segment for a Swiss TV show called State of Style. Should be interesting…I’ll let y’all know when the videos are on Youtube, so you can see.
Smootches!

*I’m wearing a Kid Cudi x Surface to Air jacket over an LBD from Zara. MAC Ruby Woo Lipstick. Bling Hoops from Shop Luveys.
