I first spotted Lisa Dawn after running across an article written by the Houston Press. After the first few paragraphs, I was already addicted. It turns out this corporate lawyer (turned fashion blogger) simply wanted to produce a creative outlet in contrast to her conservative and stern profession. Of course, you may be thinking, “Okay Esmesha – what makes her any different from the other featured bloggers?” Well, in my opinion, this new face certainly has a knack for clean yet elegant looks – she’s an inspiration for those women who feel fashion does not fit into their everyday lives. Despite questionable and negative responses to the founding of her blog, Lisa is living proof that following personal dreams are just as relevant as chasing professional endeavors.
Lisa’s style is filled with goodies from J. Crew, Valentino and Giuseppe Zanotti but her true appeal lies in her exceptional ability to make any (and everything) look polished. In addition to her impressive Chanel collection and that blazing red hair, she has managed to garner the attention of blog lovers everywhere. If I had to categorize Lisa’s style, I’d call it “chic simplicity”. I adore the fact that she embraces color while consistently exuding the utmost confidence in each of her ensembles. From her excellent pattern play to those high-coveted, red Aminah Abdul Jillil bow pumps, this fashionista injects statement pieces into her wardrobe arsenal to keep her looks fresh and fun.
I believe it’s clear that Lisa of A Chic Effect is worthy of Bomb Blogger status. Not only is she successful and ambitious, but she also knows a thing or two about what looks good. The girl is on fire! With posts full of optimism and a positive energy, I don’t see why she shouldn’t be featured. The beautiful up-and-comer possesses a natural sophistication and I’m sure her style evolution will continue to draw followers from all walks of life. So (with that) I salute you, Lisa.

Happy Tuesday!
So I’m still in ATL, and have been kicking it with my blogging homegirl Marie Denee of the Curvy Fashionista.
I invited her over to my parent’s house for dinner, and fell in love with her Own Something Exclusive maxi skirt:
A quick click over to their site, and voila: a short selection of fabulous tops, dresses, and skirts, cast in bold colors and African prints:
The lovely Kerry Washington was spotted this weekend at Twitter’s #TGIT event wearing a breathtaking $3,970 Mary Katrantzou Metallic Jacquard Animal Print dress. The actress, literally, shimmered in the eye-catching piece while pairing her elegant look with white pumps and a matching clutch.
Although I couldn’t find Kerry’s exact dress, I did find the sleeveless edition on Net-A-Porter. The dress boasts a full pleated skirt with a gorgeous sky blue, bronze and gold palette.
I absolutely love this! I’ve been a fan of Mary Katrantzou for a while and it’s always a treat to see her designs out and about.
Are you ready to make the splurge? Head on over to Net-A-Porter for ordering information.

*Kerry was also papped emerging from her midtown Manhattan hotel last night in a lip print top and skirt by Stella McCarntey:
Today’s Bombshell is Nikki from the City of Angels!
The Nigerian fashionista says, “I am passionate about life.”
” I’m a nomadic soul eternally in pursuit of happiness.”

Happy Sunday!
I’m here in Atlanta, recovering from a whirlwind weekend at the BET Hip Hop Awards!
As I mentioned here, it was my first awards show, and I was super juiced to cover the Red Carpet for Fashion Bomb Daily!
While I thought I’d get to ask everyone a litany of questions, the reality was: There were a lot of outlets there, so we all had to compete for interviews. I was standing close to MTV News and Bossip, and most celebs would speak to them then skip over little ol me. LOL.
So I decided to get whatever videos I could…
And take selfies/pix if nothing else:
It worked out well!
At any rate, I asked most people who they were wearing (at least), so here’s a quick rundown:
106 & Park’s very own Shad Moss looked dapper in a custom black on black creation, topped off by red Givenchy sneakers.
A resounding ‘Yasssss‘ goes to Wendy Raquel Robinson, who had one of the best looks of the evening in a House of Chapple ensemble. I might have to scoop this up before I head back to NYC. Hot!
At any rate, it was fun, but working the red carpet is WERK. Getting all those ids is no joke!
But it was a great training ground, and now I’m ready to tackle my next carpet!
Until then, see more pictures in our Gallery, and shop a few looks in our BET Hip Hop Awards shop.
Who do you think was best dressed?

*The BET Hip Hop Awards air Tuesday October 14th at 8pm.
*Many thanks to the kind folks at BET and Harmelin for having me! Let’s hope the BET awards are next;)
