Hey all! We’re here at the start of a brand new week, and celebs were out and about. From movie premieres to charity events, we’ve got the rundown on who wore what on Instagram. There were standouts, and some not-so-stellar looks. Let’s take a look at the Hots and the Nots.
First up is gorgeous actress Zoe Saldana, who was snapped by photogs at the Infinitely Polar Bear premiere. She kept things interesting in an asymmetric printed Louis Vuitton dress from the house’s cruise collection. She’s been very aware of the shapes that are working for her body since having her twins, and this choice was no different. Though the looks seemed a bit autumnal for me, she still worked it.
Angela Simmons is always on the go. The mogul in the making strutted her stuff while being snapped after attending a movie premiere in NYC. She joined in on the party of prints while rocking a black and white number by PatBo and $395 Schutz ‘Karlyanna’ mesh open toe boots. The shoes seemed to throw the look off a little for me, but she still looked well put together. Her hair and makeup always save the day.
Gabrielle Union was all smiles during a taping of Access Hollywood. The Being Mary Jane actress injected some color with a floral Suno dress while celebrating Tylenol’s How We Family campaign. Great choice for Gabby! Though printed on a dark backdrop, at least she experimented with something eye-catching and colorful this go ’round. Loved her hair as well!
Not exactly a fashion related post, but here’s our girl, Zendaya, who let those pearly whites shine during her high school graduation. Major congrats are in order for one of our Fashion Bomb faves, especially since she prides herself on being a positive role model for all girls out there. We only see things going up from here. Congrats, girl!
Power actress Naturi Naughton posed for a pic at the Hot in Hollywood panel during the American Black Film Festival. She repped for her co-star Lala Anthony by wearing a white 5th & Mercer dress, white pumps and statement earrings by Simone I Smith jewelry. While I loved the dress, shoes and hair, the earrings, hmm… are a little distracting. A statement ring would’ve fared better instead.
Michael B. Jordan never lets a red (or orange) carpet moment get the best of him because he always looks impeccable. The Fantastic 4 actor attended a 20th Century Fox Lupus Foundation charity event while wearing a Zegna suit and $920 Christian Louboutin ‘Zazou Fiori’ shoes. Are you as enamored by the tailoring as I am?
And last, but not least, is R&B crooner Luke James. who got in front of the lens for a few black and white shots. The singer celebrated his birthday over the weekend and saw it necessary to STUNT! Givenchy was James’ choice, from the suit to the…
…SHOES! If not for your birthday, then when? My favorite of the week!
Someone asked, “What is the No Basics Brunch about, really?” It’s simply a brunch full of fashionable enthusiasts. Instead of calling it ‘Fashion Brunch,’ we brainstormed a catchy name, and settled on No Basics. The name is fun and so is the event!
Take a look at a bit of street styled from our well dressed attendees:
Nichole Alibi went for subdued and monochrome in a white ruffled top and khaki pants, topped off by Valentino rockstud pumps and Prada sunglasses.
Linda and Corey of Midget Giraffe always represent! They looked lovely in pieces of their own design.
Koran looked summer ready in all white, electrified by a shock of blond hair.
@Ofunneamaka rocked a Forever 21 top, topshop pants, and Prabal Gurung for Target heels.
Shade! @_Melenigma committed to the theme in a hot H&M hat, a Uniqlo top, and River Island shoes.
Designer Kira Nacole went for all black with lace up sandals, a fringed bag, and look at me shades.
This fashionista paired a sparkly top with jeans shorts and blush colored peep toe heels.
We’re having two more this summer–one in July and another in August. I’ll be sure to post details here and on the ‘Gram so you can join us;)

The death knell tolls. If the rumors are correct, The Lucky Group, which owns the newly relaunched LuckyShops.com as well as the quarterly print version, is slated to close some time this month. The reason is said to be a lack of investment money coming through, though that’s not confirmed. The team has already seen the departure of the Chief Creative officer Eva Chen as well as the company’s president. (Daily Front Row)
If you ever have wondered where your luggage goes if you decided not to claim it, it’s probably in Alabama. A company Called Unclaimed Baggage Center rounds up the baggage from domestic airlines, pilfers through it to decide what they want, dry-cleans and/or launders it, donates what they don’t want to charity, and sells the rest in their 40,000 square foot retail facility. Designer Elie Tahari has been served with a $12 million dollar sexual harassment lawsuit for an alleged incident that happened in 2011. According to the suit, fashion consultant Marcy Castelgrande was modeling a skirt for a crowd of about ten coworkers, colleagues and supervisors. Castelgrande says that Tahari attempted to lift the skirt “above her panty line,” and sent her away when she refused. When Castelgrande reported the event to HR, she was reportedly fired within two hours. (NY Daily News)
Her wool LBD features allover grommet detailing, a mock turtleneck, sleeveless form-fitting silhouette, moderate shoulder coverage, and a straight hem.
Selena Gomez was the lady in red at the Hotel Transylvania 2 Cancun Photocall in a Katie Ermilio Fall 2015 Strapless Red Strapless Bandeau, Red Strapless Slit Skirt and Christian Louboutin Gwynitta Sandals:
Selena stuck to the brand’s styling, only swapping out the look’s monochrome pumps for her gold sandals.
Her sandals feature crisscross vamps with adjustable side buckles, slender double toe straps, and 4″ heels.
