Happy Thursday, Guys!
Last night I was invited to the Casa Reale Fine Jewelry Launch at the Box, and was treated to a special performance by Rose McGowan and Mary J. Blige!
Before the festivities began, invitees enjoyed a delicious dinner.
Then it was time for Mary to take the stage! The Queen of Hip Hop and R&B regaled the crowd with hits like Real Love, No More Drama, and Family Affair, along with a few new songs from her London Sessions album.
Afterwards, I managed to grab a pic with Mary J and Rose McGowan! Mary and I bonded briefly over our Capricorn connection (her birthday is January 11th, mine is January 12th).
It was a fun time, with a glittering crowd, which included the Yushuvaeva Casa Reale family, Derek Anderson, Victor Kubicek, Kimberly Hachett, Haya Maraka, Beatrix Ost, Ty Hunter, Beverly Camhe, Lauren Remington-Platt, Skye Peters, Stella Schnabel, Frederique van der Wal, Anya Varda, Arden Wohl, Francesca Eastwood, Frances Fisher, Ann Dexter-Jones, Langley Fox, Natalie Joos, Sarah Sophie Flicker, Erin Fetherston, Cory Kennedy, Angela Simmons, Michelle Hicks, Victoria Bartlett, Mick Rock, Paul Wilson, and more.
In fact, most attendees were sporting pieces from Casa Reale. See more pictures from the night here:

I admittedly have had quite a somber morning given the news coming out of Charleston, but I’m taking this fashion-filled respite as a distraction from the harrowing events that seem to affect our society on a regular basis. I hope it can serve as a bit of momentary amusement for you as well.
There were a ton of high-fashion events this week including the Women In Film Crystal + Lucy Awards, The Max Mara 2015 Face Of The Future Event, and the Burberry Menswear Spring 2016 show. Celebs slipped on bold frocks, pristine all-white ensembles, statement-making sandals, and even a few expertly-tailored suits.
Let’s see what they wore!
Tessa Thompson was the lady in red at the Women in Film 2015 Crystal + Lucy Awards in LA, shimmering in a sequin-embellished Max Mara dress, black pumps, and a Rauwolf clutch.
At the The Max Mara 2015 Women In Film Face Of The Future event at the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood, Ashley Madekwe was simple and chic in a monochromatic all-white look consisting of a short-sleeve blouse from the brand and cropped pleated trousers. She finished her ‘fit with a gold metallic Max Mara clutch, ankle-strap sandals, and red lips. Hot!
Jamie Chung punctuated a simple tie-waist LBD with lace-up snakeskin sandals at the Flock of Dudes Screening at the 2015 LA Film Festival. A cool look in my book.
A light grey check suit and navy lace-up shoes were Chiwetel Ejiofor’s choices at the Burberry Menswear Spring/Summer 2016 show across the pond in London. I liked this relaxed take on the Summer suit!
We’ve been blessed with a David Gandy sighting this week! He was also at the Burberry show in a three-piece gray suit, pinstripe shirt, and contrasting navy tie. Has he ever looked anything less than gorgeous?
Last, but certainly not least were Tinie Tempah, Lewis Hamilton, and Labrinth at the Richard James show during The London Collections Men SS16. So many hot men in just one picture? I’m here for it!
Still no submissions for international street style, so we’re throwing it over to the ever so talented David Nyanzi in London!
He actually sent quite a few great pictures my way, but this young lady caught my attention:
Her curls are electric, and let’s get into her outfit! She added a girly twist to a tomboy chic look with ruffled socks. Adorable, no?
Stay tuned for more London street chic, and style from all over the world tomorrow.
And how about this: If you know of great street style photographers abroad, leave their Instagram page or website in the comments;)
Until then, what do you think?
Our First Lady came dressed to impress for her London rounds!
She was spied in a custom Christopher Kane floral dress yesterday, which she paired with black kitten heels:
She then zoomed off to Italy, and boarded the plane in a dip dyed red and pink number.
When she landed, it was all about prints.
Which look is your fave thus far of our First Lady’s trip abroad?
Happy Wednesday, Bombers and Bombshells!
Last night, I was pleased to be invited to an Evening with Mary J. Blige at Morgan Stanley!
The event kicked off with a look at a film about Mary, documenting her most recent London Sessions studio album. See a preview here:
Afterwards, Morgan Stanley Executive Director Kim Hatchett asked Ms. Blige a series of poignant questions about her journey, her new music, and how she feels at this stage in her career.
Mary ventured out to London to try out a new sound, and says she did so because she feared getting stuck in just one genre. She said, ” I wanted to do something new and innovative. It was unfair to myself as an artist to not venture into any other types of music”
In terms of advice she’d give to her 21-year-old self, she said, “Don’t be afraid to be great.” And the best advice she’s ever received was from Chaka Khan, who said, “You need to dye your roots the same color as your hair. And You Need to Get out of Your Own Way.”
I wasn’t able to grab a pic with Mary J afterwards (she had to run to perform at the 2015 AmFar Inspiration Gala), though I did grab pictures of and with a few illustrious audience members:
I’m actually seeing Mary perform a few of her new songs tonight. Hopefully I can snag a pic with the Queen of Hip Hop and R&B.
Stay tuned;)
