Alright, I realize its December and it may or may not be appropriate weather for sandals, but one can still lust over these Dsquared2 Virginia heels!

Xmas came early for Rihanna (lucky!) as she flaunted her pair on Instagram, causing massive shoe envy. So bomb!

The bedazzled Virgina sandals retail for $3,016.84 and feature intricately placed rhinestones and gold hardware.

I think I’ll have to patiently wait for the affordable Zara version while these collect dust on my Wish List (sigh).

Bombshell Jai Nice also displayed her killer heels on Instagram and had FBD readers inquiring!

They are available for purchase here in beige and pastel pink. What do you think?
Would you rock these Rihanna-approved stunners?

“I would describe my style as affordable, clean cut…”
“with an occasional dissent from the masculine norms.”

Today’s Bombshell is sure to make you smile! Check out Shannon from Miami:
She writes, “I currently live in Atlanta, GA but I’m originally from Miami. My roots go back to Jamaica and Trinidad.”
“My style is very similar to my personality…FUN! I like to have fun with everything that I wear which is why I’m unafraid to try bright colors such as yellow and fun prints like polka dots. “
“Funky, I am told all the time that I’m not exactly normal and I like for my style to be the same. Whether I mix it up and surprise people by going for darker colors or/and for mixing both feminine and masculine pieces such as lace, tutus, and bow-ties! “
“Feminine and Flirty, I’m definitely a girly girl and so my style expresses that most of the time. I’m not afraid to wear feminine colors such as red and purple and add even more feminine pieces such as a floral headband or cutesy delicate tights.”
“You can find my on IG at @shanhem1 and I have a blog that I just started this year… www.Shanscapes.com.”
Fun is a perfect adjective. This certainly made my heart smile.

Happy Monday!
Last night, I was invited by Lisa Price and Carol’s Daughter to a screening of Ava DuVernay’s new movie, Selma.
Starring Oprah Winfrey, Common, Cuba Gooding Junior, and newcomer David Oyelowo, the movie is a biopic about Martin Luther King, Jr., and focuses on his Civil Rights activism, specifically his marches in Selma, Alabama. Poignant, powerful, and timely, the movie shows how far we’ve come, yet how far we still have to go. The similarities between the 1960’s, where blacks were killed with no consequence, to now, are frankly, alarming. The movie was eye opening, but shows that there is power in people galvanizing together to create change. We have the power!

At any rate, Carol’s Daughter founder Lisa Price invited a slew of fashionable gals to view the screening as well, including Cosmo’s Shiona Turini, Teen Vogue’s Elaine Welteroth, Glamour’s Rajni Jacques, and my fellow blogger boo, Karen from Where did U Get That.
After the screening, we hopped by the after party at the New York Public Library. Though I hoped to catch a snap with Lady O, she was nowhere to be found, though I did grab pix with Common, Tessa Thompson (who plays Diane Nash in the film and wore a gorgeous Rodarte dress), Cuba Gooding Junior, and the fabulous Tia Mowry-Hardrict (she was wearing Stone Cold Fox):

For the occasion, I wore a BCBG Jaxon Tiered fringed jacket with my white Victoria’s Secret pencil skirt.

I wore my Borsalino hat because my hair is a mess…! LOL. And I’m sure you’re relieved I wore a coat, namely my Theory Cassius topper. I completed with Christian Louboutin So Kate’s and Berkshire sheer hose in Tan de Sol.

I couldn’t urge you more to go see Selma. Like 12 Years a Slave, it documents a very painful period in American history, but knowing and reflecting on the past is imperative to understanding today, and advocating for a better future.
Selma hits theaters January 9th, 2015. Mark your calendars and support!

*See a few official pictures from the red carpet below:
