The 2015 BET Awards weekend ended with the actual show, and I was blessed to be in the building! These past few days have been absolutely amazing–I love connecting with the people we write about, getting to know more about them, and hearing how much they love what we do! At any rate, I covered the red carpet for the BET Awards, and tasked myself with asking everyone who they were wearing. For the occasion, I wore custom LaQuan Smith!
It’s important to me to support black up and coming designers, especially at the BET Awards. And I honestly love LaQuan’s work!
I accessorized with Sisoo Jewelry earrings and bronze Jimmy Choo pumps.
I didn’t grab too many selfies this time. Between getting video and wrangling with Snapchat, I couldn’t think of doing a third thing (and I just heard about Periscope? Lord help me!). Though I did show some leg with Mila J after the show (she was wearing Michael Costello).
And I was sitting behind Marlo Hampton inside. We snapchatted a little;) At any rate, she’s down to do a Closet Confessions video with us. I’m down!
I’m gonna blog just a bit more, then head to the airport. Next weekend is Essence Music Festival, and after that: REST.

On day 2 of BET Awards weekend, I stopped by Ciroc’s Summer brunch hosted by Cassie!
The room was filled with beautiful women, including Lauren London, Draya Michele, Apryl Jones, and more.
Take a look:
Draya Michele looked gorgeous in a white custom Valencia Atelier dress.
Cassie wore a Nicholas top and Elisabetta Franchi striped pants, and posed with Love and Hip Hop LA star Apryl Jones, who wore a Lurelly dress for the festivities.
Cassie also posted up pretty with Lauren London, who uplifted an all white look with Sophia Webster Clementine Nude/Camo sandals.
Former America’s Next Top Model contestant Eugena Washington set the sidewalk aflame in a printed dress.
Stylist Prince Deonte gave face in a jean shirt and Doc Marten boots.
And I went for dazzle in a Glish top from Patricia Field, Norma Kamali shorts, and Giuseppe Zanotti white sandals.

So I’ve landed in LA for the BET Awards. It’s my very first time being on the scene, but I think it will be fun, and I’m excited about getting some original content for you guys!
There are loads of events leading up to the actual awards show. Yesterday, I popped by a pool party at the Mondrian Hotel hosted by Tidal and Meek Mill.
See who rolled through:
How adorable is Justine Skye? The songstress graced the event in a LaQuan Smith lace top, Maje skirt, and Christian Louboutin heels.
Wale and I chatted a bit about fashion (he has a thing for style!). He rocked an Off White by Virgil Abloh Varsity Letter Jacket and Balmain jeans.
Elle Varner came ready for the pool in a black bikini, sheer cover up, Chloé sunglasses, and Bottega Veneta black and white strappy sandals.
Fabolous paired denim shorts with an OG tank, vintage shades, and Buscemi sneakers.
French Montana was in the building in an Alexander McQueen skull printed button down.
The man of the hour, Meek Mill, slipped on black pants, a Helmut Lang graphic tee, and Givenchy Tyson High Tops in navy leather.
And I hit the carpet (why not?) in a Mary Katrantzou shirt, a Violet Flower Boutique Denim Skirt, and MSGM sandals.
It was a fun time!
