Rihanna held a block party for Puma last night featuring a performance by Travis Scott, followed by a hot party at the Edition hotel!
It was definitely the place to be–loads of stars were in attendance.

Kim and Kanye stopped by! I’m really loving Kim’s ruffled, high slit moment.

So, we have a new site design–what do you think?
I decided to show off our new digs for Day 1 of Fashion Week, when I attended the BCBG Max Azria show, followed by an event for KLS by Kimora Lee Simmons!
I said hey to Christina Milian, Emily B, and Atlanta Bombshells Quadd Webb Lunceford and Toya Wright at BCBG. They all looked lovely rocking pieces from the brand:

As I said on Instagram, meeting Kimora was a moment! When I first started this blog, I bought her Fabulosity book and studied it like a diligent fashion student. I’m sure you guys remember that the Baby Phat shows were typically the only shows I used to cover on FBD!

The weather has been dreary in New York, but that doesn’t stop the style for New York Fashion Week. Show attendees came out to the festivities dressed in their best.

Kimora Lee Simmons is a mother of four, a business woman, and a fashion legend. She entered the industry at the tender age of 14, modeling for the likes of Karl Lagerfeld and Yves Saint Laurent, and later catapulted to our collective conscience as the creative director and face of her bold brand, Baby Phat. After decades of making her mark in the style industry, she launched her KLS by Kimora Lee Simmons line, which showed its 3rd collection last night. The line embodies slick sophistication, and a bold outlook, perfect for a mature woman with edge.

Spring 2016 offered form fitting shifts, with knee and midi length hems which can easily transition from the office to a cocktail party. Jumpsuits boasted embellishments, low cuts, light catching sequins, and more.

Pinstripes and suiting offered a masculine edge. Modern boss ladies, take note!

I spoke to Kimora last night, and she revealed that her daughter Ming Lee, who is 15, also finds pieces she loves from the line. For the younger consumer, KLS offers mini skirts, moto jackets, slits, zipper details, and more.

Kylie Jenner and Mary J. Blige are fans of KLS collection, which is a testament to the brand’s ageless appeal.

Hot! or Hmm…to Lala’s look?

Tadashi Shoji’s Spring 2016 collection was absolutely breathtaking! With a continuous blend of soft pastels, sheer stunners and an understated elegance, the designer garnered inspiration from both Japan and the classic aesthetic. But, get this, each look presented a different story and the meticulous detail within each garment proved that more is always better!

Shoji stuck to the concept of feminine flair this season. While clinging to A-line silhouettes, floral embellishments and layered tulle midi skirt, the models looked as if they were (literally) floating down the runway. I also applaud the underlying whimsical appeal behind a few of the designer’s gowns.

There were even a few trends spotted amongst Shoji’s delicate ensembles – from obi belts to capes to see-through sweatshirts, the presentation successfully brought forth innovative creativity while incorporating familiar themes.

All in all, this was a great collection! As aforementioned, Shoji certainly has a knack for injecting signature elements from his culture into each individual piece. It almost seems as if there’s a subtle sultriness etched deep within his designs. Of course – there were a few plunging necklines and tons of sheerness but the sophistication of each look was never subdued. And, that’s what I love!

And, that about sums it up! So, what did you think of Tadashi Shoji’s Ready to Wear Spring 2016 collection?
