Her shoes (which are now sold out in blue) feature a thick ankle strap that also includes a gold buckle. It offers a thick platform, skinny heel and is open-toed.
Made from the finest textured Taurillon Gex leather and lined with a softer goatskin leather, the bag currently is not sold in the US. Quite small (roughly about the size of two rubix cubes), it features a gold lock detail as well as shoulder strap for easy mobility.
I think she looks flawless (as per usual nowadays) and I am loving both of these pieces.
If you’re down for the splurge of her heels (and want them in black since blue is sold out), you can buy them here.
Karl Lagerfeld’s Resort shows for Chanel are things of legend: either staged in some exotic locale or inspired by one. Unbeknownst to many, the fashion icon has had a love affair with Latin music for decades—winning contests in tango and cha-cha and demonstrating that his dance moves are as precise and lovely as his design prowess. He titled his latest assortment for the French fashion house “Coco Cuba” and staged it as you may have guessed in good old Havana, Cuba.
Transitional season collections are always the most wearable out of what a brand offers all the year on the runway—subject to change of course with the rise in the see-now, buy-now approach. So many of the ensembles here felt completely approachable: knit, off-the-shoulder tops, functional shorts, office-perfect tweed sheaths, and metallic slides.
Dramatic feathered sleeves, graphic t-shirts, colorful lace pencil skirts, and menswear-inspired oxfords and wingtips ushered in the nods to Havana’s statement-making style signatures.
And naturally where looks fell short in the wearability department, they excelled in the red carpet arena. An off-the-shoulder mini dress with crisscross straps and ruffle detailing is already on the watch lists of Hollywood’s youngest starlets, while a cropped blazer and white tulle skirt pairing was just the right sophisticated touch for those who like to borrow from the boys now and again.
Some of the ensembles missed the mark with one too many focal points, prints, and accents.
But fashion never stops and naturally, neither does Karl Lagerfeld. Up next for the brand is a photoshoot for the collection and the announcement for its next Métiers d’Art show in December.
In the meantime, we’ll have the chance to see a few of these looks on the red carpet, at photocalls, and parties at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival.
