Another Vintage Style from Bomb Contributor Ashley!!

Before Lady GaGa and Beyoncé rocked it out onstage in leotards and Rihanna’s edgy steez took the world by storm, there was Vanity. This shamelessly sexy headliner of the group “Vanity 6” was the pop tart with the most swagger and baddest bad-girl appeal.

When it comes to my own personal style, I generally keep the classy swag on lock but it’s the year of the alter-ego, no? If Beyoncé can channel Sasha Fierce, then there’s no reason that you can’t let your own vamp out to play!

Dabble with animal prints and exposed skin; wear a dazzling cocktail ring over a pair of elbow length gloves; or leopard-print Loubs (or suitable alternatives!) with a daring LBD. Sky’s the limit here: put on your skinniest jeans, your shortest mini-dress, and your highest stilettos!
Let your inner Nasty Girl out to play (even if just in theory!) by trying one or more of the following options:

  1. Vanity 6:Super Feeling This Post!!!!!!

    I love the album cover.

-Good Job Chick(Keep Up the Good Work)

  2. OK, I’m going to date myself here…when I graduated from HS Purple Rain had came out that year …my dress was a pink lace dress complete with lace gloves…

I was too upset that Vanity was replaced with Appollonia (although I liked her too)! Vanity rocked the lace WAAAYYYYYY BEFORE MADONNA!!!! And before Vanity, The Mary Jane Girls did it as well.

Did you know that Susan (girl in the tiger dress and in the second picture, she’s wearing white) was only 16 at the time?

“Nasty Girls” ruled but “Drive Me Wild” was my jam!

Woo honey, thanks for this trip down memory lane for real! LOL!

  3. I TOTALLY AGREE MONI MONI! I was a fan of Vanity more so than Apollonia!
Vanity 6 style was da’ bomb! Thanks for the flash back!

Also, not only “Nasty Girl” and “Drive Me Wild” but I loved the song “Make Up” too!!!!

    Keep the Vintage Styles flowing!

    Smooches!
