Sportmax was doing athleisure long before it was a trend, but it seems the brand is really playing into that sporty, “not actually for the gym” sensibility with Fall 2017. You won’t find anyone actually working out in the pieces on display, but you will definitely find them out and about shopping, at brunch, and jetting around town in the wares.

Track pants and zip-front dresses inspired by anoraks played into that athletic-influenced vibe. But when paired with ankle boots and pointed-toe flats, that vibe switched more to having fun than breaking a sweat.

As is requisite for the season, outerwear was a big focus with cozy, fur coats and zip-front designs, as well as glossy patent leather pieces taking centerstage.

Many of the looks were absolutely practical and functional. A black coat cinched at the waist with a contrast belt could work for the office or play, while a black skirt suit on Lineisy Montero could be worn again and again in any woman’s wardrobe.

And if you’re looking for ways to wear your black leggings this Fall, Sportmax is giving you a ton of options. Whether layered under a black and white tunic or a luscious white coat, the brand’s got you covered. And you’ll be far from basic!

I’m all about simplicity these days, thus I loved the neutral looks and their minimalist approach. It truly does not get better than a black and white turtleneck and mini skirt or a black jumpsuit with a chain-link accented front for a bit of flair.

But it’s a logomania world, thus the collection’s graphics did pack a punch. A “Steady Run” skirt suit on Adwoa Aboah had major street style snap appeal, while a quilted “Run” scarf and sweater on Imaan Hammam was perfection…though not made for the actual sport, of course.
