Blake Lively is on a roll in New York promoting her new movie The Shallows, hitting theaters this Friday.  She made an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to gab about the new film and to share a few laughs with the funny man while wearing a Cushnie et Ochs Resort 2017 Ribbed Off-The-Shoulder dress and $2,495 Christian Louboutin ‘Miss Taos’ Multicolor Beaded Pumps.

 The bandage fit at the bust falls gracefully off the shoulders while keeping everything in place.  The bottom of the dress is made of a stretchy light-knit fabric, perfect for her growing baby bump.  And inch or two below the knee, the modest length shows a little bit of leg while elongating her frame. Blake jazzed up her ensemble even more with her bold, patterned pumps. Inspired by Mexican artisinal crafts, Louboutin’s ‘Miss Taos’ pumps are certain to garner the a few double-takes.  With elaborate and colorful beading, this four-inch heel makes for the perfect summer shoe. Clad in a peach colored number by Elie Saab yesterday, Blake opted for bold colors this go ’round, choosing cobalt over the blush color as seen on the model above.  With soft makeup, a slightly messy ponytail and minimal jewelry, Blake let the colors of her look speak for themselves.  And she looks hot! Do you agree?

When you think of your skin tone, what comes to mind?  When I think of mine, I see rich chocolate skin that shimmers when the sun hits it.  Skin that has its own natural highlight and with the sun serving as bronzer.  Today, I am proud of my complexion.  Unfortunately that feeling hasn’t always been familiar to me.  I grew up being one of the darker people in my family.  I was constantly told, “You’re pretty for a brown skin girl.”  It left me wondering what was wrong with all of the other girls if I was the exception.  Still, I went through my teenage years realizing that my slightly darker skin set me aside from my fair-skin counterparts.  When I realized who Marsha B. was, I realized that my color is one of a queen.  Not because of the degree of melanin, but because the melanin tells a story of strength, no matter the shade.  Our complexion tells a historic tale of trials, tribulations and triumphs.  Brown skin wasn’t always the popular choice until one day, women of color everywhere woke up and decided, “My brown skin is poppin!”

Tori Elizabeth and Victory Jones joined forces to birth The Colored Girl Campaign.  The primary focus behind TCG is to highlight the beauty and features of the brown color wheel.  Mainstream media may frown on our complexion and features, but this campaign works to empower and unite women of color based on their unique physical attributes. Each model was handpicked by Tori and Victory with the intention of accentuating the features that media finds abnormal or weird yet are emulated and celebrated on other women.  Tori explained, “There are moments where I feel everyone loves us and wants to be us and have our features. But then there are the moments when I feel it’s not okay for us to have it but it’s okay for the masses to have it.  So as a brown girl I feel sometimes it’s not okay to be who you are.  Whether it’s in media or social media.  I’m from the south, where being a brown girl isn’t something that people necessarily worship or praise.  I want the next generation (and our generation) to look at this campaign and feel like it’s okay to be a brown girl, outside of media.  In real life.“

The process for picking the models for TCG was simple. “(I looked for) Different girls of different shades.  I was looking at facial features that didn’t really match the other, but complimented one another.  I looked at hair that they had whether it was locks, braids, weaves or afros.  I looked at the skin tone.  From the lightest skin to the darkest, beautiful skin.  I didn’t want it to be commercial and conventional; I didn’t want every girl to have the same body type, I wanted to show different aspects of a woman,” she said.

So in addition to our Cocktails with Claire and Miss Diddy events, Miss Diddy and I have collaborated on a dinner series, which brings together powerful, influential, bomb men and women to break bread and build! Our first Influencer Dinner was in LA and last night we took our talents to my hometown of Atlanta for a fabulous dinner, sponsored by Reebok, and co-hosted by Toya Wright and Tammy Rivera.

The dress code was Reebok, so guests represented in sneakers, leggings, and low key Athleisure looks. Lots of Bombshells came and showed their support, including Kandi Burruss, Monyetta Shaw, Rasheeda, Latasha Wright, Parischea, Tami Reed of Talking with Tami, Fashion Bomb Daily graphic designer Ashley Stewart, and Marie Denee of the Curvy Fashionista!

Parischea sat pretty in a jumpsuit, Christian Louboutin heels, a Gucci bag, and a Reebok sheer jacket.

Tammy Rivera made Reebok Classics look oh so cute, didn’t she? She wore a Zara jacket, white dress, and a popping Gucci Sylvie Top Leather Handle purse.

Toya Wright added heels and a Givenchy Antigona bag to a Reebok jacket and a Shop Garb Boutique black dress.

Kandi kept it simple in ripped jeans and a white button down.

And Miss Diddy and I wore the same Reebok Dance Strappy Bra Top! She dressed hers up with a Reebok jacket, denim shorts, and Saint Laurent heels, while I skewed more casual in a Reebok jacket, leggings, and black Classics.
It was a fun night! Atlanta showed us lots of love!





I have a few more days in the A before heading to LA for the BET Awards. We’ll be on the carpet–it’s sure to be a fun time!

The Carters are taking a much needed break from Beyonce’s Formation World Tour.  Luxuriating in Hawaii on vacation, Queen Bey shared a few photos on her website of her family’s holiday from building Sandcastles on the beach yesterday (pun intended) to wearing a $210 Sugarbird ‘Copacabana’ Lemon Printed Dress near the pool.

This printed summertime off-the-shoulder maxi dress features quarter sleeves, an empire elastic waist and a billowing silhouette.  Not to mention, the lemons emblazoned on this frock and the lemon festooned headband are a genius nod to the success of her latest album and tour.
