Olivier Rousteing has every reason to be bold and brave. He’s the go-to designer for the celeb and jetsetting set all around the globe. He has amassed over 3 million Instagram followers, and counting by the minute. Balmain just got a major new owner—none other than Mayhoola for Investments, which also owns Valentino and put over a half a million dollars on the table to acquire the French fashion house. And he’s just collaborated with Nike.

His latest offerings for his Spring 2017 menswear collection were as flashy and fearless as ever. And to quote the phrase that everyone’s using right now: it’s clear that Rousteing has the range. The assortment kicked off with denim and ended with nighttime-perfect wear. So that you essentially can wear Balmain all day, in every way, for every occasion.

Glamour, embellishment, and color were on high: as are pretty much requisite for Balmain at this point. A glitter-adorned jumpsuit on Cindy Bruna screamed red carpet premiere, while a cobalt suede poncho and backpack were the perfect blend of function and texture.

Metallics had a moment on a gold tassel necklace and strappy metal sandals. And a sculpted choker on Tami Williams lent the finishing touches to a colorful printed long jacket and trousers.

Classic stripes were variegated and a veritable hue explosion, with combinations of cobalt, kelly green, pink, rust, and more. The fashion house’s trademark weaving was present on women’s tops and mini dresses—”going out” gear if ever there was any. And Rousteing juxtaposed that with easy, yet lavish takes on the classic sweatshirt and sweatpant pairing for men. Effortless slides anchored many of the looks and presented the best bets that the brand has for an “it” accessory for the season.

Crochet definitely channeled Spring, without feeling kitschy or overdone. It accented an on-trend halter crop top, high-waist ankle grazing skirt, a mini dress with chain link and lace-up detailing, a wearable black sweater, and multicolor trousers banded at the ankles.

Volume made its presence felt with billowing open jackets, cascading long sleeves, and regal cape silhouettes in sumptuous shades.

Denim felt anything but basic, in the form of oversized tunics, skinny leggings layered under boldly-hued shorts, utilitarian backpacks, and a sultry shirt dress with sheer panels.

The aforementioned lace-up detailing accented suede and denim tunics.

We know that Kanye West will be sporting the collection’s beaded jackets over the next few months, though the dresses with the glittering accent will surely impress wife Kim Kardashian and her lot of Balmain-loving sisters.

Rousteing did what he does best: showy and snazzy clothing that sometimes parses in function and mostly injects lavishness. And when your friends are the biggest supermodels, celebrities, and tastemakers in the world, why look any further than them for inspiration? That’s who influenced this collection and we know that all of his friends and muses are already chomping at the bit to slip into these designs.

I liked this!

Some of the world’s most stylish gents were front row at Dior Homme’s Spring 2017 show! Our favorite fashionable rapper, actors with an acute sartorial sensibility, and athletes who are fly off the court and field were all in attendance.
Let’s see what they wore!

Michael B. Jordan kept it simple and chic in all-black, while A$AP Rocky opted for a bolder look in a black suit with floral patch embroidery and button accents.

Nick Young enjoyed himself (perhaps milly rocking?) in denim, a graphic hoodie, and long navy coat.

Victor Cruz flaunted his love for Givenchy in a logo sweatshirt for the brand and low-top kicks.

Robert Pattinson chose a cool black suit that put a spin on the classic.
Who had your favorite look?
Cheers to weekend!
I hope that everyone had a productive work week! As far as my own, I’ve been busy prepping for a much-needed staycation and some serious R&R. As some of the biggest stars and influencers head to Los Angeles for the highly-anticipated 2016 BET Awards, I’ll be here in Houston – watching from afar and praying for the opportunity to attend next year.
But, before we get into the epic performances BET has lined up for Sunday (how can we forget about the iconic Prince tribute featuring D’Angelo, Janelle Monae, Sheila E. and The Roots?!), let’s get into some of our favorite celeb looks of the week!
Ready?!
1) Blake Lively in Versace

Mommy-to-be Blake Lively was papped out and about in New York City while rocking a Versace Fall 2016 Cutout Multicolor Paillette Midi Dress, strappy patent leather sandals and her signature golden curls. This eye-catching piece showcases intricate side detailing, a fitted silhouette and a cowl neckline. The Shallows actress has served up consecutive killer maternity looks and, every time we spot her, she’s literally glowing. I’m here for it!
2) Solange in Michael Kors

Solange Knowles graced the Michael Kors Regent Store Opening Private Dinner along with a slew of Tinseltown’s finest including Gwyneth Paltrow, Elle MacPherson and Jessica Chastain. The songstress/actress uplifted a a black wool jacket and eccentric silver metallic embroidered stretch tulle trousers from the brand. She topped off her menswear-inspired ensemble with fuchsia lips and a matching clutch. Love it! (Sidenote: We, here at Fashion Bomb Daily, would also like to wish Solo a happy birthday! The style maven turns 30 today!)
3) Kourney Kardashian in Sergio Hudson

The lovely Kourtney Kardashian posed for the ‘Gram with little sister Kylie Jenner as she flaunted her enviable bod in a Sergio Hudson Fall 2016 Purple Velvet Bandeau and chic wide leg trousers. I really appreciate the simplicity of this entire look – you can do no wrong with playing up similar hues and keeping accessories to a minimum. Talk about minimalism at its best!
4) Jennifer Lopez in C/Meo Collective

Jennifer Lopez channeled #GirlBoss vibes as she hit the concrete catwalk in New York City earlier this week. The superstar looked flawless and completely unbothered as she donned a pair of Fendi Cat Eye Sunglasses, a C/Meo Collective Two Sides Top and their Stand Still Skirt. The summer-ready ‘fit houses a wrap-around halterneck feature, a towering slit and a wide waist band. Coral pointed toe leather pumps and a color block handbag also added spice to J.Lo’s polished ‘fit. Hot!
5) LaLa Anthony in Balmain

And, LaLa Anthony concludes our contenders for the Look of the Week feature! The television personality attended the New York premiere of the hit show Power as she turned heads in a curve-hugging Balmain Bandage Long Sleeve Mini Dress, metallic lace-up sandals and gold hair embellishments. The fitted designer piece also includes a plunging neckline, structured shoulders and a neutral khaki tone. She looks fantastic, no?

Aubrey Plaza made an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers in the same $1,750 Beau Souci White Sequin Star Dress Erika Jayne originally wore last month:

Aubrey paired the dress with black, pointed-toe pumps, while Erika chose $685 Giuseppe Zanotti Betty Metallic Platform Sandals.
The white and gold dress features an allover sun print, long sleeves, and sequin embellishment.

Erika won this round for me.
What do you think? Who wore it better?

Kanye West debuted his NSFW Famous Video last night in LA! Of course his family members came to show support.
Take a look:
Wifey Kim Kardashian West kept it consistent in a nude dress and clear Yeezy sandals.

Kylie Jenner and Tyga came by together, with Kylie in hot thigh high boots.
And Kourtney rocked a Life of Pablo sweatshirt as a dress and peep toe thigh high boots.
More pictures are filtering in, but until then, what do you think?
Kanye’s Famous video is already ruffling feathers.
In it, Kanye West shows himself in bed with naked doppelgangers of Taylor Swift, George Bush, Donald Trump, Amber Rose, Rihanna, Anna Wintour, and more (and the real Kim Kardashian West).
The premise is that he made them all famous in some way. In some cases, yes, in some cases, it’s a bit of a stretch…

Rita Ora grabbed dinner at Mr Chow’s in London, sporting the same Christian Dior Little Black Dress she originally wore in June 2014:

The first time, Rita paired the LBD with red lips and pointed-toe, ankle-strap pumps. This time around, she toughened it up with a black leather jacket, black sweater, fishnet tights, and combat boots.
I love the idea of repurposing a Dior dress…I would have to wear it at least 100 times!
What do you think? When did she wear it better?
