After eight months, the Paris-based couture brand Christian Dior has finally replaced Raf Simons. After announcing her departure from Valentino, Maria Grazia Chiuri has been named to Dior’s top post.
The move makes Chiuri the first female designer of Dior in the brand’s 70 year history. Having recently made headlines for tapping their first male ambassador with A$AP Rocky as well as collaborating with a female ambassador for the first time with Rihanna, the label has been rife with changes. This latest is definitely a welcome one as it breaks down the boy’s club that holds the top jobs at major European luxury houses.
Chiuri is known most notably for the 17 years she spent at Valentino. There, along with Pierpaolo Piccioli the creative partner she’s worked with for a quarter of a century, she ascended to the creative director role. Prior to that, the pair revitalized accessories at Fendi. But now Piccioli will direct Valentino alone while Chiuri starts her tenure at Dior.
It will be interesting to see how Chiuri’s aesthetic develops now that she is alone. What do you think? Was she the right pick for Dior?

The ageless Naomi Campbell was an absolute vision as she attended The Serpentine Summer Party co-hosted by designer Tommy Hilfiger. She uplifted a shimmery number from the brand that showcases a plunging neckline, a navy-to-gold ombre effect and a fitted waist. Diamond accents and flawless makeup completed her glamorous look. Hot!
2) Ciara in Cavalli Couture
Huge congratulations are in order to Ciara and Russell Wilson! The two lovebirds officially tied the knot on Wednesday in an intimate ceremony held at Peckforton Castle in Cheshire, England. For the portentous occasion, the songstress donned a stunning Cavalli Couture White Silk Tulle Chantilly Lace Applique Bridal Gown and romantic blonde curls. CiCi’s jaw-dropping dress also boasts floral embroidery, glass beading and sheer fluted sleeves. So gorg!

Laura Govan is no stranger to our Look of the Week feature! The Instagram fave garnered almost over 6,000 likes with her multicolored frock that included a yellow Helmut Lang blazer, an Alexander Wang leather bralet, high-waisted Kyna Collection trousers and patent leather Chrsitian Louboutin pumps. I loved everything about this! The bold palette, the polished fit, the amazing hair…. gosh! I have to admit, Laura is another one of those style mavens that can make almost anything look good.

It never fails: Celebs always seem to post some of the hottest pictures to the ‘Gram! A few days ago, Jennifer Hudson shut it down as she flaunted her lustrous curves while headed to Ciara and Russell Wilson’s private wedding ceremony in a peach-hued Christian Siriano number that features a fishtail silhouette, exaggerated draped detailing and an undeniably chic 1930s-vintage appeal. The singer also rocked finger waves, an eclectic purple lip and minimal accessories.
5) Rihanna in Balmain and DSquared2
Fashion icon and self-proclaimed Bad Gal Rihanna scoured London streets (alongside rumored beau Drake) while rocking a Balmain Resort 2017 Light Wash Long Denim Coat, a Knitted Fringed Blue Dress and a colorblock belt from the brand. But, RiRi’s high fashion ensemble didn’t stop there!
