Ever since the rise of the #BlackLivesMatter Movement, celebrities have urged their fans and followers to encourage the growth of black businesses. Solange led the way when she publicly announced the importance of investing in black-owned establishments and, a few days ago, a coalition of Houston rappers entrusted their funds to one of the only African-American banks in the state. And, here at Fashion Bomb Daily, we’re also on board!
Join us as we get into some of the best buys (under $150) from some of our favorite up-and-coming black designers.

Yesterday, I spotted this exact dress on mommy-to-be Angela Simmons as she sent all 3.8 million of her Instagram followers into a fashion frenzy. I did a little research and discovered that designer Samantha Black was behind this dainty mini! On-trend bell sleeves give the perfect amount of slayage for any occasion.
Go for white hot vibes while flashing glimmers of skin with this cutout crepe pant set from Kyna Collection! I absolutely adore the modern take on this wardrobe staple.

Reality starlet Draya Michele‘s swimsuit line Mint Swim is on fire! Almost every piece online is sold out and the support for the brand is beyond phenomenal.
I spied this plunging high-cut one-piece that would look killer with a gold choker and oversized sunglasses. See more about it at Shop-Mint-Swim.com/a>!
So, it’s official – everyone is still reeling from the lemonade overdose via Queen Bey! After the release of her surprise visual album, the citrus-filled print has infiltrated both the runway and the concrete catwalk. Rue 107 New York even presented their own rendition that boasts an off-the-shoulder feature and a matching midi skirt. Cute!

In the meantime, what are your thoughts on the post? Did anything catch your eye?
Zoe Saldana was on hand for the San Diego premiere of her highly-anticipated film Star Trek Beyond while wearing a delightful Givenchy Spring 2016 Periwinkle Semi-Sheer Ruffle Midi Dress, powder blue ankle strap sandals and delicate silver jewelry.
While the presentation went for more of a grunge feel, Zoe’s feminine rendition proves that the versatility of this dress is limitless. The pastel-hued stunner also boasts a ruffle hem, gem-encrusted trimming and a clean silhouette.
I’m here for everything! Zoe kept it simple and slayed this entire ensemble. Very ladylike. Go girl!
Rita Ora snapped, crackled and popped as she hit the streets of New York City in a monochromatic yellow ensemble that set social media ablaze. The style maven made a major statement while donning an Escada Fall 2016 Yellow Cashmere Cropped Sweater and matching High-Waisted Pencil Trousers.
The monochromatic look was accessorized with a wide, embellished belt on the runway. Escada also opted for marigold satin sandals versus Rita’s sunny pointed leather pumps.
One thing I love about Rita is the fact that she’s not afraid to take fashion risks. Dressing up should be fun and refreshing – and, she proves that rocking a Big Bird-inspired frock can still be flamboyant yet chic.
In other news, are sweaters the norm during summertime in New York City?
Jhene Aiko is currently on tour making her rounds on The High Road Tour! The songstress took a quick moment to pose for the ‘Gram as she debuted new wavy, cotton candy pink hair, a teal satin bralet and Baja East Spring 2016 Micro Tribal Billow Pants.
On the catwalk, the wide-leg wonders were matched with a wrapped crop top, a fanny pack and a showstopping mullet. Baja East is one of those brands that is consistently on the cutting edge when it comes to innovative designs. Their presentations are filled with avant-garde inspiration that translates into sartorial gold.
But, I can dig Jhene’s take on the pants! She certainly has a distinct style that can’t be duplicated. Hot!
I’m also here for the pastel ‘do! It’s giving me 90’s vibes…
The fashion shakeups continue! After almost two years with the brand, Peter Copping has exited his post as the Creative Director at Oscar de la Renta:
Here’s Copping’s statement on his departure: “After almost two years at Oscar de la Renta, personal circumstances require me to return to Europe. I have loved my time in New York where I hope to return at some point in the future.”
Copping assumed the coveted and momentous role after Oscar de la Renta’s death in October of 2014. Based on a statement from Alex Bolen who is ODLR’s CEO, there doesn’t seem to be any bad blood between the company and the former Creative Director. “We have always been in the business of creating clothes and two of our greatest assets are our design studio and atelier,” said Bolen. He continued, “Our team will continue to work on next season’s collection with a keen focus on the level of sophistication and craftsmanship that are the hallmarks of our house. We wish Peter well in his future endeavors.”
It looks as if they aren’t in a rush to appoint Copping’s successor. So there’s no telling who will fill the position next and whether or not Copping will move to another brand. Stay tuned.
Thoughts on the news? Who would you like to see at ODLR next?
