Miami Swim Week wraps up today and one of the designers who showed her sultry swimsuits during the fashion week is none other than Draya Michele. Her latest designs for Mint Swim are bright, sexy, body-baring, but functional.
One-piece swimsuits (my personal favorite) featured cutout detailing and high cuts for an 80’s and early 90’s feel: on-trend with what fashion is showing on their runways. For simpler bikinis, they packed a punch with bright color and tie detailing.
High-waist bottoms, strapless bandeaus, one-shoulder tops, and timeless triangles rounded out the separates.
Prints included a Summer-perfect floral that screamed “resort” and a jungle-inspired pattern that certainly turned more than a few heads.
And a few cover-up options were presented in the form of an open-knit romper and off-the-shoulder top that could have doubled as day wear.
Overall, the collection was strong and a quite impressive effort from Michele. The line already has the celebrity buzz, but will buyers actually invest? Only time will tell.
Rita Ora tended to her America’s Next Top Model hosting duties at the show’s NYC studio. For her day of work, she wore a Tommy Hilfiger Pre-Fall 2016 Nautical Print Button Front Shirt and Burgundy Sailor Shorts:
Her shirt and shorts were shown separately in the brand’s Pre-Fall lookbook.
We can tell Rita is going to own the rest of 2016!
Her silk crepe dress features a ruffled, asymmetrical hem, cutout detailing at the waist, a sleeveless silhouette, and an allover contrast white star print.
I liked this!
If you’re up for the splurge, get Jen’s frock here.
Her stretch-silk crepe dress features elbow-length flutter kimono sleeves, a deep front slit, maxi length, wrap silhouette, colorblock detailing, and a tie waist. Looks as if Camila altered hers a bit or got the studio sample as the detailing differs slightly.
Margot Robbie put a modern spin on a classic silhouette at Comic-Con International 2016 Day 3—choosing a Monse Resort 2017 Off the Shoulder Belted Trench Dress:
Her dress is the first look in the brand’s Resort collection.
The Marvel Hall H Panel was star-studded! The casts of upcoming films like Black Panther, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and more told all—and given the style mavens starring in the movies, the glamour quotient was on high.
Let’s see what they wore!
Lupita Nyong’o tried on a braided updo for size, accented with her graphic print tulle Givenchy dress. She always takes risks and I love that.
Zendaya kept it fun and playful in a floral embroidered-dress with fringe detailing and toggle buttons. She’s always flawless, no?
It was all about prints for Danai Gurira in a yellow, black, and white Oscar de la Renta dress in the classic print. She’s gorgeous!
Chadwick Boseman kept it simple and polished in black and navy.
A forest green tie-waist Gabriela Hearst jumpsuit was on the menu for Brie Larson, offsetting her red tresses. This was chic!
Laura Harrier gave a flash of abs in a cropped, button-front shirt, embroidered trousers, brown suede tie sandals, and a Delfina Delettrez Fishing For Compliments Earring. She also just starred in one of Kenzo’s latest videos…I’ve got my eye on her.
Michael B. Jordan kept it casual in a t-rex graphic Coach sweater and Jordans. He’s a cutie!
Chiwetel Ejiofor was all about neutrals for the busy day.
Rachel McAdams slipped on a mesh turtleneck Self Portrait dress for the occasion. Hot!
Tilda Swinton winked to the crowed in a green velvet suit. Her style is impeccable.
After a whirlwind Star Trek: Beyond promo tour, Zoe Saldana was pared-down in a black bodysuit, high-waist destructed skinnies, and black pumps. Simplicity always wins!
And last, but certainly not least was actress Pom Klementieff in a black and white polka dot top and mini skirt, accented with white scallop detailing. Another woman I’ll need to keep my eye on.
