It’s about to be a busy weekend for me!
This Friday, I’ll be speaking at the Rise Empowerment tour in Washington, D.C..

Friday night will have a special all white edition of Cocktails with Claire and an informational panel featuring @ExquisiteMo, the Owner Of Mielle Organics LLC, Rochelle Graham, CEO of Alika Naturals, and Angela Walker aka @AngelaonSocial.
If you’re in D.C., you should definitely hang out for Day 2, which will have panels featuring Angelica of @theshaderoom, @meaganvoguist, and more.

On Saturday, I’m blasting off to Chicago for Cocktails with Claire x Miss Diddy!

The day will include a Breaking into Fashion panel, featuring D Lux Chicago’s Bobby Simmons, radio personality Kendra G, makeup artist Ashunta Sheriff, Miss Diddy, and yours truly, moderated by Awesomely Luvvie! From 3-7, swing by and have a cocktail, and shop from vendors like Pear Nova, Dez Deme, BellaRosa, 8ty4 Vintage, and more.

The black, mock-neck, long sleeve mini dress features shoulder cutouts with ruffle detailing.

Today, I was reminded of one of the very first Cocktails with Claire, which took place at LA’s Pinky Rose Boutique on July 28, 2008.

A handful of Bombshells gathered at the cute store. My boyfriend at the time bought a handle of vodka and made drinks himself. I got my makeup done at the MAC counter at Beverly Center. I found somewhere to do my hair, but the front didn’t dry, so the front of my hair was straight while the back was curly!

It wasn’t much, but it was a start!

Fast forward 8 years later and we have drink sponsors, vendors, panelists, and snazzy venues!

We’re even going on tour, popping into Chicago this weekend, Atlanta next weekend (tickets going on sale tomorrow), and LA August 20th!
Those pix just made me see that things really do get better with time! And even though we have experienced a few hiccups with planning this year, we gone be alright.
