I’m currently in Miami for the Revolt Music Conference, but yesterday, popped by New Orleans to speak at the National Black MBA Conference, presented by Nationwide!
Actor Terrence J and I spoke on a panel about embracing your pawer and passion to elevate your career to the next level. We had a great time chatting to a packed room of leaders, executives, and students.
It’s always hard to encapsulate the contents of a 45 minute talk in one post! But Terrence and I shared stories of being met with adversity, but pushing through anyway; hearing lots of “no’s” until we got to yes! Terrence was also impressive in that he is intentional in seeking out guidance in his industry. Some of his mentors include Will Smith, Steve Harvey, and more.
The conference was somewhat conservative, so I bet on back in an MSGM Ruffled Dress from FarFetch and Azzedine Alaia sandals:

Misha Collection is known for its affordable takes on glamorous designs. But with its latest Gold label, the brand is offering up luxury with high-fashion price points.
The pieces are produced and designed in Melbourne, Australia: the hometown of the brain behind the brand Michelle Aznavorian. For its debut collection for Resort 2017, Misha Gold tapped none other Bella Hadid to model its wares.
A plunging tiered fringe bodysuit and a lace bustier come in at $495—the lowest-priced pieces in the assortment—while a beaded stripe LBD is tagged at almost $1,500.
My favorite looks in the assemblage both incorporate the on-trend, off-the-shoulder fad: a double-breasted, tie waist jacket that can also serve as a dress and a long-sleeve, culotte jumpsuit.
I fully expect to see the brand’s fans including Bella Hadid, Eva Longoria, Joan Smalls, and Alessandra Ambrosio in these ensembles in the coming months.
