Hey Heyyyyy!
So I’m in Las Vegas for the Soul Train Awards. But before I hopped on that long flight, I spoke at a conference called Simply Stylist in New York.
Bloggers like Damsel in Dior and Kat from With Love from Kat spoke on panels and offered advice on blogging, social media, and more.
It was interesting that I was pegged to be on the entrepreneur panel and not the ‘blogger’ panel, but when you think about it, I’m doing more than blogging these days! My book is done and off to the editor; today I am a Style Correspondent for the Soul Train Awards! Isn’t GOD good, by the way?!?
So I’ll be honest: I picked up a few items from Net a Porter to wear to the Soul Train Awards, just so that I could have options. I ultimately decided to wear something else, but didn’t want to let my fab finds go to waste. So I wore a gown to the conference. Specifically Solace London’s Black Paige Belted Cutout Maxi Dress.
I tried to dress it down with hoops and Christian Louboutin pumps, but THEN I slipped on a fur and proceeded to be totally overdressed.LOL.
Fashion Is supposed to be fun! You’re supposed to stand out. Glitter, sparkle, and shine. Life is your stage and the world is your runway.
I said hey to Vanessa Simmons, who gave the Keynote. She looked bomb in French Connection and Christian Louboutin Heart pumps.
Then I was off to the airport!
I’m in Las vegas for one day, then am back home to NYC…then off to Lagos, Nigeria.
Where will I go next…(hint LA)?
Love + Light,
Tina Lawson and Beyonce supported Solange Last night at Saturday Night Live! Beyonce congratulated her sister wearing a $450 Senorita Dress by Alice McCall:
The sheer long sleeve midi-length dress is crafted from a bespoke spot tulle fabric and features a unique scalloped trim across the body and hemline and peekaboo side leg splits.
Solange Knowles took A Seat at the Table at Saturday Night Live last night, singing one of her most popular songs, Cranes in the Sky. The eclectic beauty went for 60’s inspiration in earrings and a custom crystal dress by Erickson Beamon, worn over a La Perla Silk Flair Bandeau Bra and Silk Flair Full Briefs.
She fashioned her hair into a crown with the help of Crowezilla, who wrote on Instagram, “40+ hours of beading and braiding well spent. I have so many feelings! Infinite Gratitude for such Divine synergy!”
Solange looked beautiful and she sounded amazing!
What did you think of her ensemble and performance?
The gloves are off! And, we have another Who Wore It Better battle brewing!
For a recent apperance at the premiere of the film Loving, actress Lupita Nyong’o rocked a head-to-toe Kenzo x H&M ‘fit that features the collab’s $70 Off-the-Shoulder Tiered Floral Print Blouse. But, let’s not forget, Christina Milian also uplifted the same piece a few days ago.
The playful top boasts loads of color, mixed graphic prints and tiered ruffle detailing. If you’rr up for the purchase, try your luck here!
I think both ladies look amazing! While Lupita opted for more of an eye-catching appeal, Christina dressed down the eccentric piece with simple black jeans and bold pumps. Gotta give credit where it’s due!
Beyonce wowed the entire world as she graced the 2016 Country Music Awards red carpet in an exuberant embellished gown from Zuhair Murad’s Spring 2016 collection. The jaw-dropping ensemble boasts dramatic shoulders, a glamorous train and a flawless silhouette. Despite the rumors surrounding her groundbreaking performance of “Daddy Lessons” with The Dixie Chicks, the superstar served up some serious slayage with a side of #BlackGirlMagic! And this, my friends, is why I’m a loyal supporter/member of the Beyhive – our Queen just gets it!
I stand by the fact that Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is one of my favorite fashionistas. This devastatingly gorgeous supermodel relishes in an effortless, “cool girl” aesthetic that speaks volumes on and off the catwalk. For a recent appearance at the 2016 LACMA Art and Film Gala, the British bombshell uplifted a soft pink, tiger embroidered silk gown from Gucci’s Resort 2017 presentation. She accessorized her demure look with a bold lip and her signature golden locks. Hot!
Now, if you’ve been following Gwyneth Paltrow as long as we have, then you’re fully aware that she is no stranger to sartorial perfection. The iconic actress was on hand for the 2016 LACMA Art and Film Gala in a super chic Gucci Resort 2017 silk crepe cocktail dress. While the beauty’s custom frock screams pure sophistication, the multicolored geometric embellishments catapult this sleek LBD to new (and innovative) heights. To top off her ‘fit, Gwyneth also donned gold peep toe ankle strap pumps and a black clutch. Sidenote: Does this woman ever age? My gosh!
The fashionable Alesha Dixon attended the Pride of Britain Awards in a $220 bandeau dress from her recent collaboration with the Little Black Dress brand. On multiple occasions, we’ve seen this bombshell continuously rock her own designs but, this time around, it was all about flirty florals! Alesha’s feminine frock includes a thigh-grazing slit, a belted waist and structured pleat bodice detailing. Always remember: You can never deny the power of an in-your-face graphic print, it’s the answer to our “what to wear woes”.
Actress/singer Lea Michele illuminated ladylike vibes while making a quick appearance at Entertainment Weekly’s PopFest in a J. Mendel Spring 2016 multicolored eyelet midi dress and a pair of pointed black pumps. The emerald and navy number also features a deep v-cut neckline and metallic stripe detailing. While Lea’s limb-baring outfit borders along the lines of both classic yet contemporary, it’s so refreshing to see her in such a marvelous piece. Go girl! We see you!
Country sweetheart and 2016 Country Music Awards host Carrie Underwood gave all onlookers a reason to stop and stare as she set the red carpet ablaze in a pastel pink gown rom Michael Cinco’s Fall 2016 collection. The exquisite halterneck gown reminds me of a modern-day Cinderella! Although the dress may be fit for a fairy tale princess, Carrie breathed new life into its appeal by transforming the piece into a sultry stunner. The songstress also flaunted tousled blonde curls and kept her accessories to a minimum. Cute!
The crewneck tee showcases a clean silhouette and a playful graphic that displays Bey’s signature “Formation” wide-brim hat. Get yours now!
We all know that denim is an essential when it comes to dressing down any outfit. So, Bey’s figure-hugging H&M picks are perfect for the fashionista on the go.
And, how awesome is this legendary trio? I’m loving every moment of this!
Make sure you guys get out and vote on November 8th!
Beyonce was in #formation for Hillary Clinton at the Get The Vote Out concert last night as she rocked a sequin collared shirt by 5:31 Jerome, a $2,630 Givenchy Cross Print Blazer and $650 Crepe Ankle-Grazer Pants from the brand.
The tailored topper features front button fastening, notched lapels, long sleeves and a straight hem. But, unfortunately, it’s sold out everywhere!
To top off the conservative look, the songstress slipped into matching trousers that boast a signature T-seam and mini cross prints that drench the entire fabric. And, yep, these are sold out as well.
It’s no surprise that Bey slayed her entire set! As her backup dancers donned royal blue suits and matching “I’m With Her” tees, the performance brought pop culture and politics to the forefront as the superstar urged voters to support Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.
Of course, Bey’s hubby Jay-Z was in attendance!
Well, I tell you, it looks like the Get The Vote Out concert was one for the books! With a star-studded lineup and a firm political message as the theme, I’m praying this will drive our younger generation to the polls. This election is absolutely crucial to the growth of our nation – so, let your voice be heard!
